ABOUT MYSELF
About Me
I'm Fire, I've been maining Taliyah since S9 although I stopped playing her mid-season since I instead decided to main Akali and playing mid instead. When the items got reworked I stopped enjoying her and kept jumping mains and decided to go back to Taliyah but mid. Riot August announced her mid scope and it got me excited to see the new Taliyah. The mid scope changed her identity, I honestly liked her more Jungle than Mid so I decided to play Taliyah jungle.
I also stream on twitch at https://www.twitch.tv/f1rexyz . This season I do plan to play ranked, I've been involved in competitive LOL at the collegiate level but as a coach only.
INTRODUCTION
Taliyah is a mage from shurima that is played mainly in JGL and MID but can also play TOP, ADC, and SUPPORT. Taliyah got a mid-scope update in patch 12.9 and her identity completely shifted. She used to have mana troubles, poor waveclear, unhealthy clear, unplayable assassin matchups, and many MANY bugs. After this mid-scope update, a lot changed most of her bugs were fixed but instead of being a burst mage mostly played in the jungle, she is now a battlemage/ control mage that can be flexed into basically all 5 roles.
Why do I play her jungle? Taliyah is used as a wave clear bot and farm champ now, I used to play her mid before the update because she had tons of agency starting level 1. Now she is very poor early game and Threaded Volley boulder Q stuns camps forever, this makes her clear pretty safe and healthy. I also enjoy her potential to gank since even though your Seismic Shove into Unraveled Earth isn't a free one shot but it now stuns and can set up kills for your laners.

PASSIVE ABILITY
Rock Surfing

When out of combat, Taliyah builds up 10-55% bonus movement speed (depending on level) over 2.5 seconds whenever traveling near walls. Entering combat disables Rock Surfing for the next 2 seconds.

Q
Threaded Volley

Taliyah hurls 5 rocks, each dealing 45 / 65 / 85 / 105 / 125 (+50% of ability power) magic damage in an area around the first enemy hit and works the ground at that area. Subsequent hits against the same enemy deals 40% less damage.

Casts on worked ground cost 20 mana and have 50% less cooldown, consume the worked ground, and hurl a boulder that slows enemies hit by 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40% for 1.5 seconds and deals 85.5 / 123.5 / 161.5 / 199.5 / 237.5 (+95% of ability power) magic damage to the primary target.

W
Seismic Shove

Taliyah quakes the earth, knocking enemies in an area in the chosen direction after 0.75 seconds.

E
Unraveled Earth

Taliyah scatters loose stones in an area, dealing 60 / 105 / 150 / 195 / 240 (+60% of ability power) magic damage and slowing enemies hit by 20 / 22 / 24 / 26 / 28%. After 4 seconds the stones shatter, dealing the damage again. This ability deals 150% damage against monsters.

Enemies that dash or are knocked through the stones detonate them, taking 25 / 45 / 65 / 85 / 105 (+30% of ability power) magic damage for each stone they pass through (max 4). Stones beyond the first deal reduced damage.

R
Weaver's Wall

Taliyah creates a massive earthen wall for 4 seconds. If she immediately recasts she will ride along it as it unravels. Moving or being immobilized will end the ride.

This ability cannot be cast if Taliyah has taken damage from champions or structures within the last 3 seconds.
PROS AND CONS

Pros

Healthy clear
Good burst
Good DPS
W-E is feels so nice to hit
Ult can get you places quicker than other champs
Anti-dash E
Good scaling
MS on passive
Surprisingly good at doing objectives

Cons

Can get ran down pretty easily
Weak early game
W is easier now but still very hard to land/use
R feels a little clunky
passive is almost useless early
Champs with teleports like Shunpo counter your E very hard
SKIN TIER LIST ( IN ORDER)
PATHING
Always throw a Threaded Volley at nothing before buff spawns so you have a free boulder to stun the buff.

STANDARD BLUE SIDE FULL CLEAR

STANDARD RED SIDE FULL CLEAR

FAST LEVEL 3 (BLUE BUFF SIDE)

Taliyah has a strong level 3 this pathing is to gank TOP from BLUE SIDE or if you are RED SIDE this will work to gank BOT.

Those are just standard full clears, jungle pathings are situationally and what makes you a good jungler is how you arrive at these clears. You can always stop the clear to gank.
GANKING
Taliyah has very strong ganks if executed well. Pre-6 or before you get Weaver's Wall you have to clear vision becuase you dont have a unique ganking tool like Shadow Step, Elastic Slingshot, or Deceive. You have to time ganks well, you can easily mess up a gank by missing Seismic Shove. While missing Seismic Shove sucks you still can pull the gank off with Unraveled Earth or you can kill or put them into lethal with Threaded Volley. When you hit 6 and unlock Weaver's Wall you have a tool to pull off ganks you couldn't have before. Even though level 1 wall is short you have a dash off of it now. You can't really R to block pathways level 1 so mostly try to use Weaver's Wall to get to a lane and hit Seismic Shove into Unraveled Earth and do DPS with Threaded Volley. If you have the oppurtunity to Weaver's Wall behind someone and block the only way to avoid the gank they rather use Flash or concede and die.
RUNE DISCUSSIONS

LUDEN'S TEMPEST
VS

EVERFROST
Luden's Tempest is what I build most games since im more fimilar with the way Seismic Shove works. Luden's will give you much more damage for your combo and DPS. Liandry's Torment is also good if the other team has a lot of tanks and as of Preseason 13 the new tank items like Jak'Sho, The Protean or Heartsteel are pretty strong. Everfrost can make your life much easier. You can Everfrost into a free Seismic Shove into Unraveled Earth. You will lose out on damage for utility and an almost guaranteed combo.
