Introduction
If you do know me, you probably hate me because I troll, but not like Trundle. I don't like that guy.
SO! Here I am.
My name is Netorare Man and this is my Ezreal guide.
DISCLAIMER |
This is a DOMINION guide. If you don't know the Dominion Meta and such, I suggest you read Nekrogen's Outdated Dominion beginner's guide! and if you have already read that, but still doesn't fully understand it, read Sauron's outdated Dominion guide! They're both somewhat outdated, but should still serve their purpose of explaining the basics, at least. Anyways, everybody looking for an Summoner's Rift build/guide on Ezreal is not at the right spot not really, but really.
THE PROS+ 550 Autoattack Range + Can go duel at bottom lane or go help his fellow top teammates + Low cool-down (max level + CDR) blink + Has the ability to kite easily + "Tons of Damage" - Phreak + He's sexy He has 550 attack range, which means that he is a ranged champion. This means that he can attack from afar. Hooray! That can ruin other people's lives by being their downfall, which is very fun. He can go bottom lane to duel and he's pretty good at it with his Mystic Shot or he could go top and poke/damage at the windmill. His Arcane Shift is very low cool-down, once you achieve 5 Levels (by level 13) in it, and the most Cool-down reduction that this build will offer (40% with Ionian). His Mystic Shot gives him the ability to hit the enemy while not getting hurt. This is good as we don't like to take damage, but rather deal it. He will also deal "tons of damage" - Phreak, which is always good because ladies love men who have tons of damage. Even better, he's super sexy sex. Let's face it, those kneecaps on Striker Ezreal are just too sexy for my noxus to handle. Everybody will be all over you, literally. |
THE CONS- 75% abilities are skillshot - Squishy - Slow compared to many other champions - Low mana pool (until we buy mana items) - All of his abilities scale off Ability Power, while only half scale off Attack Damage - He's sexy (will get focused) All of his abilities besides Arcane Shift require aiming to actually hit the target. As nearly all Attack Damage Carries (ADc), he is very squishy. Which is why we build the tanky items. His movement speed is 330. That's not too bad, but there is always better. A Darius or Jayce or Pantheon or Jax will be your demise. His mana pool is arguable small. That is, until we buy items like Iceborn Gauntlet. My build is built for Attack Damage, hence Black Cleaver, Maw of Malmortius and The Lightbringer. This means only Iceborn gauntlet will give you the ability for the extra damage for your Essence Flux and Arcane Shift. Unfortunately, he's sexy sex. This means other male champions like Taric are jealous and focus you while females, such as Sona, are possessive and will yandere the **** out of you. AND WHEN I SAY YANDERE, I MEAN KILL EVERYBODY YOU LOVE SO YOU WILL ONLY LOVE HER. Moving on.. |
Ability Explanation
-
Rising Spell Force (Passive): Each time one of your spells hit an enemy unit (can be anything including neutrals), Ezreal gains a stack which increases his attack speed up to 5 stacks.
-
Mystic Shot (Q): Ezreal fires a bolt of energy in a straight line that will deal physical damage and apply on-hit effects to the first enemy it hits. If it hits an enemy unit, all of Ezreal's cool-downs (including Mystic Shot will be reduced by 1 second.
-
Essence Flux (W): Ezreal fires a wave of energy in a straight line. It travels past everything, but will not damage neutral creeps, allied minions, and enemy minions. Any enemy champions it passes through are dealt magic damage, while any allied champions it travels through have their attack speed increased for 5 seconds.
-
Arcane Shift (E): Ezreal "blinks" to a nearby place with a shot being fired at the nearest target.
- Trueshot Barrage (R): Ezreal charges for 1 second to fire a powerful broad energy missile that will travel in a line across the whole map and will deal magic damage to each enemy unit they pass through. It will deal 8% less damage for each subsequent target hit, down to a minimum of 30% damage dealt.
