Version History
Renekton is one of the best melee harassers in the game after level 3. You can
Slice in,
stun,
Cull, and
Dice out before the enemy can react.
He is a great chaser and a fairly good 1v1 champ.
Slice and Dice can also be used to get over walls, though the range is short, so you wont be able to get over every wall.

PROs
-Fantastic farmer with Cull the Meek.
-Great chaser and escapes from Slice and Dice.
-Long stun on Ruthless Predator.
-Life steal
-Great AOE damage on ult.
CONs
-Timing when you use your built up rage is not too easy in a teamfight.
-Ult scales of AP and everything else off AD.
-No range at all. Can be kited by a very good player.
-Just like Nunu, when your ult goes up, people will want to focus you.

Masteries are a standard 0/21/9 build. Defensive tree as your items give you more than enough attack damage and speed.
Good Hands is better than Perseverance.
Awareness is a must if you can spare the points for it.
Last point into Greed. You probably wont be getting buffs too often as Frozen Mallet will slow and you have no mana.

Ren can benefit from a lot of different Summoner Spells.
Exhaust: Helps with chasing/escaping. Great for 1v1 as well to decrease the enemies damage output.
Flash: Use with your Slice and Dice and escaping is a breeze. Juke all over the place, and laugh as you get away with 20 HP.
Ghost: Also great for closing gaps or escaping.
Cleanse: This may be a good idea if you aren't taking Merc Treads. As a melee champ, CC will shut you down fast if you are not careful.
Ignite: Perfect for those hard to kill champs that heal too much like Mundo and Swaim or for finishing off an opponent as he escapes beyond his tower.
Teleport: Ren is a great pusher and if you plan on doing tower pushing, teleport is a must.

Iteming is pretty straight forward.
Start with Boots of Speed, and 3 Pots. Or just get a Doran's Shield, either way works.
Get Avarice Blade and Ionian Boots of Lucidity as soon as possible.
After, you will want The Brutalizer.
Then from there you can get the items in whatever order you want. Its not really that important. Though I would wait on upgrading your Brutalizer to Youmuu's Ghostblade until later in the game to get the most benefit from Avarice Blade.
Other good choices:
If you need a little bit more tank, add a Sunfire Cape and Atma's Impaler. Both items work really well with your Ult.
Force of Nature.

Renekton is a great 1v2 champ with his lifesteal, stun, and tanky-ness. Trowing him top is always a good choice (thought there may be a BETTER choice on your team). Ren can be a passable mid, but its not a good idea. Bottom is also quite strong for him if he gets a good partner; preferably someone else with a stun or knock up. It can be quite powerful.
As with all champions (except support characters) last hitting is vital. Its best if you dont use your abilities to last hit as Cull will start to wipe out whole waves very easily, pushing the tower and making it more likely you will get ganked. Until you are ready to hit the tower, last hit with auto attacks and harass the enemy with your abilities.

Ren is very effective at safely pushing down towers. Do a split push with your whole team pushing bot or top and you go to the other. Don't get greedy though, if both teams are stalemated at a tower, they will send someone to stop you. And remember: You are not a backdooring champion like Master Yi or Twisted Fate. Don't go off by yourself without your teammates knowing what you are doing.
You will be tanky at this point, with plenty of lifesteal. If your tank isnt near by, YOU will be tanking Baron or Dragon and protecting teammates as best you can until the tank arrives.
When getting into a team fight, let your true tank (Amumu, Maokai, etc.) initiate. Once they are in the fight, its time for you to dive it and throw out your Ult. Stun high priority targets like Malz or Kat. Cull as often as possible for the damage and lifesteal.

Over all Renekton is a very strong Tanky DPS character, but he is not that easy to use. You will need to practice so you know how to maximize the effects of each of your spells both with and without the Rage effect applied. This build is not designed to give you the most kills in the match (though it does happen from time to time), but is designed to make you a truly powerful force in every teamfight, maximizing what your carries can do and assisting your tank.
And as a reminder, no guide no matter HOW well written, or how much time was spent on it, will make you a good player. You have to have skill to back up a good build. Don't down-vote just because you lost a game with my build.
