Ryze is a champion who quite literally rises as the game goes on. His early game is rather lackluster and he very commonly runs out of mana. You really need to focus on CS during the lane phase to get your items. Once you get your Rod of Ages and Seraph's Embrace fully stacked, you can 1v1 anyone in the game. Ryze is a very difficult champion to play and has a very bad solo queue win rate but with some games under your belt and this guide, you will have a much easier time. Please do not bring Ryze into ranked until you have enough knowledge to follow this guide without looking at it more than three times.
Hi! My name is Mike // Michael, also known as Kaliber or by my in-game name, Nisqy Jr. I recently started playing League of Legends last year mid season on my design PC (which I'm coding this guide on now!) at 30fps on very low settings, low spec mode and nothing else open but League. Doing this, I learned how to hit skill shots on low frames and guess where my opponent was going next. However, I still couldn't play many champs. I got Bronze I in Season 8 and was very unmotivated. Many factors took place in this rating, like how I was first timing Rakan without knowing, or how I was playing on 30fps against opponents who had 144fps. All I knew is that I wanted to get better. Later that year, I bought my PC and started getting into League again. I placed Iron IV in my first placement game for mid and didn't touch ranked for half the season. Midsplit, I climbed all the way to Bronze II and I'm still climbing. While it's nothing to boast about, it's very good progress. I main mid and I play multiple different champions like Ekko, Morgana, Cassiopeia, Ryze, Syndra, Azir, Kennen, Viktor, Orianna, Aatrox (pre-ultimate nerf), Taliyah, and finally, Ezreal. I find control mages the most enjoyable out of the group, however, I do love to play some uncommon picks mid. I got my love for mid from Nisqy, who played for Splyce when I first watched League of Legends. The first game I watched was when Nisqy was playing Cassiopeia against Vitality when he got his double kill in his 1v5 (click here for the video, it's pretty sick). This was when I realized that I wanted to play mid lane and I haven't stopped since. I occasionally get the urge to play another role where I can play a champion that doesn't fit mid, like Ornn, so I play that role for a couple games. I always find myself going back to mid lane though.

Ryze's spells deal extra damage based on his bonus mana, and his maximum mana is increased by 5% per 100 ability power.
Passive: Ryze's other basic abilities reset Overload's cooldown and generate a Rune for 4 seconds, up to a maximum of 2.
Active: Ryze unleashes a runic blast in the target direction, dealing 80 / 105 / 130 / 155 / 180 (+45% of ability power) (+3% of bonus mana) magic damage to the first enemy struck and consuming all of his Runes.
If Ryze consumes 2 Runes, he gains 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40% bonus movement speed for 2 seconds.
Flux: Overload deals 10 / 40 / 70 / 100% bonus damage based on Realm Warps's rank and spreads to all nearby enemies marked with Flux, consuming the mark on all targets.
Ryze instantly deals 80 / 100 / 120 / 140 / 160 (+60% of ability power) (+4% bonus mana) magic damage to a target enemy and slows them by 35% for 1.5 seconds.
Flux: Rune Prison's slow is converted to a root for the same duration.
Ryze hurls an orb of runic energy at the target enemy, dealing 60 / 80 / 100 / 120 / 140 (+30% of ability power) (+2% bonus mana) magic damage and marking them and nearby enemies with Flux for 3 seconds, causing his next basic ability against them to consume the mark and gain bonus effects.
Passive: Increases Overload's damage against targets marked with Spell Flux by 40 / 70 / 100%.
Active: Ryze opens a portal to a nearby location. After 2 seconds, all allied units within the portal's sphere are warped to the target location.
If Ryze becomes unable to cast or move, Realm Warp is cancelled.