Ability Sequence Order
It should be somewhat self explanatory, but Trueshot Barrage is Ezreal's ultimate. As being Ezreal's ultimate, like all ultimates, can only be leveled up at the levels of: 6, 11, and 16. Now then, Mystic Shot is 2nd most wanted spell you want to level up. Why? Lower cool-down and higher damage! This means you can kite people, spam ALL your spells more, and do more damage then before. Moving on, you may question me by asking "Why max Arcane Shift rather than Essence Flux?". Well, I personally believe that Arcane Shift benefits more than the latter. You may ask me, "How so?" like a smart*** (just kidding). Anyways, just think about it. While Essence Flux deals more damage when you level it up, with that debuff, more likely, it's better to cast it to help your allies. This means, you usually will cast it to help allies or stop enemies from capturing a point. Now, Arcane Shift will do more damage just like Essence Flux when you level it up, but the utility of the ability is just outstanding. You can flash over walls which allows escapes or chases. You can juke enemies and dodge their spells. The list is endless (actually it is) of what you can do with it. |
Revive is a MUST. When you reach to the top and fight, you will die. When you die, you will come back up and immediately have a health advantage. Imagine if your entire team had it. That's pretty much a potential 8v4 at the windmill. One may argue that flash or ghost is completely better and has a lower cool-down. YOUR MOM HAS A LOWER COOL-DOWN. YEAH WHAT UP? Jokes aside, while this may be true, you lose the free movespeed bonus and 250-560 extra health (you must take Summoner's Insight ). That extra health will save your life. Besides, by the time you respawn without revive, the enemy team will have gone back to heal after killing you, which does not benefit you as they are full fit to fight you again. Anyways, the cool-down is only 9 minutes long. This means, in an average game, you can use this 2 times. That's pretty good and will definitely allow comebacks from a close defeat or from the enemies losing to winning. |
Exhaust is what every champion hates. What does it do? Everything you hate. But let's look more in-depth. It slows you down by 30%. Not a whole big deal. It lowers Attack Speed by 50%? Well hot damn, this will definitely annoy many autoattackers that are attacking your team or self. It also lowers attack damage by 30%. This means even less damage from Attack Damage champions. Not only does it just lower attack damage dealt, but it also lowers abilities and item damage by 30%. This means mages deal less damage. Why not love this summoner spell? |
Garrison: Garrison is another choice (instead of Exhaust), but usually when your tank does not take it. It's best on tanks as if somebody on your team goes to gank bot and you already have the windmill, if the tank stays near there, it will be hard for the enemy to capture the point, especially if the tank has Garrison. Although I believe Exhaust is wholeheartly, fully, completely better; Garrison can definitely be useful for Ezreal because of all his abilities, being able to stop their capture from afar. He will be a huge annoyance. |
What I use is:
The Greater Mark of Attack Damage are not necessary, armor penetration is okay as well.
The Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed can be anything you want, honestly. I like movement speed because I hate being slow. Being slow makes you more vulnerable to death.
The Greater Seal of Armor is for that survivability against bruisers that deal physical damage. They are what you despise early on. They become easier to deal with later as you obtain Iceborn Gauntlet.
The Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist helps you survive better into late game because most Ability Power champions don't deal an extreme amount of damage at level 3 or 4. As the game progresses, they deal more, but that's where the magic resist level comes into play.

Cool-down reduction boots? Thank you very much. Will help you achieve max Cool-down Reduction. |
Super duper pooper kiting abilities, yay! Plus the stats aren't too shabby if I say so myself, if you know what I'm saying. |
The item from the "dark times". Do not defy the evil forces of this item. |
That new passive is really cool. It upgrades from Grez's Spectral Lantern which allows better scaling into late game. |
Low on Magic Resist? NOT ANYMORE, just kidding. But atleast it gives SOME Magic Resist and a super cool shield! |
Tanks giving you too much trouble? Well even if you buy this, they will still give you some trouble (and make it double?), but atleast it will be less trouble than before. |
So, you may wonder, why should I buy so-and-so item?
Well....................
Prospector's Blade
It gives health, lifesteal, and damage. It's pretty much a better Doran's Blade. And you get to buy boots with it and 2 health pots! :D
Boots of Speed
... Moving on.
Berserker's Greaves
Zerkers are cheap. They cost only 550 gold once you buy Boots of Speed. It gives Attack Speed. Attack Speed is cool. I like Attack Speed.
Ionian Boots of Lucidity, on the other hand, costs 700 gold once you buy Boots of Speed, but it gives Cool-down Reduction. Cool-down Reduction is amazing on Ezreal, letting him spam his abilities more faster. If you do happen to buy Ionian Boots of Lucidity, then good for you because it gives the last 15% on for max cool-down reduction. You should definitely sell your Berserker's Greaves after you probably Black Cleaver.
Sheen
You usually would've died by now giving you the extra health once you pop your revive. If not, it's still fine. Sheen gives mana (Always good), ability power (Not bad, gives more damage on all your abilities), and the extra damage when you hit something with your Mystic Shot.
