Champion Build Guide
Oversight
Thank you oh so much for chosing to browse through my guide, you lil' Kog'champ! Please take in to consideration that all the effort i have put into this guide is based on my expiriences as a Kog'Maw onetrick. Builds and runes are subject to change based on meta shifts, game dynamics and general player preference. I do not expect you to follow my itemization guide word for word, but would rather you play to your own preferences and allow my expiriences add diversity and perspective to your method of play. If you are a beginer to our beloved Kog'maw, i hope my material acts as a helpful insight when it comes to playing the champ and performing in games. Lots of love my little Kog'lings <3
Ability's and leveling tip
Kog'maw's W, Bio-Arcane Barrage, is the bread and butter when it comes to playing Kog'maw. Consistant Kog'maw players may already know how to effectively use this spell, however, its essential for a newer player to learn how to manipulate the range and damage it provides as well as manage its usage on cooldown at early levels. Not only does it exhibit offencive pressure, but it also allows you to farm from a more safe distance when in unsafe situations. This ability should always be your first to max and you need to be making sure you maximise its value while its duration is active.
Despite the w max, there is an occasion where you can put two points into q at early levels. If you end up fighting alot for some reason, two levels in q are actually very useful for multiple reasons. Firsly the damage from an early game q is not terrible with a fair amount of range too. Secondly, the resist shred is valuable when in a skirmish as it effectively amplifies your damage output. Lastly, it increases the amount of attackspeed gained by its passive bonus, meaning you can get off more attacks in the duration than you would if you invested those levels into w.

Building on Kog'maw
As of current patch in S13, i am rushing berserker's into Blade of the Ruined King. I do this as it is consistant and i find the item has a lot of value. The flat AD is always helpful when farming and provides damage when your w is not active. Attack speed is always a priotity on Kog, and his high rate of attacks lets you get off BORK's active very fast, allowing you to lockdown and wittle away a target. The lifesteal adds a level of survival into his kit too, which is always helpful.
Just because i adore BORK, does not mean you need to rush it. In fact, running Rageblade first is completly viable too. Its cheaper therefore provides an earlier spike and at full, applies on hit affects twice, pairing nicely with the crit-conversion and your w. It has'nt the flat AD and utility of BORK, but if you want to rush it, by all means go for it.
From here, things get situational. If you desire waveclear and AOE damage, i like to rush hurricane after BORK+rageblade. The crit is converted into bonus onhit and the passive allows you to cover some weakness. Overall, its stats are generaly very benaficial for Kog'maw aswell. You can also opt for something more protective such as wits end vs heavy AP comps.
When it comes to mythic itmes, options are limited. Kraken overall has the best damage output due to its passive procking quite regularly thanks to Kog'maws attack speed. Galeforce is rarely to be used, however, is fun and wacky and can be used as a get away to compensate for the lack of mobility (but still not recomended). The most reliable mythic on Kog'maw would be Immortal Shieldbow thanks to its potent lifesteal and passive. It helps protect against burst damage and provides additional HP for each legendary item purchased. Jak'sho can also be viable if you require the tanky route, but will not outperform dps mythics most of the time. Due to the way Kog'maw plays, it is not a requirement to rush a mythic item or even build one at all during a game. I would advise steering away from frostfire gauntlet as it is a poopy item on maw.
When it comes to lategame, do not fear building defencively. Your damage should be consistant enough that items with no offenssive stats can still be very potent due to keeping our boi alive for longer. More tanky items will also help buff up titanic hydra, so if you wish to follow a tanky route, ensure you have this item in your clutches.
