And i have a question to ask, Did you try the Experimetal Hexplate on Jax for the S14?
I haven't faced Tahm Kench yet personally, so I can't say yet anything really other than I'd still probably go Trinity Force into Titanic Hydra since early on you can still kill him and afterwards just waveclear with Hydra.
I'm not sure about any of the shred items yet for Jax. In some rare cases maybe Terminus is viable but I won't make any statements yet on that since I haven't tested much. Also in terms of sustain Sundered Sky is a viable option.
While it's true I preferred Wit's End for a long time, my choice basically depends on what I'm laning vs and if they have multiple AP champions. If they have like 2-3 AP champions or more then I probably opt for Wit's End, unless they are really behind and the game seems like a stomp then I might just go Blade of the Ruined King anyways. Blade of the Ruined King is fine if they have less AP damage since you can itemize things like Anathema's Chains vs singular AP champ or a fed AP champ.
Zhonya's Hourglass is a situational item for Jax. If you are doing the engaging for your team and your team doesn't really have proper follow up, or if you just need to buy time in general in fights then Zhonya's Hourglass is a fine option.
The regular Jax build is still superior to going AP build. The changes to Jax basically just allow him to have a broader itemization and include some AP items in his regular build situationally like Cosmic Drive and Zhonya's Hourglass. The laning and scaling to late game with AP build is just way harder than with the normal build, and you are relying on oneshotting a lot with the AP build.
Glad you enjoy the guide! I think K'Sante is pretty rough to lane vs since he is, well a new champ and he has a lot of mobility to get out of your E or even just ignore it with his W CC immunity. You can beat him but you have to dodge his Q to not get chunked in lane but its so low cooldown its pretty hard to manage. Also when he R's you have to respect his damage a lot and you cant really jump on him near his tower since he will just insec you into his tower range then.
I still have played Lethal Tempo mostly since its just felt really good so far but Conqueror scales better since later into the game attack speed isn't going to be as valuable due to how quickly fights end and people get bursted. Conqueror is probably good in some matchups but Lethal Tempo will help you be stronger in lane which helps you get ahead and win games but I'll have to try Conqueror more this patch. I only really run Grasp of the Undying into champions like Akali, Kennen and maybe Jayce since you can't get extended trades into them making Lethal Tempo and Conqueror less valuable, but you are giving up scaling by taking Grasp of the Undying so I would limit it to these matchups only really.
Glad you liked the guide!
The new R in terms of gameplay is better since its an more involving ult in a way that you have to think more of how and when you want to use it instead of just using it before a fight to get extra resistances. Sadly the VFX are pretty bad and the animations for the 3rd auto from R are really bad too for 1350+ skins but apparently they are working on improving them so hopefully they get fixed asap. I've personally just stuck to older skins for now like Nemesis and PAX on my main.
Ravenous Hydra isn't really what Jax wants in his regular builds since the item is purely damage oriented, and you already have Blade of the Ruined King filling that spot. That item will fit into the Jak'Sho, The Protean build, where you first go Essence Reaver -> Jak'Sho, The Protean, into Ravenous Hydra, but that build requires you to snowball and be ahead since your first item really isn't all that great.
Just some simple questions to ask:
1) What are your toughts on Spear of Shojin being removed from the game?
2) What item do you think Jax is gonna use if he will not have an item that resets his CD from his abilities?
3) How much is gonna affect Jax?
4) Do you think that Hextech Gunblade will be in the build again when Spear of Shojin will be removed?
Would've been great if Riot could make an item the same as Spear of Shojin but less powerful.
That's my questions about only based on Shojin. I don't get it why they want to remove the item when its not that powerful in my opinion.
I don't have questions about the guide or something from the guide. Its a great guide, very good explained, the coding is fantastic and that's it I think. I think I will comment again when the Spear of Shojin is removed. You need to be ready to update the builds because of the item being removed.
Hope you'll respond fast or whenever you have time.
1) It is healthy for the game and honestly I've been waiting for it for a while myself. It really makes no sense having the item in the game when only a select few champs utilize the item extremely well to almost broken state. Good riddance to it.
2) Spear of Shojin will kind of stay in the game with the Cloud Drake Soul, although again you don't get to choose if you get it or not. I think for the most part Jax will go back to the build of Trinity Force + Titanic Hydra + Sterak's Gage, and you can then choose CDR items like Death's Dance, Maw of Malmortius, Spirit Visage etc since you'll be adapting your build depending on your needs.
