Let’s start about why our Max Heal Aatrox build will make you the STRONGEST and literally break the game at some points! Aatrox with his ultimate alone got a 100% increase healing, what that means? That means that he will multiply his damage to heal effects(Runes, Omnivamp-Physical to heal from Elixir of Wrath, Goredrinker missing HP heal) and regeneration(Base Hp regain, Second Wind even Doran's Shield ) by x100%, our build will now take this and add another 40% from Spirit Visage and Revitalize and make you reach up to x140% Bonus Healing and 40% Bonus Shields from your allies making you LITERALLY IMMORTAL with heals per hit to reach 1000+HP(Not even kidding about this number, you will understand as we talk more about the combo of runes-items)!
Is this only that? Not at all, Aatrox got a 30% Damage to heal effect as passive with his E Umbral Dash and an INSANE heal effect with his passive Deathbringer Stance that will get its CD reduced each time you hit something your with your Q Darkin Blade, but also he got an insane amount of DAMAGE as well, in full build you will have 110+ABILITY HASTE to spam your skills non-stop, 600+ AD 100armor-MR and 3700HP+ to make you the strongest champion in the entire game, towers, champions, nothing will be able to kill you or even dream to stop you!!

Let’s get started by explaining why Aatrox is going to be a monster by understanding the runes as well!

Let’s start by understanding why to choose these runes and why to play with this set of runes will be the ONLY and the STRONGEST option of all!

For Resolve:
Grasp of the Undying One of the most powerful runes in the game for champions like Aatrox that works incredible good with your Deathbringer Stance that you will need to HIT the target to apply it, this rune will give you 3 stats, bonus damage with % of your HP, from the damage that you will be doing you will ALSO HEAL from Ravenous Hunter and its second effect that will heal for 2% of your MAX HP, and these healing effects will be multiplied by 140% cause of Revitalize, Spirit Visage and World Ender
making Grasp of the Undying the most important rune for this champion, its 3rd effect and one of the most important stat that most people forgetting is the 5 permanent HP that you will also get each time you are using it, the more you fight, the STRONGER you will be, Health point is the most important stat in this game and you will have the ability to increase it and as you go to full late game to reach INSANE numbers of bonus Hp just from this rune! To realize it how big it is, if you use the Grasp of the Undying for 100 times you will have 500 PERMANT HP for free (an entire item worth of stats)
So just from Grasp you will have 3 effects that together with your passive Deathbringer Stance will make you a total monster, but this is just the beginning. Let’s continue!!

Demolish Bonus damage to take towers faster that will help you secure taking the tower plates faster and also start moving around the map to make sure you will help your allies DESTROY ALL as well!

** Second Wind Another monstrous rune, HP REGAIN each time you receiving damage from the enemy that scales with your MISSING HP, people keep underestimate it, but cause of this rune and Doran's Shield you will be totally UNSTOPPABLE early to FULL LATE GAME, Aatrox is one of the champions that can multiply the HP regain effects just by having your Ultimate World Ender on, making you multiply the Second Wind and Doran's Shield regain effects by 100% (lvl 3 R) and for another 25% from Spirit Visage and that’s why are keeping the Doran's Shield till LITERALLY LATE GAME, cause the Hp regain effect will help you survive no matter what!

Revitalize One of the most BROKEN runes that on certain champions works incredible, Aatrox is one of them, 5%-15% BONUS HEALS and SHIELDS that together with Spirit Visage you will increase these effects up 40% and will make you even stronger than ever again! Also you will increase the heals and shields from allies such as Janna Yuumi Sona etc. Making you even more powerful!

The secondary runes tree that we will choose will always be DOMINATION and that cause we need the Ravenous Hunter rune at all cost plus one of the other 3 choices:

Cheap Shot Extra true damage after your CC, and Aatrox got 5 Type of CC to activate this rune, your Q will apply 3, and your W 2 more, making you use this rune NON-STOP!

Sudden Impact One of my favorite ones, bonus Lethality and Magic Pen while using your E to do more damage but also HEAL MORE, cause Damaging your enemies more = Healing more from that damage!

Taste of Blood If you want better sustain, then this is your option, bonus HP each 20seconds while damaging your enemies, this amount will multiplied by 140% cause of World Ender, Revitalize and Spirit Visage


Ravenous Hunter A MUST TO HAVE RUNE, 11% Damage to HEAL, that means each time you using your RUNES-SKILLS-ITEMS-HITS, you will receive 11% of the damage dealt as health back, this amount will be MULTIPLIED by 140% cause of World Ender, Revitalize and Spirit Visage and together with all the runes that we talked about will make you a total MONSTER!