Ruby Crystal
By now, the extra health from Revive should be gone. If not, more hp the merrier. It'll make you more beefier and will build into Black Cleaver later.
Glacial Shroud
This gives mana (always good), armor (even better), and Cool-down Reduction (best). And what it builds into is beast.
Iceborn Gauntlet
It has almost all the stats Ezreal could want. It's one of Ezreal's core items that's a must have.
Armor, mana, Ability power, Cool-down Reduction, but most IMPORTANTLY the AoE slow that procs on your Mystic Shot. It gives amazing kiting power as it slows whatever you hit in an area of snow?/ice?. It also helps clear AoE-wise faster as it damages close nearby enemies even if its just by a little bit.
Brutalizer
It's a really strong item on Ezreal. It gives Armor penetration, Cool-down reduction, and Attack Damage. What's not to like about it? Plus it costs 1337 gold. 1337 op.
Black Cleaver
This is another major core item on Ezreal, the first being Iceborn Gauntlet.
It's not as over-powered as before back during the "dark times" where everybody stacked it, but it's still very good as a single-bought item. It gives: health, armor penetration, attack damage, and cool-down reduction. It's really good especially your auto-attacks and Mystic Shot deals physical damage.
Vampiric Scepter
It has the basic damage from longsword, but it gives you lifesteal. Lifesteal heals you when you damage enemies. Yay. It also builds into one of two items (depends on situation for either item).
Grez's Spectral Lantern -> Lightbringer
Grez's Lantern/ Lightbringer is an excellent item for vision. You can use it for jungle-vision or finding out stealth champions such as Akali. It gives armor too, why not? The more armor, the better.
One should buy Sanguine Blade when you are doing extremely well and your team has items such as Hextech Sweeper or Grez's Spectral Lantern for vision. It's Bloodthirster of Dominion.
Hexdrinker
It's basically the magic-resist item that you will need to buy. Being a glass cannon is fun and all and you deal "Tons of damage" - Phreak, but is it really worth it? There are multiple bruisers and gap-closers in this game and most likely will be able to instagib you. Therefore one must become tanky and be able to survive the bruiser/gap-closer.
Maw of Malmortius
This item is the upgraded version of Hexdrinker. More Magic resist, more attack damage, and a better passive. Yes please.
Last whisper
The game should have ended by now, but if it has not; to obtain this item, one must sell their Prospector's Blade. Although you lose the Lifesteal and Health, you gain more attack damage and the armor penetration. This mathematically will give you more damage. Besides, the 200 health and 5% lifesteal isn't much of a big deal by now.

Being a ranged champion, Ezreal can utilize that to his advantage. Unfortunately, like many ranged champions, he is very squishy. The chances are, many bruisers or tanks or anybody really, will try to focus you down. This means you have to hit them without getting hit. Easier said then done, eh? Here is a tip on "orbwalking" (Walking backwards and attacking) by Awesomefusion. Eventually, you'll get it as practice makes perfect, but for now you can just run away and use Mystic Shot. Being ranged and the focus of damage, you can simply Arcane Shift to safety. This means that your teammates can start damaging the enemy while they start to damage for you. Later on, you should be able to easily kite them with your Iceborn Gauntlet. Just staying behind your teammates is where Ezreal should be in most fights unless you are confident that you can take them on.
Ezreal is a ranged DPS Attack Damage champion. He is very fun with his high mobility ( Arcane Shift) and global ultimate. Not to mention when you are getting chased and you juke the enemy with Arcane Shift and you scream at your computer screen, it's very very fun. At least to me, anyways. He is very squishy, but in this guide, I try to overcome that. Although he won't be as tanky as many others, he'll be more better suited than others, as well. If you enjoy a sexy, ranged, high damage, kiting, fun champion, then this is the one for you!
If not, you should still play Ezreal because he is fun no matter what one says.

The Answers |
Q: What boot enchantments would you buy and why? | Boot enchant-what? I like the color red. |
Q: How can I be super hot like you? | Well, it's a combination of math and peanut butter. But no jelly. Jelly messes up the equation formula. |
Q: Why is BuddhaRice so bad? | It's very easy, it's because of. |
Q: What is your thought of Ability Power Ezreal? | I personally think it's very fun, but I feel that it's much better if you go this kind of build. But League Of Legends allows you build however you like. This is just a recommendation of what I believe is best. |
Tasty Confection (8:12): Netorare, revive's cooldown is 8:30, not 5 minutes