3) It will definitely turn him weaker, but again Jax was fine before they even introduced Essence Reaver (Previous Spear of Shojin). It will make hard certain comps harder to play into but to be honest it was a bit busted to have E up permanently in fights. Jax will be probably still very playable with his old weaknesses, although we'll have to see how the Conqueror changes go through.
4) I don't think Hextech Gunblade is a good item on Jax since it's a purely offensive stat item. It's awkward to build since you'll be squishy with it through-out the build period. Sure it grants you sustain which is nice but Jax likes items that give him HP ( Sterak's Gage, Titanic Hydra etc). The item will still remain as a 4fun item imo, if you are hard snowballing/smurfing and you are confident on your victory then sure, but otherwise there are better items to build. Also I don't think the concept of Spear of Shojin should ever be introduced as a item again. They already are adding a version of it with the Dragon souls so having it as an item too would be broken. The game is far better off without it since champions like Jax, Renekton and Riven can't abuse the item.
I'll definitely be updating guides more during the pre-season, right now I'm in Season 10 waiting room :D
Onto your answers:
1) You are right here, the game will be more healthy. The item was somehow powerful because it gave you a big cdr from your skills. Let's take Jax's E as example. Let's say that his skill has 7 cd when you used it. Spear of Shojin makes his skill go to 2 seconds. But it depends, because the item needs your hits to make his job.
2) Yeah, the CDR items are great, but he will have to wait a lot for his skills to comeback jn team fighta. But as you say that the Cloud Drake will give the buff, it will be pretty OP in my opinion for others champions as like Irelia. Only my toughts, we'll see how the buff will be when we get there. We think that it can be broken, but maybe it sill not be broken.
3) Yeah, it made him weaker when his kit is a problem because its very expensive. If his enemy gets feed by 2 kills, Jax will need to farm and even take his Jungler farm brcause his kit is very powerful late. But depends, mostly of the Junglers are ignoring top and even if they have a Jax when he is supposed to be ganked in early because he sucks in early. Well, can't say about Tanks when they dominate Bruisers when it had to be vice versa. Can't say about Garen when he got more broken, no idea why they buffed him when it was already broken.
4) Yeah, you are right. Hextech Gunblade will not be in his, let's say "Standard" build. Yes, I love items that gave Jax HP. And you may be right about the build from the "2)" instead of Spear of Shojin because it has CDR and Life Steal. But you can make Hextech Gunblade useful on Jax. You may wonder how. Well, if you have no AP in your team and the enemies will buy Ninja Tabi. It may sounds stupid, don't really know. But tell me if its good or not, you are better than me on Jax. :>
Yup, I can even see that you are hyped for Season 10 to configure things from the guide. To me its not mich to edit because I only have my Pyke and Fizz guide. Anyway, let's ignore that. I Just hope Jax is still good. I even had a time when I played Jax jungler by going Trinity Force > Titanic Hydra > Sterak's Gage. Those 3 items is still making Jax viable without Spear of Shojin.
Let's talk about Conqueror as you mentioned it:
1) What do you think about the change? It is good or bad?
2) Do you think that Jax will move to Press the Attack or Lethal Tempo if Conqueror will be useless.
3) Do you think Conqueror affects Bruisers that much? Even mages as Sylas.
4) Do you think the AD stacks will be great on Jax?
I don't know why they nerfed Conqueror that hard. Its not they nerfed it so much and they of course changed to more AD each stack. Well, it can be solved with Guinsoo's Rageblade being a better version of Conqueror.
One question for you.
Are you hyped that you are near 10m views?
It may be a stupid question. Don't know if you enjoyed these questions, but here are some questions. If you like more questions about your guide and want me to tell you, I have a long list with questions ready for you. :D
1) Ever since they introduced Conqueror there has always been people who disliked it. Especially the current iteration has been a bit flawed since some champions can proc it much faster than others. Tanks have been quite obsolete for a while so I think it's okay to change it, although we'll have to see the stats it will give when it hits PBE.
2) Don't think Jax will move to Lethal Tempo at least. Press the Attack is an okey choice but I've been recently enjoying Grasp of the Undying on Jax so it's a choice as well.
3) Sure, it offers them a way to deal with resistances and also the healing part of it helps in extended fights/trades too so it really was designed for fighters. That being said when they changed it to the current iteration it benefited a lot of mages as well since they could stack it really fast. There will definitely be a difference once it is changed, although not that many mages run it anymore (thankfully).
