[14.10] Drown in Holy Fire! - Kayle Support Guide.

By Velkyann
PROS
+ Very Powerfull Ultimate
+ Very High Movespeed
+ Scales Really Hard
+ Versatile Builds and Playsyles
+ A lot of Utility in The Kit
+ Strong Peeling Mid/Late

Kayle Support can be played in a lot of ways with diferent runes, spells or items. Her utility can be very strong in the right hands and can save entire games. For example you can Heal your team with Celestial Blessing and save allies from dying with Divine Judgment every fight. Her Radiant Blast helps a lot with the Slow and Armor and Magic Resistence shred, your Starfire Spellblade can deal damage based on Missing Health which can kill enemies take are low and your team cant kill. You can still survive laning phase with the right runes or items for example Fleet Footwork and win games just by being with your team.
CONS
- Weak Early Game
- High Mana Cost Early
- High Cooldowns Early
- A Lot of Bad Matchups

Laning as Kayle Support is always hard and can be very stressful when playing against strong engage supports like Leona or a support with a lot of poke like Senna. Kayle has a very weak early game because of the really high Cooldowns and Mana costs but still can win the majority of matchups level 1 or 2, just be carefull of who you are against and if you or your adc takes to much damage it may be very difcult to Heal them with just Celestial Blessing. Against a lot of damage or with a bad adc your Divine Judgment has a very long base Cooldown without Ability Haste so be carefull. Kayle Support requires a lot of games to know her limits and what to build so i dont recommend giving up after a few games.
Divine Ascent Divine Ascent is not very strong for Kayle Support but it can still help especialy early. Your passive stacks Attack Speed up to 5 and at max gives Movement Speed, level 6 gives you ranged attacks, level 11 gives your auto attacks while the passive is stacked a firewave that deals spell damage which can proc things like Rylai's Crystal Scepter, level 16 you get more range and max stacks permanently.
Radiant Blast Radiant Blast is a very strong Slow that reduces Armor and Magic Resistence and gives a good poke, it also extends range after hitting something. Radiant Blast hitbox is very strange and can hit a lot of times when it shouldn't because of the extended range when hitting something. You can move while casting Radiant Blast and use abilities right after casting it.
Celestial Blessing Celestial Blessing is the main part of Kayle Support in the early game and for the rest of the game, it Heals you and a ally while gives a lot of Movement Speed. Celestial Blessing is strong even in early game because of the Movement Speed it gives with a Heal. Celestial Blessing goes to the ally with lowest Health if you dont aim it, so it can focus untargetable allies like Gwen on her Hallowed Mist.
Starfire Spellblade Starfire Spellblade is the main source of damage for Kayle, it gives passive auto attack damage and the active makes your next attack deal extra damage based on Missing Health and makes it ranged, before level 6 and after 11 deals AoE damage. Because of the Starfire Spellblade making Kayle ranged it gives you less money with the Support Item but it doesnt change much.
Divine Judgment Divine Judgment is the strongest part of Kayle Support. Divine Judgment makes you or an ally Invulnerable for 2.5 seconds and then deals damage in a area. always try to find the strongest or most carry potent person on your team and try to make him win every fight with your ult especially if they are a frontliner like Aatrox.

This is the sequence you will want to take with Kayle Support most of the games, but you can level Starfire Spellblade second to do more damage but i only recommend it if your team needs another damage dealer or if you like the damage playstyle. You can level Radiant Blast first it may be good when you are agaisnt a lot of melees but i have not tested it.

Your leveling in early game can change a lot based on the situation or matchups. In some matchups where you cant fight level 1 or 2 like Ashe it may be better to take Celestial Blessing level 1 to Heal poke or save your team, you can also take Radiant Blast agaisnt hard melee matchups like Pyke for the Slow and poke.

FLASH: You will always want to take Flash because it is the best spell to help you survive in the game or Flash to get a kill. You can Divine Judgment first and then Flash to instantly help an ally, keep in mind that you cant do the same for Celestial Blessing.
GHOST: You can take Ghost only if you really know how to use it, you can trade your Flash for a Ghost and almost guarantee a kill early. The Ghost will not be very good late game for Kayle Support because you will probably have a lot of Movement Speed already.
HEAL: This spell is one of if not the best for Kayle Support because it Heals you and an ally and also gives Movement Speed for both. Heal is super usefull to extend items like Ardent Censer. Heal scales on Heal and Shield Power which is very strong for items like Redemption.
EXHAUST: You can take this spell if you want to have more utility or if you are against heavy damage/assasins. Exhaust can help you and your ADC to survive a burst of damage and to get to enemies with the Slow.
IGNITE: This can be good for the extra damage and anti heal against some matchups. Ignite does not have much synergy with Kayle Support compared to other spells like Heal but it can still be usefull if you want to use it.

PRECISION

Fleet Footwork is very strong early for the sustain and to get to enemies without using spells. Fleet Footwork is still really strong in mid and late game because you can Heal from monsters and get Healing from poke, i really recommend this rune especially against hard matchups. After the recent changes to Press the Attack and the removal of Lethal Tempo this rune is the only good option for Kayle Support, you can use Press the Attack but it only counts for personal damage now so it really doesnt help much.
Presence of Mind is really strong for sustaining Mana in lane especailly in matchups where you can be agressive because you can proc it with your Starfire Spellblade. Presence of Mind is really good especially if you get kills or assists early so you can continue in lane.

Legend: Alacrity is not very good for support but can be great for more consistent Attack Speed which is surprisingly good for taking out wards throughout the game. Legend: Alacrity has kind of a synergy with Kayle Support because it can make it easier to stack her Divine Ascent.