**To understand the real power of Second Wind on this champion, we will have a quick example!
With our full build we will have 3500+ TOTAL HP, the moment you are with only 1000 HP left you will have regeneration ~10.6 HP per second (~106 in 10 seconds) this amount, will be multiplied by your Spirit Visage as well by 25% and for another 100% from World Ender so you will have total regeneration from this rune alone of ~23.85 HP PER SECOND (~238.5 HP in 10 seconds) and all this without calculating ANY of our other regeneration effects from Base HP regain, Items etc.
As you can understand Second Wind is much stronger than you can even imagine!!!!

By having this combination of runes you will realize that Aatrox is many times stronger than you think, making him impossible to die while having the damage to kill them all, even if you are 1v5!
Now that you understood the combination of items Balorians, you are ready to go for the ITEM CHOICES and realize how powerful this champion really is!
Let’s continue with the item choices now.

As we talked above Aatrox start item will ALWAYS BE no matter what the Doran's Shield plus a Health Potion this will give you an insanely big amount of regeneration that from the early stages of the game will make you unstoppable and unable to die and you will keep it till LITERALLY LATE GAME and always sell it LAST, it’s important cause we had the example for Second Wind above, the regeneration from Doran's Shield will also get multiplied by 125% making it even more gold efficient as is it right now!

On our first back we will focus on having from 900 to 1050 gold to buy 2 more Doran's Blade and a Refillable Potion the reason we need this is cause we will NEED the insane effects that these start items giving you to survive and overpower all in lane phase and you will keep them till you start buying your 3rd core item part from Spirit Visage that you will sell the FIRST ONE!
To understand how much stats these items giving you, let me tell you that the moment you will buy your 2 Doran's Blade you will have: 16 AD, 240 HP, omnivamp effect (that you will multiply cause of Revitalize and World Ender) and an insane REGENERATION effect and all that only with 900 gold (plus the 1 from lvl 1) the start items are “rent” items, that means we need to buy them as fast as possible and keep them till 20+min of the game that we will start buying our 3rd-4th-5th core items and start selling them one by one and give us back 180 Gold, making these stats that we talked above to only cost 270 GOLD!!!!

Next we will start building our mythic and the STRONGEST item for our Max Heal Aatrox build the Goredrinker and buy always the first part item that will be Phage!
Phage will give you very powerful stats from super early in the game, AD-HP and a HEAL effect that will be multiplied by your Revitalize and R World Ender and then finish the Goredrinker remember we wont sell ANY of our items for this and if possible keep the Refillable Potion as well till start building your 2nd core item that will be Black Cleaver

After finishing Goredrinker you will have everything that you need to OVERPOWER all, AD, HP, insane HP Regain, Ability Haste and an insane active effect that will damage and let you HEAL from your missing HP and will stack for up to 5 times for each champion that you will damage with this, this heal effect will have its CD reduced from your Ability haste and also multiply its healing by 140% Cause of the Revitalize, Spirit Visage and World Ender to understand how BROKEN this item really is for this champion, just imagine that in full late game we got 110+ Ability haste and the CD of the item is less than 7 seconds!!!!!!!
Also the mythic item will give you ABILITY HASTE for each Legendary item you are going to finish (all the items that you can build into except boots)

Next we will start building Black Cleaver another IMMPORTANT and powerful item for our build, this item will give you AD-HP-Ability Haste but also 2 effects, ARMOR REDUCTION and missing HP to damage effect while damaging your enemies, letting you do MORE Damage while also having more sustain from the stats!

Then we will finish our Boots into MOST OF THE TIMES Mercury's Treads cause we need the extra TENACITY effect and MR Stat.
If you playing against FULL AD teams with ZERO CC, then go for Plated Stealcaps especially against champion that using basic attacks as main source of damage, like for example Tryndamere Yasuo or Master Yi etc. this item will COUNTER THEM completely, cause it will reduce their pre-armor reduction damage by 12% (its pretty big, cause after that you will recude it even further cause of your resistances)

Our next item will ALWAYS BE Spirit Visage this item might be one of the most important to have items for our build, the reason is cause of the combination of Revitalize and World Ender that we talked about you will have an insanely amount of bonus healing, that will help you sustain and easily right now destroy any kind of enemy, be it FULL AD or FULL AP and even have the power to 1v5 easily! The stats that Spirit Visage gives are the most gold efficiency stats that you can buy in the game, not only you will have HP-MR-Ability Haste-REGAIN but you will also have 140% BONUS HEALS and 40% Bonus SHIELDS together with Revitalize from any kind of source that you got plus heals and shields from your teammates as well, so just imagine playing with a Soraka or Janna with you or even deadlier to have Yuumi!!