4) Jax liked Fervor of Battle before, so the "new" Conqueror should too. Since he is an auto reliant champion he will make use of the AD for sure since he is constantly throwing autos in.
Too much true damage is unbalanced since there is no counterplay to it, hence the nerf to Conqueror's true damage was probably justified. Guinsoo's Rageblade is a pretty bad item for Jax imo, since it's purely an offensive item (just like Hextech Gunblade. Also it has a bug right now I think where Jax's ultimates 3rd hit doesn't always proc correctly.
And to answer your last question: It's really awesome and hype to see that people have found my guide helpful and new people keep finding it. When I originally created this guide I never thought it would get this popular :D
Again, I'm more than happy to answer questions so shoot if you have any and I'll do my best to answer! ^^
I never tried Grasp of the Undying on Jax. I don't know if it is good to take. I'm afraid that i'll die fast when Triumph was saving me mostly in fights. I mean, you are not obligated to take Inspiration secondary. Precision is good to take, I think...
Yeah, you're kinda right about Guinsoo's Rageblade. It doesn't really help him. If it had HP in the item, then it could be great on Jax, just saying. And I was wondering why my 3rd attack does not proc correctly. I tought I was blind or something.
Correct me if I am wrong in what I said in up there. I can sometimes be wrong. :D
Shall we go into the questions? Yeah, we should. :3
1) What do you think about Electrocute on Jax on Top? I saw many Jax enemies having Electrocute on Top. They kinda destroyed my team...
2) Can Kleptomancy be used on Jax like in the past?
3) Life steal builds on Jax are great? I had a Jax ally and buyed 3 items with life steal and he dominated.
4) Will you gonna make a build for Jax that has Life Steal? With a rune too if needed because Legend: Bloodline has Life Steal.
5) Is Hail of Blades great on Jax on Top? On Jungle we already know that is good.
6) Why don't you put the remaining rune ( Conqueror + Resolve) in your guide. I mean up with the other runes.
7) Do you think Conqueror + Domination is great on Top? I mean... You'll mostly be on Top and farm while Ravenous Hunter needs stacks... Or Relentless Hunter to get back on your lane faster. I think Relentless Hunter is better than Ravenous Hunter on Top if the rune is good to take.
8) Can Aftershock be good to take on Jax?
9) Do you think Fleet Footwork is good to take on Jax when the Conqueror gets nerfed? In my opinion, I think its bad. But let's hope Conqueror will still be a great Rune to take.
10) Do you think Jax needs buff on early? I mean, he really sucks when 1v1 with the enemy. He has a big chance to loose the fight. It depends, because Jax is always fighting with champions that are countering him or champions that are for early (ex. Kled).
11) Do you think Jax needs nerfs? If he needs, tell what it should be changed or nerfed.
12) What do you need to do if you die 2 times as an example on your lane. He cannot do anything just farm but still gets bullied by the enemy.
13) Why do Junglers ignore mostly Jax allies on their team? Because every game I get ignored by my Jungler when I ping for strong 3 minutes for a help.
14) Why does it says that Jax counters Tryndamere, but Tryndamere kills him pretty easily. Maybe Jax destroys him in late. Still I'm not really sure about this question. Why you may ask? Because I got tired of Tryndamere players hitting me with a crit at 1 pixel of his rage.
15) Which champions do Jax needs to ban? You can even tell by a list like:
Ban list of Champions based on the bullying level:
Extreme: Aatrox, Akali, etc.
Hard: Darius, Garen, etc.
Medium: Vladimir, Pyke, etc.
Easy: Sylas, Camille, etc.
[WARNING]Only if you want to make the list. You don't really need to do it.[WARNING]
Fancy announcement, eh? :3
Which number I was? I lost counting. :c
Oh, 16). :>
16) What do you think about taking Berserker's Greaves on Jax? I saw a streamer that goes with these boots and he had some really great wins with those boots. Maybe he liked attack speed builds so much. Who knows, you give the answer. xD
17) Crit items are great to take on Jax? We already know that they ain't really great on him, but you can give an explain about it if you want or just give the answer of YES or NO. As I said, "IF" you want to explain, you are free to do it. :D
18) Which role does Jax fits more on him. Top laner or Jungler. In my opinion, he is better Top because of his story fighting with people on the arena and got banned because he never lost. Till he had to choose between his weapons being:
- a fishing rod
- a chicken leg
- a lamp
- and the 4th one I forgot which one it was... :c
Hope its not a problem that I bringed his story. ^.^
I mostly get players that plays him on Jungle. But I love him on Top. I think he is better on Top.
