Hello, my name is bluespes and this is my guide about the amazing Volibear. He is a pretty good support and jungler, but I play him as a solo top laner. Voli is one of the champions that can deal tons of damage with almost full tank itens, while bringing a lot of ultility to the team. A real CC machine.

Cons -Needs farm to become scary -Reliant on auto-attacking - Frenzy is on a high-cooldown -Have trouble playing against ranged opponents -Lacks real sustain in lane

I recommend using 9/21 masteries, focusing on survivability.

Defensive tree

Hardiness : Most solo top champions are AD. This is help you a lot through your laning phrase.
Resistance : You are the tank and you need magic resist.
Durability : Voli just LOVES health. Extra HP is always nice.
Veteran's Scars : This little bit of health will help you a lot early game.
Tough Skin : It may not seem much, but it will help you to tank minions waves early-game and win trades with your opponent.
Indomitable : Same as Tough Skin . It helps a lot.
Enlightment: You have high cooldowns and this surely helps.
Juggernaut : Tenacity and HP increase, this masterie is perfect for Volibear.