Legend: Haste is pretty simple and can help a lot, it is a bit hard to stack but you will always have it finished at the end of a game. Legend: Haste gives 15 Basic Ability Haste which is normal Ability Haste but doesnt work on your Divine Judgment, the good thing is that it gives you a lot of it even if it doesnt work on Divine Judgment.

Coup de Grace is good to finish enemies especially with Starfire Spellblade. Take Coup de Grace if you dont want to fight early or only want guaranteed damage.

Last Stand is basically the oposite of Coup de Grace it only works when you are low so it is very good in early fights. Take Last Stand if you like to fight early for advantage.

SORCERY

Summon Aery is a really strong choice in the Sorcery tree and is very good especially for the more enchanter playstyle. Summon Aery can be very good for the poke and extra Shield with Celestial Blessing or even Shurelya's Battlesong but you are really weak early and cant fight until level 6. I only recommend using Summon Aery if you want to use Sorcery or are going for the enchanter playstyle, i also recommend buying Shurelya's Battlesong and Echoes of Helia if you are going to use this rune because Shurelya's Battlesong procs Summon Aery and Echoes of Helia procs on Shields.
Manaflow Band is very good for Kayle Support because of her Starfire Spellblade which can proc it. Manaflow Band is also very good for the extra Mana and Mana Regen on the early game and can help a lot before you finish your second item.
Transcendence gives you more consistent Cooldowns even in lower levels and makes your level 11 powerspike much better making you be able to lower basic abilities Cooldowns with assists.

Celerity is really strong right now especially with things like Shurelya's Battlesong and your Celestial Blessing. Celerity can be really strong if you like Movement Speed and dodging abilities but the best part is being always faster than the enemy support which can change the game, for example getting to a objective before them.

Gathering Storm is not very interactive its just AP every 10 minutes but it is still one of the best runes. Gathering Storm is really strong especially with Kayle Support because of the dificulty to get levels, its very good to get free stats based on time.

RESOLVE

Demolish is really strong and can make a entire playstyle around it. Demolish procs with 600 range and Kayle gets 525 level 6 and it stays that until level 16 so you will be able to proc Demolish very comfortably for the entire game.

Font of Life gives a very weak Heal to you and the lowest Health ally when you Slow or immobilize a enemy with a 20 second Cooldown. The interaction with Font of Life and Echoes of Helia is back and it is really strong with the changes to Echoes of Helia, it only starts working at level 9 for ranged and 5 for melee which doesnt mean much but keep in mind.

Second Wind is really busted because of the massive Heal it gives which can help a lot to survive hard lanes especially the poke ones. Second Wind gives you Healing based on Missing Health when you get hit.

Bone Plating is really strong against burst or melee matchups because you can resist a lot of damage with it. Bone Plating is not very consistent because of the Cooldown but you can work around it.

Revitalize is really strong for any support especially enchanters. Revitalize makes your Heals and Shields stronger and that applies to things like Heal and Summon Aery so it is basically a must have for the enchanter playsytle and really good for every situation.

DOMINATION

Zombie Ward is very strong for various reasons like the ward it summons cant be destroyed with Oracle Lens when it is on a bush and the enemies will need to enter the bush to destroy it. Zombie Ward has only one big problem which is the time it takes to finish getting the stacks when the enemies dont ward to much. Zombie Ward gives a lot of information to your team and helps a lot when you are behind or ahead because it depends on the enemies ward, it also increases you vision score by almost double.
Treasure Hunter is the weakest of these 3 and realistically you will only want to take it when you are building damage or really want the first item more than anything.

Relentless Hunter is strong and underrated, it can be the reason you win even with the nerfs because of the permanent out of combat Movement Speed you are always quicker than the enemy support when roaming and going to voidgrubs for example.

Ultimate Hunter is probably the most consistent of these 3 because it just makes your Divine Judgment comeback quicker which can make you win a lot of fights especially the early ones where you have a huge Cooldown, the only problem is that it just does one thing that gets weaker when you get Ability Haste or level your Divine Judgment.

INSPIRATION

Triple Tonic is not really that strong but it is a really comfortable pick to some people so it can work. Triple Tonic gives you 3 tonics at level 3, 6 and 9 them being Elixir of Avarice which only helps with the 40 Gold, Elixir of Force that can help with a early fight, and the most important Elixir of Skill which gives you a extra skill point, note that the extra skill point doesnt give you Divine Judgment early it only gives you a extra one.

Biscuit Delivery is really good for Mana Sustain at the early game and to Heal a little bit when low. Biscuit Delivery gives you a Total Biscuit of Everlasting Will every 2 minutes until 6 minutes, they give you Mana Regen and Healing based on the amount missing, it also gives you permanent 40 Mana for each.
Cosmic Insight is good in general and not very interactive, you can take Cosmic Insight anytime you want as it gives you really generic stats for a Support. Cosmic Insight helps with item Cooldowns but not very much, it also gives a lot of Summoner Spell Haste which is really good.

Jack of all Trades is really strong if you can get to its maximum, it is only usable if you are going to build diferent stats for example you can proc it with just World Atlas, Boots, Ardent Censer and Vigilant Wardstone. Jack of all Trades gives you Ability Haste for every diferent stat, at 5 stacks you get 10 Adaptive Force and at 10 you get more 15 Adaptive Force to a total of 25.

Standard for Early Damage

Standard (If u want Adaptive Force for Movement Speed)

Warding for Blue and Red side. (Wards for Blue side are Green).