19) Which role do you like more when playing Jax? You can say how much you like that role like this:
How much I like to play Jax on these roles:
- Top: 80%
- Jungle: 20%
In my opinion its more fun with him on Top. More challenging playing him on Top. >:D
20) Which champions should Jax ban as Jungler. You can do the same as the question with "Which champions should be banned on Top", if you want.
21) Which rune is better to take against Garen or Darius? Conqueror & Inspiration, Conqueror & Sorcery, Conqueror & Resolve, Conqueror & Domination, Grasp of the Undying + Inspiration.
22) Which rune is your favorite? Mine is Conqueror & Sorcery. :D
23) If you had to modify Conqueror, what you would adjust from the rune?
24) Do you think Jax is having a hard time farming when he gets poking champions enemies like Vladimir, Garen, Akali, etc.
You want more questions? I can give you more. :D
Why I'm really interested into your guide? Well, if you didn't know, the guide was my favorite from them all and its still favorited on google on the first page and every time when I open the internet, I always click on your guide to see what's new. When I favorited your guide? Like 1 year ago or more. Your guide was my ever first guide when using mobafire. :3
Yeah, I'm a big fan of your guide. I even wanted to start making a Jax guide but gave up because its no point making when we already have the best guide made by PH45. Who knows, maybe I will finish the guide and go between the other guides and maybe try to get under your guide with mine. But its impossible. Nobody can get past your guide. Yours is the mostly popular, a huge amount of views, and really great amount of likes. Oh, and comments too. You have many comments and I bet you had a smile every positive comment you got. Too bad that mine didn't got comments in like months.
Why did you removed your "Update log" chapter? Was it too big?
Will you celebrate when you hit 10.000.000 views? I bet you will and I can't wait for you to reach 10m. Well, even I do can't wait for my guide reaching 100k views. Small number, huh? xD
Well, why wait? Get that champagne and get drunk while celebrating.
Have you ever had toughts on getting your guide this far? I know that you are so proud of what your guide did to you to get so popular, you even made other guides on different champions. But still, the Jax guide is my favorite from your other guides.
Well, my brain does not work really well when it gets tired. And its hard to think which questions do I need to use that I even forgot some of them. Believe me or not, took me 1 hour to make this comment. But it was worth it. :D
Well, I do get happy when I answer to questions too. And I get happy when I interact with creators of some guides. Well, some of them are ignoring the comments... But didn't think that you'll be that active interacting with peoples. When I was thinking about doing the first comment on your guide I was "What if he does not respond?".
Well, if you need more questions. I will try my best to make the comment even longer. ^^
And as you wanted more questions. Here you have up there. :D
I enjoyed so much asking you these questions and interacting with you about some informations that I didn't knew or I wasn't sure about.
Also, a question from me as a main Pyke and playing him all lanes (I have a guide on him that its almost to 100k, sorry for saying about my guide, hope its not a problem). What do you think about Jax against Pyke on the lane? It may be a stupid question and has no reason about the guide. But it has Jax in it, right? :D
N-no? Ok... :c
Well, I hope you can answer them all. Hope I didn't made your brain melt after reading all of these. Again, if you want more questions, feel free to say. I will comeback too when you hit 10m views. :D
You are right, you are not obligated to take Inspiration as secondary, but personally I'm very used to having it so it feels really weird to play without it, but in some cases the Legend: Tenacity rune is just too good to pass on.
1) Personally I don't think it's that good. I've seen a korean player in D1-Master elo play only Electrocute Jax top but I don't really understand his reasoning for it. Sure Jax can proc it fast but most of the time Jax likes extended trades where runes like Conqueror really shine. So it might be viable, but there are far better options than Electrocute.
2) I never really liked Kleptomancy Jax either. It's viable sure since you can proc it easily with Empower and get extra gold and sustain but I've overall always disliked the rune due to it being RNG and overall I hate it due to champions like Kennen and Kayle just abusing it in lane.
3) Problem with lifesteal builds is that the items that grant you it grant no defensive stats otherwise, so you are purely relying on the healing instead of actual defense stats like health and resistances. Death's Dance is probably the one I'd go for if I'd have to get lifesteal but very rarely do I ever buy a lifesteal item on Jax. If the enemy comp has little to no CC then I rather go Legend: Bloodline for the lifesteal.
