This Guide
I have played amatuer and love the educational side of League of Legends. I want this guide to be constantly growing, so please ask questions about Sett and continue to involve how he is played Everything in this guide is from my own knowledge on the champ. As i continue to play and get better at this champ i will continue to update my guide.
Abilties
Passive-
begins attacking with a Left Punch, and will reset back to it after 2 seconds of not performing a Right Punch.

Sett's Right Punch gains Range icon.png 50 bonus range, unless Knuckle Down Knuckle Down is active, attacks at 8 times the Left Punch's attack speed, and deals 5 − 90 (based on level) (+ 50% bonus AD) bonus physical damage.

INNATE - HEART OF THE HALF-BEAST: Sett Health regeneration icon.png regenerates an additional 「 0.25 / 0.5 / 1 / 2 (based on level) health per second for every 5% of his Health icon.png missing health. 」

Q-
CTIVE: Sett empowers his next two basic attacks within 5 seconds to gain Range icon.png 50 bonus range and deal bonus physical damage, capped at 400 total damage of each attack against Monster icon.png monsters.(bug)

BONUS PHYSICAL DAMAGE:»
10 / 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 (+ 1% (+ 1 / 1.5 / 2 / 2.5 / 3% per 100 AD) of target's maximum health)
Sett Looking for a Fight.png
For 1.5 seconds, Sett also gains Movement speed icon.png 30% bonus movement speed when he moves towards Sight icon.png visible enemy Champion icon.png champions within 2000 units.

Knuckle Down Fiora Bladework.png resets Sett's basic attack timer. The empowered attacks are guaranteed to be a Left Punch followed by a Right Punch, resetting Sett's current Pit Grit Pit Grit state (if applicable) and ignoring the usual time-out period for a follow-up Right Punch.

W-
PASSIVE: Sett stores 100% of post-mitigation damage taken as Grit on his resource bar, up to 50% of his Health icon.png maximum health. Each instance of stored Grit decays by 30% every second after 4 seconds.

Sett Haymaker.png
ACTIVE: Sett immediately gains a Hybrid resistances icon.png shield equal to his expended Grit for 3 seconds, decaying after 0.75 seconds, and charges up a strike over the cast time.

After the cast time, he unleashes a blast in a cone in the target direction, dealing physical damage to enemies within the area, and Critical strike true icon.png true damage instead to all those in the center.

E-
ACTIVE: Sett Airborne icon.png pulls in enemies at his front and back in the target direction, dealing them physical damage and Slow icon.png slowing them by 50% for 0.5 seconds.

PHYSICAL DAMAGE:
50 / 70 / 90 / 110 / 130 (+ 60% AD)
If Facebreaker affects at least one enemy on each side, all enemies are Stun icon.png stunned for 1 second upon landing.

Sett is unable to move or attack for 0.25 seconds after Facebreaker's cast time.

R-
ACTIVE: Sett Suppression icon.png suppresses and True Sight icon.png reveals the target enemy Champion icon.png champion and Dash.png dashes with Unstoppable icon.png displacement immunity to their location, Yuumi You and Me!.png attaching them to himself on arrival and carrying them another 600 units in the same direction. Upon completing the dash, Sett slams the target into the ground, creating a massive shockwave at the impact area and quickly Dash.png slides another 250 units beyond the impact location.

Enemies within the epicenter take Critical strike physical icon.png physical damage, and those outside of the epicenter but within the impact area take physical damage that is reduced by up to 75% based on distance from it. All targets hit are Slow icon.png slowed by 99% for 1 second.

PHYSICAL DAMAGE:»
200 / 300 / 400 (+ 120% bonus AD) (+ 40 / 50 / 60% of primary target's bonus health)
The dash will end and create the impact prematurely upon encountering terrain that cannot be dashed through, whether by distance or invalid space.
Laning
Look to Use your E into auto cancels with setts passive and q then w to finish the trade. Also look to abuse your hexflash and repeat this pattern off of cooldowns.
Items
Turbo Chemtank
This is a great item on Sett, it is substantially more powerful than Shurelya's Battlesong, but it comes with a hefty pricetag, 500 gold more. However if you have gotten ahead and/or fed then this item is definitely the best choice. It makes you much tankier and the immolate passive allows you to deal a lot of damage too! It also has better engage, as the movement speed increase is higher and doesn't decay, but remember it only affects you, so you may end up leaving your allies behind! This is okay when you have ult though, as you can simply catch the enemy, CC them, and then direct your ult in a favourable way to get your team onto them for a kill!

