I just don't like when reviewers give upvotes too easily or just don't know when something is sub-optimal or not and end up giving no real feedback at all. Always be critic when reviewing guides and you should be fine.
In the end, people who visit review shops are interested in more opinions on what they wrote. They're asking you specifically to share your thoughts. I wouldn't worry too much about saying anything that's incorrect (I'm assuming this is what you might be insecure about, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong), authors can still choose not to make changes that you suggest.
more worried that people will just laugh at the idea of me doing it >_< I regularly get the impression that people don't really take much of what I say seriously, so it's hard to think I should do it.
As long as you have the time, I'm still gonna go for the "go for it" option.

As long as your reviews are actual reviews (aka more than "oh this looks pretty good, dont have much to add, gj +1"), you're good to go.

the same thing that's always stopping me: I don't really have the self-confidence to feel like I actually should.
You can do it! I believe in you! :D
Don't doubt yourself. If it fails you'll learn from it, if you don't... then you don't which is great! :D
I mean, what's stopping you?
