Sometimes dont you wish to want a karthus on your team. With this build you are a one man team.
Warning: dont build collector if you are behind (more death, less farm than enemy jungler, less than 2 kills at 10 mins) and your team has zero tank champions.
Reason 1:
Passive: Iron ambassador: 20-180 magic damage
Runes: dark harvest 20-80based on level + 5 damage per soul , coup de grace (deal 8% increased damage to enemy below 40% max health)
Item: deadmans plate0-40damage+0-100% base AD+bonus physical damage on-hit (Triggered by sundered sky), sundered sky 55 AD, collector 60AD+ below 5% health=execute
All parts adds to around 300-500 hp damage. Imagine a low hp caitlyn who only has a max hp of 2399 hp, thinks she flashed, 90 caliber net out of the fight and you just speed up and throw your passive that doesnt miss and it one shots her. Your passive or w>e>q combo would deal 25% of her hp.
No one can see that coming.
Reason 2:
Poppy main job is to protect your carries as a tank. You shouldn't be the one taking kills. Having one lethality item collector allows you to secure kills. Also I would ult the enemy tank out of the fight first then charge at the adc or apc.
Reason 3:
I really like the 20% crit chance. So for every 5 passive throws 1 passive will crit the enemy. other items that do 20% crit are for adc like immortal shieldbow, lord dom, karaken slayer which give you stats that great on poppy (ability haste, attack speed, restore mana, bonus magic damage).
Reason 4:
Even with the extra 100 gold cost, for every kill, Triumph rune gives you 20 gold, collector gives you 25 gold. After 2.5 kills, it equals to old price.
1. You are the first person to initiate the fight. You would need that shield to take on some initial damage.
2. Blue gives you movement speed after you leave the bush is good but you are not playing a glass cannon/assassin, so green giving you a permanent shield would be a better choice.
3. The most common way for us to get kills are on adc and apc. Once we can take on all the initate burst from the carries with our shields, the carries are just standing there for you to kill.
4. Your w and deadmans plate is enough to catch up to any champ.
5. It would be worth it to have buff if the movement speed was early game. However, the movement speed is after you completed the jungle item. By that time you would have already gotten deadmans and boots.