Knight's Vow
The bread and butter of Sett's support build path, it provides innate peel for whichever carry you deem worthy of such an honour and also gives you movement speed toward them, as well as HP, and as we saw earlier, Sett scales great with HP on his W.

Deadmans Plate
Amazing stats for sett. The movement speed health and armor help him stay alive in fight. Helps him grace across the map for plays as well. One of the best items to buy on sett and it is often built first.

Thornmail
The most common tank item I build on Sett (after Dead Man's Plate of course) due to the fact that enchanters are strong on botlane right now. If your ADC is stubbornly refusing to buy anti-heals, then going for Thornmail, or even just holding onto a cheap Bramble Vest will give you antiheals that can swing both early trades and late teamfights alike. Remember, it is important to be flexible in your builds and really think about what is necessary

Plated Steelcaps
The first and most common defensive choice. Personally I only build these into full AD comps but I always build these into full AD comps. Even when ahead these are just a fantastic build when the enemy are all physical damage auto-attackers and bringing your own engage potential down a little to absolutely nuke their damage is an awesome trade, so don't be afraid of this even when you're ahead Also a good pick into double AD botlanes like Senna or Pyke support

Mercury's Treads
Great into heavy CC botlane comp's, it's the best way to buy tenacity on Sett and because you won't be getting any from the runes these must be on your radar if the enemy has lots of ways to lock you down.
Runes
Phase Rush gives a big speed boost and 75% slow resistance when activated by attacking the same enemy champion 3 times in 3 seconds. This is great for Sett as it allows you to stick in Auto Attack range for hard engages, but also to exit swiftly and safely during in-lane trades or engages gone wrong.

Now of course we take Nimbus Cloak. For the reasons we stated earlier it's a fantastic rune, synergising with Flash and Hextech Flashtraption to make it a truly necessary pick on Sett Support in my opinion.

Once again, celerity just makes the benefits you get from Phase Rush, Nimbus Cloak, boots, Dead Man's Plate and your Q - Knuckle Down that much better. Sett loves movement speed and so he loves Celerity

Finally we'll select Waterwalking. You're probably noticing a pattern by now, but I'll reiterate. Sett really uses this movement speed. Waterwalking especially gives him movement speed where he needs it, in the river for roaming, warding and fighting over drake. Gathering Storm isn't very good because Sett cannot scale well and Scorch isn't good because Set cannot poke well, meaning it's our only viable choice, but it's a good one.

The Inspiration tree is of course our secondary, giving us the Hextech Flashtraption rune for our engage and gank potential. Secondly we will usually go Future's Market.
Why Sett
Now let’s talk about Why Sett works as a support, after all he’s meant to be a toplaner and jungler right? Well first up, his kit has a little bit of everything, he’s got good tankiness and early game fighting strength, he has great lane sustain to protect him from ranged matchups and he has hard and soft cc. His W also makes his a fantastic tower diver, especially when combined with an ADC that can burst a lot of damage while Sett tanks two full healthbars in one fight.

Because of this he doesn’t need items to be relevant in lane and is great on a support’s low gold income. That said, he does drop off into the mid and late game, especially when you finish your support item and your gold earnings drop off a cliff, so it’s worth noting that your playstyle will be very different to a toplaners.

So When should we be picking Sett? Sett is not the safest first pick, very long range mages counter him due to his inability to engage them and their unwillingness to engage him, but he survives better than others in his category due to his health regen passive. Therefore I’d suggest picking sett when you at least know the enemy support. If they have a squishy healer who is vulnerable to a big engage then you’re in the money. He’s also great into engages such as Blitzcrank, Leona, Nautilus etc who’s Q only serves to engage for Sett and he can often come out on top. He also works great into Ezreal, who can be a slippery little fella at the best of times and suffers against Sett’s suppression and ability to control the direction of the fight. On the other hand sett struggles against champions that want to be engaged upon, such as Taric and Braum.

Sett’s biggest issue as support is his engage. For this reason, the combination of Hexflash, Nimbus Cloak, Celerity and his Q makes Sett truly shine and is 100% necessary to make him work on botlane. This gives sett a solid and reliable engage mechanic and once he gets onto an ADC he isn’t letting go.
