Tristana
Tristana has high burst damage and can cheese you level 2 and almost always kill you. Make sure that you are prepared for the engage and co-ordinate with your support to outburst Tristana with your Second Skin (Passive), Q and W. You are usually the one who is waiting for the engage, which is why this lane is so difficult to dictate. To play around this lane, make sure you highly capitalise on her bomb cooldown as without it, you out damage her.
Nautilus
Nautilus has lots of cc and can stack your passive three times at level 6. He also can zone the enemy AD Carry with his point and click Depth Charge (R) and his large Dredge Line (Q). Nautilus is also relatively easy to play.

Champion Build Guide
This guide will cover the following Chapters:
1 - Why Kai'Sa
2 - Mechanics
3 - Early Game
4 - Mid Game
5 - Late Game
Kai'Sa also has great synergy in lane with a lot of solo queue supports such as Nautilus and Lulu. Kai'Sa can also often be blind picked which gives your team freedom in champ select.

Kai'Sa Mechanics
Auto cancelling
You can auto cancel every one of Kai'Sa's abilities. It allows you to fit in an extra auto attack with increases your DPS. Note that in the early game it may seem laborious to get 50 extra damage, but in the late game that is potentially an extra 900 damage.
Isolated Q
The Icathian Rain automatically splits the missiles evenly between enemies in it's range. The first missile does more damage that the following so therefore to maximise total damage, using Icathian Rain on multiple targets is optimal. However, the highest single target damage requires you to position such that only one enemy is in the range of Icathian Rain. Often times, an isolated Icathian Rain will have oneshot potential on squishy targets.
W Flash
The Void Seeker Flash can be used to surprise enemies with an unexpected Second Skin proc and kill them. It is used in a way where you reposition yourself last second so that Void Seeker casts from a different location away from interferences which can stun your enemies.
Reverse W Flash
This is the same concept as the Void Seeker Flash above, except you do it to trick your enemies into which direction your Void Seeker will go. It is extremely situational albeit still having applications in a real game. The way to execute it is by placing your cursor behind your character and Flash over your cursor.
Phantom W Flash
This mechanic is the exact same as the normal Void Seeker Flash however if you are able to Flash on the exact timing required, you can make your Void Seeker projectile animation go through enemies and hit a different target. Below I have demonstrated the normal Void Seeker Flash and the Phantom Void Seeker Flash. This is not a bug.
W continues Passive stacks
This is not much of a mechanic, but more an important fact to note.
RW
This mechanic involves casting Void Seeker mid Killer Instinct to ensure that your Void Seeker comes out faster for higher DPS and faster combos. You can do this off of allied CC. Press R then W. The further you are from the target, the faster the Void Seeker comes out.
RE
This mechanic is highly similar to the previous one but involves using Supercharge instead. Applications of this is whenever you want to Killer Instinct to the back line and do not want to Supercharge in the back line and instead have instant attack speed steroid. Once you achieve evolved Supercharge you can effectively have a 1500/2000/3000 range invisible dash. Further applications include instantly disappearing when being engaged on and then reappearing on the back line ready to oneshot their back line carries. One of the best repositioning tools that Kai'Sa has that stuns your enemies. Perform by pressing R then E instantly after.
R over walls
Kai'Sa's Killer Instinct can be used to go over basically all the walls on Summoners Rift. This has applications in repositioning so that you are more difficult to access and engage on.
QE
This mechanic abuses the fact that you can not auto attack or cast Void Seeker during the charge time of your Supercharge. Press Q then E. Be cautious though that the enemies will be able to identify your position if you are invisible with evolved Supercharge.
QW versus WQ
Many Kai'Sa players will not know the difference in casting Icathian Rain first or Void Seeker first. The most optimal combo in terms of DPS is to cast Icathian Rain first then Void Seeker. This has a disadvantage in that you can not move until you have finished casting Void Seeker. The advantage of casting Void Seeker first is that you can move during the firing of Icathian Rain.
R Flash
This mechanic is used if you want the shield from Killer Instinct but do not want to enter the Killer Instinct zone near enemies. It can be used to counter dives and assassins or to escape ganks. The Flash can be towards the side to also dodge a skill shot. Perform it by pressing R then Flash in the desired direction before you dash to the target.
In lane here are some general tips:
- Identify the enemy abilites that can cause your death. e.g Death Sentence, Dredge Line, Light Binding.
- Bully the enemy when they do not have kill threat. Do this by either zoning off the wave or autoing them when they walk up for cs.
- Try to auto attack the enemy when they walk up to farm. Unless they cancel their auto attack (very hard to react to do), they can not trade auto back.
- If your support walks up, walk up with them to prevent a 1v2 angle for your support.
- Respect the ganking style of different junglers. e.g Elastic Slingshot, Shadow Step, Powerball. So ward accordingly.
Kai'Sa Specific tips:
- Remember to trade with auto Icathian Rain (i.e use auto cancels) to maximise damage.
- It is a common mistake to spam your abilities when your support engages or your jungler ganks. Make sure to maximise the value of your abilities by trying to land the most isolated Icathian Rain possible and hitting Void Seeker at most Second Skin stacks. If you can not find these opportunities, then all in with auto attacks until you can find the best value for your abilities.
- A cheeky situational trick is, if you are leashing bot and coming to lane ready to Q the first three creeps, you can try to auto Q the enemy ADC which means that you can auto them while clearing the first three minions.
