Champion Build Guide
[*] Next up will be: the game phases and your objectives.
[*] Then later on I'll put on some videos.
[*] Finally I will add some more tricks and tips.
It's pre-season 9 and bottom lane meta is crazier than ever before.
I'm returning LoL veteran (Season 4 Master tier as Zyra main), who didn't really play much in the previous seasons, but now I'm testing things out again.
Right now, I feel like Zyra is a top-tier support in terms of win rate and is rising in popularity.
Her pros:
[*] Zone control.
[*] Carry level damage as support, makes good use of Liandry's Torment.
[*] AoE CC Grasping Roots, Stranglethorns.
Cons:
[*] No mobility.
[*] No utility other than a root and knock-up.
[*] Cast times or delays on spells.
Early laning phase is an opportunity to get ahead.
You will start the game with Spellthief's Edge and Deadly Spines on level 1.
Level 1: Your basic harass combo is: Deadly Spines + auto attack. Then just back off. No need to extend the trade or risk getting engage on, we don't really want that yet.
Level 2: Your harass gets a lot more potent. Now you will: Deadly Spines + Rampant Growth + auto attack.
Note: you can still do the Q harass even without plants, but only if enemy has no answer to that. If you know it's going to be a trade, then it's better to wait until you can get plants to go with it.
Level 3: We put the first point in Grasping Roots. Casting it is a bit more risky than Deadly Spines, but also has more potential for actually killing the enemy. Again you will first cast the E, then during the travel you place the seeds down.
Mission 1: Poke, Kill, Repeat.
[*] Be aware of what the dangerous spells from the enemy bot lane are. Be it Thresh Death Sentence, Brand Pillar of Flame or Leona Zenith Blade. When that spell is on cool down, then it might be a good time to play aggressive.
[*] Also you need to read the map, is there a chance you get ganked? But honestly, it's not always possible to avoid ganks and you shouldn't always respect the enemy jungler THAT much.
[*] Lane control. Try to have vision Stealth Ward in the brush or at least keep poking enemy out of there with your plants Thorn Spitter. Also if enemy has a huge minion wave, it's better to just retreat to your turret and let the wave reset instead of fighting inside the minion wave.