4) I probably won't include a lifesteal build unless the meta somehow turns Jax to build those items. As I stated in previous answer I take Legend: Bloodline if I need the lifesteal and don't need Tenacity in return.
5) I think some koreans ran Hail of Blades on Jax vs ranged top laners, but I never liked the rune on Jax either since there have just been better choices to take. I'd stick to Conqueror or Grasp of the Undying in top lane and leave Press the Attack and Hail of Blades for jungle.
6) It's due to the fact that I very very rarely run it myself even. I don't think Resolve secondary is that good in most cases, if you need it then might as well go it primary unless you absolutely need Conqueror for the true damage.
7) Problem with Ravenous Hunter and Relentless Hunter are that you need the stacks, and since you are isolated in top lane you aren't going to grab those stacks early unless you get a good Teleport gank to bot lane and get the needed stacks from there. I'd say out of the two I'd prefer Ravenous Hunter since Jax's damage is mostly single target so he is going to benefit from the rune a lot, Relentless Hunter is more aimed towards champions that need the mobility out of combat and want to ambush. While Jax can do that, Jax benefits more from the healing imo.
8) I've ran Aftershock only on Jax support. I don't really encourage to pick it but I've found some success with it :D. In top lane I wouldn't say it's that worth since if you are going Resolve as main rune tree then just go Grasp of the Undying. In bot lane you benefit from the resistances since you won't be building as much damage so you are there just to soak damage, but in top lane you want to be dealing damage as well.
9) Nah I wouldn't bother with Fleet Footwork on Jax. Grasp of the Undying does the almost the same thing except it gives you permanent HP for procs too and you get the benefits of Second Wind/ Bone Plating, since it is probably a difficult lane you would be taking Fleet Footwork into.
10) I don't think Jax needs any buffs. He already got a buff when no one asked for one and the buff was really good since now you can max W>E>Q. If he got buffed he would just be pick or ban again most likely, though it might change in pre-season although from what I tested in PBE the new Conqueror didn't feel too bad although both games I played in were hard ff's due to afk's/unlucky games. Also I didn't get to test in a tank matchup so that remains to be seen too. Also Kled isn't too bad of a matchup to Jax imo, he is annoying but you can play around his kit by dodging his Q and then Counter Strikeing his W.
11) Don't think he needs nerfs tbh, especially since Spear of Shojin is getting removed that will bring Jax down in power a good amount, and also the true damage removal from Conqueror will hurt him so those are indirect nerfs to him.
12. It's very matchup dependent, but your options really are to just turtle under tower and grab the cs/exp you can, build defensive components first to survive better, and try to maybe look for tp ganks/roams if you can't accomplish anything in your lane. Most important thing is to stop dying and maybe get good vision coverage otherwise so you can warn your teammates if your opponent is roaming since you can't really stop them if you are down in xp/gold.
13) It's probably just junglers ignoring top lane in general. Opponents really like to shut down Jax since they are afraid of his powerspikes, meanwhile your own teams junglers care more about the more impactful lanes like mid/bot since they are more near the dragon. Just the life of a top laner.
14) Jax outscales Tryndamere, but a good Tryndamere can definitely win the lane phase and win the game before Jax get's to outscale]]. Early on the matchup is more even due to Tryndamere just being able to outsustain Jax due to his Bloodlust, later on as the game progresses Jax gets his CDR and Spear of Shojin and then Jax can just deny Tryndamere most of his damage due to just Counter Strike being up so much more often. Personally I'm a fan of Tryndamere, he is my second pick usually if Jax isn't open/isn't a good pick.
15) Ehh I don't think I'll make a list, but the most annoying matchups for sure (at least to me]] are Singed, Kennen, Akali, Poppy, Heimerdinger, Ryze, and Pantheon.
16) I saw TF Blade do it, and it was for getting faster procs on Spear of Shojin, so he could just have his abilities up even faster. While it can work, I still prefer Ninja Tabi and Mercury's Treads in 99% of cases due to them offering a bit of resistances on the side and useful passives like the auto damage reduction or Tenacity.
17) Jax doesn't have synergy with crit items. Again most if not all crit items are purely offensive items, and Jax doesn't really work if he is purely damage built since he will just get blown up. The only thing really that kind of has any encouragement on buying crit on Jax is his passive that grants him attack speed, otherwise there is really no reason.
