[S. 13] My Rakan Guide

By qaffqa
Rakan, The Charmer.
Hello there, this is my first guide. To begin with, I am M7 215k mastery points Rakan main.

The guide is self-explanatory in all the notes allover it, if I had to make any further explanations I'd rwite them here.
But anyways, I'll give my view surrounding Rakan, his build and playstyles as well as him in other roles etc.

————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
First of all, what is Rakan? We need to define which role Rakan plays, not just as a character played in the botlane which he is not only, even though he has not a great pickrate in other lanes, but his essence as a champion dispite where he is being played in.
So, lets speak of what Rakan is capable of:
    · Peeling. Though it is not his main propouse, he is fairly good at it, but not the best.
    · Enagaging. This is his central point as a champing, making picks on people and using his crowd control abilities on the enemy team.
    · Damaging. As a support this might not be the best quality, but played alone, he is capable of providing a good and fair amount of damage even oneshoting the squishy ones.

These are, then, the main qualities of Rakan, and, lets be honest: He is not not the best in either of them. There's supports that peel 100 times better than him, which enage's are more powerfull and are able to tank tons of damage, and ap burst or burn supports than can 1v9 the games. So, why would anyone play Rakan if he is good-at-everything and masters of none?
Your answare is right there: What does Rakan have to do after engaging in the enemy team? E'ing out, that's right. His huge mobility, which is on 3 out of 4 of his abilties makes him one of the most mobile champions in the game at the moment, which also makes him hella fun to play with for sure.
So, how could we call Rakan's category in-game? For me, I like the term "playmaking" which is why he is so hard to play flawlessly, to master Rakan is quite difficult.
Playmaking. How & with who?
So, at this point, how does one make plays with Rakan. What does it mean to be a playmaker? First of all we have to understand that Rakan, should, at least, never be the primary engage on the team composition. He is a follow up:
    · When the Sett jumps in the enemy team with an E, or utls their tank in: we cast E to follow Sett and do our CC combo damage.
    · When the Samira goes in for her combo we follow her with our E > W for maximun cc potential and guarantee the ult combo for her.
    · When the Katarina jumps in the enemy team, we follo them.

And so on, and so on. If you companions are always waiting for you to be the priamary enagage, let me tell you that, 1. you team comp is quite bad, 2. there's a fair team diff going on.
Rakan needs, just as a Pyke always comes last to the party to clean up, to engage later for them to not go away. Not as late as a Pyke, but you get the drill.
Rakan is also reliant on his teammates, so relaint he only can use 3 abilities when alone (which doesn't makes him useless at all, not like old Rell, which they had to rework her for her E to not be teammate dependant — I don't think Rakan needs a similar change tbh). This doesn't mean you cannot make plays alone, or be the first engage move. If a solo laner, ahead and itemized, you should be able to take down at least the most squishy one and get out. You CDs should be low enough to get through the jungle like a Kayn or a Talon.
As a support you want to engage always with your team, after the laning phase is over, you pretty much are always roaming, never sidelaning, your teammates have to take care of the creep waves, not you.
As a solo laner, this roaming playstyle, the playmaking, is since minute 1. Your jungle should be your companion, this played on duo-queue is better for sure.
