Currently he is just useless in solo q.
Alistar
Tanky, doesn't help adc much but can be a pain to deal with.
Zyra
Wait till lvl 6 and roam mid or go with jungler for other objectives there is no point dying over and over again to poke for barely any exp or gold.
Lux
Don't get poked, wait till 6.
Thresh
Don't get hooked or allow adc to get hooked. Focus the adc Thresh wont be able to deal with you and your adc alone.
Bard
He roams around doesn't have much lane pressure but can be annoying just keep and eye on when and where he goes.
Senna
Worthy of a ban since she can poke, heal and cc. You will have a bad lane.
Lulu
She can heal all the trades you do. However squishy once you have ult. Careful of her ult to protect her or her adc.
Soraka
She can heal all the trades you do. However squishy once you have ult.
Sona
She can heal all the trades you do. However squishy once you have ult.
Karma
Annoying to lane against play safe wait until lvl 6.
Pyke
Try to protect you adc from hooks, stay behind minions, when he goes missing (His W) pressure his adc to make him back off from the play he was about to make.
Rakan
He is currently weak compared to other supports but has great cc.
Zilean
Has a massive damage output and combined with the correct adc he can destroy you in lane. Just keep aware of attacks.
Sett
You can kite him with your q but be careful of his e to gap close.
Taric
His ult can negate yours so make him ult before you do.
Nami
She can heal the damage you have done, good cc and disengage.
Leona
She has no damage alone but great cc and tanky.
Nautilus
Don't allow your adc to be hook sometimes sacrifices yourself for your adc.
Blitzcrank
Don't allow your adc to be hook sometimes sacrifices yourself for your adc.
Yuumi
The wave will constantly be under their tower allowing you to roam when needed to, this allows for good objectives like rift herald and dragons.
Vel'Koz
You will get poked down before fights even start.
Galio
Tanky, cc with his taunt can be anywhere with his semi global ult. Try to pressure adc when he is gone.
Tahm Kench
He can eat hit adc to tank your ult.
Gragas
Not even a good support only with Yasuo which can be dealt easily with cc and poke.
Morgana
I always ban her, no matter who I play in the support role. Don't find her a fun champion to lane against.
Maokai
Depending on their skill they can solo win lane with their cc but you can go in on their adc while he is on yours. Tough trades with his passive but later on you should come out on top with your cc ult.
Ezreal
He maybe really strong in 10.14 but he needs to scale and poke rather than going all in so he is not a good partner for Malphite.
Ashe
Her passive allows you to gap close faster to get in and cc them for her to finish them off.
Aphelios
Not in a great place at the moment, does decent damage but doesn't have a good all in compared to other adc's.
Draven
Great lane pressure and if he has stacks on his passive he can 2v5 with your cc and tankyness.
Caitlyn
She does a lot of damage so she is a good partner for malphite.
Kalista
All in is good. With the ult synergy.
Kai'Sa
allows you to be in front of her when you go in she can follow with her ult.
Jinx
She is really strong with her attack speed and damage along with the AOE auto attacks this makes for good combos.
Jhin
Have 4 shots then needs to reload so the all in is not great but if he gets ahead late game can have massive effects with the all in team fights.
Lucian
Damage output is lacking doesn't really help much.
Miss Fortune
Ult together works well if done correctly. Best in the jungle with a funnel team.
Tristana
All in combo works really well with her W when you have ulted.
Varus
He likes to poke rather than all in, you are his protection with your cc.
Vayne
Works well the cc allows Vayne to hit all 3 of her passives which deals a lot of damage.
Yasuo
If he is mid lane it works better since you still have a adc to work with, but if he is your adc then your lane depends on their skill as yasuo.

Malphite is good for cc and being the front line during fights, during laning phase he needs to wait for level 6 to have a massive impact on the lane. As long as the lane is even before 6 the game should be yours to lose. If mid, jungler or top needs help aka they are behind then roam apply pressure around the map to allow them to get even again. You dying over them is always a good trade (as long as they understand that).