18) I think he is better in top lane overall. Jax jungle is more of a low/mid elo pick since you can get away with not doing early skirmishes there, but in higher elo people pick junglers that actually win those hard. Since Jax is aimed at late game and not early, he loses to many junglers especially early if they are just playing their cards right. Running him in jungle though gives you in some cases more "safety" to scale since you aren't constantly vs your opponent which gives you the freedom to farm unless you are getting counter jungled.
19) I like playing Jax top 90% and jungle 10%. As I stated in previous answer, Jax jungle can work in higher elos but most of then I just prefer to pick something like Hecarim etc rather than Jax if I'm jungling.
20) I don't really specifically ban any matchups in jungle unless I'm specifically annoyed by a certain champ due to an earlier game. Most often I'll just ban a strong champion in general that I don't want to face and that can be from any lane/role really.
21) I always run Conqueror + Inspiration into both matchups, although I've been banning Garen recently so I don't have to lane vs him.
22) I like Conqueror and Inspiration the most, since it's a good mix for lane phase and late game. Inspiration helps you in lane and Conqueror gives you more power for late game.
23) Never really thought about that. I've always considered true damage to be stupid since there is no counter to it, but it sucks to see it go from Conqueror. So maybe I would've brought the percentage down a bit more from the current version and maybe upped the healing by a percentage or two, although I'm not a balance designer so this might've just been a stupid choice :D The current iteration on PBE seems definitely worse since I think (if I correctly understood with the quick glance) the healing applies after migitation meaning you'll heal less if they have a lot of resistances so that makes the rune worse vs resistance stackers.
24) Sure it makes farming hard if you are put under constant poke since you have to reset more often due to running out of sustain. Vs Vladimir I don't think it's as hard since I just try to keep perma agroing on him with Grasp of the Undying to keep him at bay since he isn't as strong early, and vs Akali I try to pressure her into using her W and then fighting her. Vs Garen you can somewhat farm but the current version of Garen is really obnoxious to lane against and he can just bully you around even if you block his Q since his E is just so strong at the moment.
Cool to see people liking the guide, it has definitely been a long time since I created this and I've worked on it a lot, although recently with being in school and focusing on streaming I've been doing less things here on MF, although I'm trying to get back to it. I'd say definitely write your guide on Jax as well. It doesn't have to be about it doing well, but just for the fun. I never thought my guide would make it, but I just made it out of interest to Jax and out of the enjoyment of playing him.
I removed the update log since it started to look really cluttered due to it being there almost since the start of the guide.
Don't think I'll celebrate it in any special way to be honest. Of course it's awesome to hit big milestones like that but I'm not much of a drinker outside very special occasions like New Year and so on :D
Like I told you, I never thought my guide would get this much attention, but it slowly kept getting more attention and I kept improving it and here we are. This guide is definitely my favorite out of the ones I created since this is by far the one that I've put most effort and work into (obviously since it's the oldest out of the bunch too :D).
Trust me it took a long time for me to compile this answer too, I think I'm 45 minutes in into this atm.
If you got questions you can shoot em at me, but maybe a bit less at time since it takes a long time to write answers into this long comments :D. Definitely cool though that you are this interested in my answers!
Jax vs Pyke is quite an annoying lane for Jax since Pyke is just really slippery so it's hard to take him down, although the recent nerf to his grey health healing makes the lane much more doable for Jax and thankfully I don't see Pyke top lane really ever anymore since it was really annoying always to face one.
I think I got them all, my brain didn't melt, it just took a bit of waking me up since I slept a bit too little last night, all good though and thanks for the questions. Again, if you got more you can shoot em at me but maybe just a bit less at a time :D
It really seem like you love to answer question. We can fill a library while doing this. xD
Onto your lovely answers.
(Only answering the questions that needs to talk about, the others are already great explained)
1) Yeah, but saw so many Jax players in my games with Electrocute and they we're dominating so hard. I think they scare the enemy with Electrocute hitting them when doing Jax his combo. Still don't know how Electrocute works that great on some people. Can't blame them. They are playing their way. xD
2) Koreans are using Kleptomancy on Jax. Heck, these runes are viable for them but for us EU? Small world huh? But Kennen is not broken because of his damage or his build. But because of Kleptomancy. He gets mana potions, right? He is based on energy. What happens with the mana potions? He freaking transform them into sack of golds. Broken meta tbh.
3) Yeah, that's what I tought to myself with life steal builds. You can be one shotted without armor or health in those items. I bring Legend: Alacrity when the enemy team has no CC because of attack speed. :3
4)Yeah, I think its better idea to not make builds on life steal. Jax being tanky is better.