With just these 3 items you will be ready to overpower all, but the next one will make you BREAK THIS GAME completely!
After finishing Spirit Visage we will start building our Sterak's Gage and that means that we will sell our 2nd Doran’s blade and buy Phage that as we talked above will already give you a part EFFECT of this item and make you stronger!!
After finishing you will have AD-HP and two INSANE EFFECTS that can be easily be the strongest passive effects in the entire game while combining them with our RUNES-ITEMS!
The first one will give you HEAL for each champion you are hitting or taking damage from and the second one will give you a huge SHIELD after going below 30% max HP and these two effects will be multiplied by 140% for the HEAL and 40% For the SHIELD that you will gain! The heal effect will let you have up to 120+HP per second and literally let you stay full hp while fighting 1v5 easily!

For the last item we got lots of options, but most of the times we will play with Serylda's Grudge, lets talk about each option and WHY we need them!

1. Serylda's Grudge my FAVORITE item, AD, Ability Haste, A huge %Armor pen effect that will let you do MORE damage to your enemies but also let you heal more cause of the damage that you will be doing to them and a SLOW EFFECT that will let you always reach your targets no matter how fast they are!!


2. Death's Dance Another powerful item that got a similar effect just like sterak, giving you AD, Ability Haste, Armor and 2 passives effects, one will let you turn the 30% of the BURST Physical damage into bleed over time effect and another that with each KILL/ASSIST you will clear the 30% damage that you are taking as bleed effect and HEAL for %YOUR MAX HP plus Movement speed bonus, almost the same effect just like Sterak's Gage and you will multiply everything for 140% as well!!

3. Chempunk Chainsword A powerful item that you will buy against champions that got TONS OF HEALIGN effects and you want to counter them, AD-HP-Ability haste and the ability to reduce the heals from enemies for up to 60% while damaging them!!

4. Cause we will already have INSANE Damage with our other items, for last item we can also play with Warmog's Armor the MOST gold efficiency item in the game, its passive alone is 1000% gold efficiency of its cost as a stat and this item of course is Warmog's Armor not only you will have HP, Ability, HP Regain but you will also have an insanely out of combat HP REGAIN, imagine that you will have the power to go in, fight literally for AS LONG AS YOU WANT and then, if you are TOO LOW, to flash or just simply walk away, wait for 10seconds and then go in again with FULL HP. It’s a more “defensive” option but also an offensive one cause of the Grasp of the Undying that scales with your max HP instead of the %HP of the enemies!


And also never forget to always get your Elixir of Wrath another IMPORTANT to always have after finishing your 3rd core item, AD plus 15% Physical damage to HEAL effect that will let you survive more and stay full hp for all fight long!

The Full Aatrox Item build will look like this:

And now you can fully understand why this combination of items together with RUNES is BY FAR the most powerful one that you can even play with on Aatrox
Now you are ready Balorians for you to become the TRUE MONSTER of summoner's rift and make everyone to be your FOOD!!!!

Lets talk about the strategy here. To play with Aatrox isn't only use his PURE Strength as your weapon, like any other WARS, at league you need to use your HEAD as well to win the game.
So let’s talk about what you need to focus.

Creeps(FOCUS on FARM): The most important thing is to focus on your farm, you need to farm fast and if you can kill all the creeps without missing even one. This way you will take the lead from your enemy champion, dont be
afraid to use your skills for last hits even at the 1 level.

Stay Alive: To not to die at lane and not have any kills is more worth than to be 3-3 or 4-4 with your enemy Lane champion.
Your build focusing to be the strongest at the MID-Late game, doesn't matter if you can’t kill now, focus on farm and you will be able to show your true Strength at the right time of the game.

To play Aatrox is incredible FUN and easy as well, our Max Heal build will make sure that you won’t have any problem against any match up, the reason behind it is cause it’s close to zero punishable no matter how many mistakes you will make in a game, your passive, Doran's Shield, Second Wind, World Ender heal effects from Sterak's Gage, Grasp of the Undying, Deathbringer Stance and all the heal from the damage that you doing from Ravenous Hunter will make you unable to die and stay alive for as long as you want!

A simple way to use Aatrox is the following, use your Q and make sure to knock up the target, then instant press your W to slow him down and then press Q again to stun him and make sure you will pull him back with the W, then try to use your 3rd Q on him while he is coming back from the W and that’s pretty much what you need to INSTANT kill any target, remember to use your E to move around in order to secure hitting your Q right and ALWAYS hit the targets to activate the passive together with Grasp of the Undying its super important to remember that the passive CD will get reduced while hitting your Q so that means at the end of the 3Q combo you will have it again!!

Another tip is to use your R and focus on killing the first target AS FAST AS POSSIBLE, your World Ender duration effect will get refund 5second with each kill or assist, so to secure killing something or help your teammates do that will let you have your R longer making the HEAL-DAMAGE-MOVEMENT SPEED effect to be activated for ALL FIGHT LONG!!

Now you are ready to literally DESTROY everything my ultimate Balorian, there is nothing can will be able to stop you and remember that even if you mess up early and die sometimes, you will still be able to be an unstoppable monster later on, never tilt, play to have fun and improve and you will always end up victorious!!
