Hello, I'am Samira main, was looking to find my love at the top lane, starting with Renekton, Riven, Aatrox but I couldn't feel useful to my team in the late game and was often losing my lane. So I decided to play Kayle, but was way too easy, just playing safe and scaling to kill them all in late, really not my playstyle... And then someone talked to me about Gwen, and I felt in love for her, She had some similarities to Samira, spell cancel, dash and sustain R with AOE damages for team fights.

So I wanted to write my own guide from my experience in low elo and here is it!

Strengths :
- Really good scaling
- Low CD, you may have the possibility to dash multiple times in an fight thanks to your cool down reduction and to spam Q. R have also a really small CD, you'll probably have it of every fights.
- Good carry potential, if you fed yourself in early you can almost 1vs9 or really do the difference in team fights thanks to your true damages, sustain, high mobility, big AOE damages and spell cancel.

Weaknesses:
- Bad early, really dependent of her ultimate and core items (rift maker and nashor's tooth)
- Hard if behind, from my experience it's almost impossible to win 1vs1 after giving too many resources to your opponent
- Squishy, I found here more squishy than the average top laners, that why you are really dependent of your sustain from passive and Riftmaker

For me Cosmic Drive is one of the best item to buy for Gwen after buying Riftmaker and Nashor's Tooth if you are ahead, this item give you a tons of good stats. Firstly 65 AP, the same as Zhonya's Hourglass, and can increase up to 105 during fight, really a lot. Secondly 200HP, not a lot but it can help you to tank an ignite for example. Thirdly 30 hability haste, it's a lot, it will help you to use all of your skills more often. And then finaly 5% of move speed, really cool to chase, but it's even better because during fight it can increases to 15% more so you can follow them even more easier.

For me Mercury's treads are often the best, even when there is more AD than AP, because the tenacity part is really valuable when there is some cc against you because with Gwen you want to chase to use your AA and charge your Q and something that can give tenacity to reduce slowdowns can really make the difference.

Only when there is a lot of AD damages like 80% or someone AD is fed in the enemy team. I may also take them when I have difficult matchup and I'am losing.

For me, these ones are the best if you are ahead and there is no one who can bother you. You can spam Q and E more often in team fight and that's can do really the difference.