It is ok if I will get into the questions? I mean, I read every lovely answer and understood everything. :D
Onto the questions:
As said 10 questions per comment to not make you stay a lot again. xD
1) What do you think the new Kleptomancy from Preseason?
2) What do you think about the new Aftershock? Would be good on Jax?
3) Phase Rush on Jax?
4) Would you replace your screenshots from your runes chapters? They have Coup de Grace in there. xD
5) Why Jax was using Ignite in the past (like this early 2019) and now he moved to Teleport.
6) What will you choose between Coup de Grace and Last Stand? Which is better? (In my opinion Last Stand because it gives you the opportunity to clutch a 1v2)
7) Do you think Jax's items are very expensive? For me are extremely expensive.
8) Which skins on Jax are your favorite? Can I tell which are mine that I own on him? Free to answer.
9) Jax being bullied by Garen more aggressive when he moved to Conqueror. Do you think he still needs nerfs after the recent ones? I will say yes.
10) What do you think about facing mid laners enemies (ex. Zed, Yasuo, Talon, Pyke, etc)?
As promised, I made the comment with 10 questions. :D
And thank you for giving me the courage to unarchive the Jax guide when I gave up being the 8th guide at the list. It's published, you can take a look if you want.
2) It's good that it's aimed more at tanks so we can finally get rid of Lux support. I don't think it'll be that good on Jax. While you will get some resistances and bonus HP as Jax, I don't think it's enough beneficial other than in very specific situations/matchups.
3) In theory it sounds good and it could be a good option into matchups you have to stick onto targets. Problem again is that Jax really likes his keystones that do damage, and while you can stick onto your targets better if you won't deal damage then whats the use really. I've personally never tried it out but it could be decent into champions like Singed maybe.
4) Ah another careless mistake, will try to remember to fix it. :D
5) Teleport got nerfed and everyone transitioned into using Ignite since the nerf on Teleport felt so bad. Then slowly people realized that Teleport is still decent and started moving back to it due to it's benefits. Also people moved back to Teleport due to Ignites damage getting nerfed.
6) I run Last Stand really every time since you'll most of the time be in the middle of the fights as Jax so you should be getting a good amount of value from it in most cases since you aren't going to stay full HP.
7) They are expensive. Trinity Force is a strong item so naturally it's going to cost a pretty penny. This is one of the reason why Jax is a scaling champion since he requires his items to function to his fullest potential.
8) Feel free to tell which are your favorites. I own all Jax skins, and I would rank them in this order out of personal preference:
Top tier: PAX Jax (I like the theme and the look of the skin, also the rarity), Nemesis Jax (Just due to the look and the fluidity for me at least), God Staff Jax (Looks really nice but feels clunky at times, also currently his autos don't make a sound always so it's confusing at times)
Mediocre tier: Angler Jax (Autos feel a bit bad to me at least, otherwise decent skin, Jaximus (The skins backstory is cool and the extra voiceline is nice, although in-game it isn't the best looking skin), Temple Jax (Nothing special really, looks decent in-game)
Not a fan of: The Mighty Jax (He looks weird without his cape), Vandal Jax (A recolor of base Jax with a different weapon), SKT T1 Jax (The auto sounds are nice, esp the 3rd ult hit but otherwise not a fan of how it looks in-game), Warden Jax (Looks bulky and I never just really liked the look, theme colorwise is nice but just don't like the look).
9) Yes, he still needs nerfs imo. While his winrate fell down he is still really obnoxious to lane against due to his E. Of course I'm not a judge of how to balance the game but I think the 4 damage off from his spin isn't enough of a nerf.
10) Haven't had much lanes like these. Out of the bunch I feel Zed is relatively easy early since when he uses his Living Shadow you can force his Flash with an all-in. At level 6 he becomes more of a threat but I feel you can take him down quite easily unless he snowballs.
Yasuo is a more common matchup. Jax wins it after early levels since Yasuo can poke you out of auto range with his Q, and kite you in your minion wave. Best way to fight him is when there aren't minions around for him to dash to. After 6 you hit harder thanks to your ult and early Ninja Tabis hurt his damage a lot.
Talon is a bit tricky after 6 due to his stealth and his constant poke with his W is annoying, but again Ninja Tabi helps a lot and your Counter Strike also reduces his W and ult damage, although you should make sure to hit your stun on him since he is slippery as hell which makes him hard to kill.
