Start longsword. No pots. Building support items on Yi support is a waste because you are investing 450 gold into an item that gives you no damage. However, by building longsword (and no pots), you are essentially investing all 500 of your starting gold into your duskblade, allowing you to spike 5/3 kills fasters than your lane opponent.

Now rageblade/bork is core on yi, but only small brain people build this way. The reason for this is that blade of the ruined king has 40 AD, while lethality items have 55, AND on top of that give armor pen. Now that's what Jeff Bezos would call a good investment. Thus, you want to build all 3 lethality items, as well as black cleaver because it's a cool item, and mercurial scimitar because you can pop it after you ace the enemy team for BM.

As all the other (****ty and inferior) guides will tell you, ranking your ultimate up is a big spike. Thus, putting all 18 ability points in your ult allows you to do maximum damage for maximum lp.

A lot of people will tell you to take conqueror or lethal tempo on yi. Now that's very ****, because both have a delay before they kick in to maximum level. As busy people, no one has the time in the day to wait, so this rune page is ideal - it allows you to use the out of combat ms you get from relentless and mobis, boosted by waterwalking and celerity, to run to low hp targets across the map, Q in and get sudden impact procced, and proc DH for free stacks and stealing the kill, padding your KDA and making it look like you carried the game, so in case that you do lose you can post the KDA op.gg screenshot on the summonerschool discord and rant about your team losing you the game.