And as I think I previously said back when Pyke top was a thing it was an annoying matchup due to his constant healing and slipperiness which made killing him nearly impossible. Thankfully his healing got nerfed now so I think the lane would be overall more manageable these days.
Also grats on releasing your guide! :D
Skins that I own on Jax:
Tier:
The ones that I love: SKT T1 Jax & God Staff Jax.
The ones that I don't really like them looking: Nemesis Jax, Warden Jax.
The ones that I like them: Temple Jax.
Questions time!
1) I saw TFBlade going Hail of Blades against rangers. Do you think Hail of Blades could be good on Top only against Rangers? It might be since you'll be doing 3 hits instead of 1.
2) What secondary rune can be good to take on Jax as Jungler? I saw many people going Inspiration and Resolve(???).
3) What enemies do you want mostly to face against?
4) Do you managed to make a build on Jax when played on PBE?
5) What matchups do you think are harder for Jax on his lane? Talking about your enemy. Only him. The AD, AP or Full Tank?
6) Dr. Mundo is a problem for Jax? I think mostly on early because he will bully Jax and does a lot of damage early. But on late, that's a next level of undying.
7) Do you think his abilities needs some reworks? If you do, feel free to say.
8) His passive needs a nerf or a buff? Its balanced. But hey! Since you love interacting with my questions? I got one. :D
9) As we said that Jax has his items expensive. Which item would you modify his price? (ex. Trinity Force = 3000 g)
10) Will you forget to replace your screenshots from the rune chapter? Bringed that to not forget. :D
Hey! I'm a main Pyke. Why you are so mean to him. ;-;
Well, to be said, Pyke is only annoying when having Hail of Blades. Why? Because he will deal a damage like a truck and you don't know what to do next. Since I even moved to Hail of Blades from Unsealed Spellbook + Resolve because it felt outdated... Also, they killed him with that nerf. Didn't knew that will affect his main role. From 50% winrate to 43% next to Yuumi. At least Yuumi can eat some fish if Pyke will fish for her. Right?
Psst… I have a guide on him since I bringed these words "I am a Pyke main". I have a guide on him. If you want to see it, just press on these not suspicious words "Free candy". >.>
And a question for you:
How much it took you to make the guide when first time making it.
Thank you! Soon, my guide will get past you! In like 10 years or so. xD
2) I take Domination most of the time with Sudden Impact and Ravenous Hunter. Since you are jungling chances are you can actually stack Ravenous Hunter and getting that slight extra pen when you Leap Strike is a nice benefit. I really don't know why people run Resolve while jungling, and Inspiration is mostly taken for Cosmic Insight and Magical Footwear.
3) Other bruisers and some juggernauts are probably the matchups that are the most fun. Sure some annoyances like Riven and Illaoi etc pop up every once in a while but I'll take one of those melee matchups anyday over something like Kennen matchup.
4) I didn't get too far. I think I got Trinity Force, Tiamat and Sterak's Gage one game but my games were quick losses due to rage quits or overall just due to my team getting stomped.
5) Full tanks are always boring since after the 1 or 2 bases they become more tanky and eventually they just might hug the tower where you can't really kill them. That being said tanks aren't the hardest matchups out of the bunch since you can just buy Tiamat and keep them shoved in. AP matchups are hard early since you either invest in MR and lack your core items for a while, or buy your core and get poked to oblivion.
6) I haven't lost to a Dr. Mundo in a while in lane, although than again I see him so rarely. Just buying an early Executioner's Calling if he is an issue always helps and just not taking his Q poke by staying behind minions helps.
7) I don't think they really need any work on them. His kit is fairly simple but effective. I'm sure down the line when Jax maybe some day gets his visual update they will do a small update on him gameplay-wise but as of now I can't really say what they would change about him.
8) Yeah I don't think it needs any work, it's just fine :D
9) If we would want to modify the price of Trinity Force, some stats from it would have to be lost which Jax really doesn't want as he benefits from all of the stats. Sadly bruisers just naturally have costly items in most cases (mainly Trinity Force users. I wouldn't really want to modify any of the items prices since they offer really good stats and passive's for the prices, although they are costly.
10) Fixed it finally :P
Pyke in general is fairly annoying champion to deal with due to his slipperiness and gold sharing mechanic.
And for the final question: I can't honestly remember. I read a lot of BBCode guides and looked at templates before I even started writing my guide. I just wrote stuff on it whenever something popped on my mind.
