Hi, my name is FAVDASH and I started actively playing League of Legends in S5.
My mains at the moment are Zilean, Rakan, Thresh and Renata Glasc.

As a Zilean lover, I would like to share my knowledge on the champion with you.

Zilean prefers going "Flash" + "Exhaust".You generally don't get in range to ignite and will make more use out of an exhaust to protect your ADC.

The alternative is to take "Flash" + "Heal" if your ADC takes exhaust

"Spellthief's Edge" is generally the go-to support item for Zilean as you are a poke champion in lane.
If you know in advance that your lane is going to be hard, "Relic Shield" is a good substitute option.

"Lucidity Boots" are also the go-to boots for Zilean as you make great use of Ability Haste.

"Shurelya's Battlesong" is very useful for mobility and "Seraph's Embrace" covers your mana pool for the game.

Your last item will depend on the state of the game. Your best options are "Mikael's Creuset", "Chemtech Putrifier" and "Anathema's Chains".

REMINDER : Don't forget to buy control wards !

A lot of Zilean players prefer upgrading Zilean's W before his E ... but I don't.
For me Zilean's power lies in his E because he can decrease or increase an ennemy's or an ally's speed of 99% (at lv.5) and you want to reach this power spike as quickly as possible.

Another popular option is to upgrade Zilean's E first. I personally don't like soing this because I feel like Zilean completely looses all of his already little lane power. Let's be real, apart from poke Zilean doesn't do much in lane ... If you remove the poke then you are really asking to get smashed in lane and have no pressure or prio at all.

If you can't double bomb very well, cast your E before you double bomb or cast your E after hitting the first bomb, it will make landing the combo easier but slower.

Why do I go Sorcery and Precision :

Sorcery

- I think that Sorcery is a must have for all mage supports.

- "Summon Aery" is the best key stone for Zilean as it allows him to shield allies when placing his "e" on them. This then procks his item passives.
- I go "Manaflow Band" and "Transcendence" because you need mana and ability haste as your are manavore and have long cooldowns.
- I tend to go "Scorch" in order to have better poke in lane but "Gathering Storm" is also a viable option.

Precision (Secondary Tree)

- "Presence of mind" is extremely good on Zilean as he is a champion which uses a lot of mana.
- "Coup de Grace" is more a default pick as the other runes offered don't add much to Zilean's abilities although "Legend : Tenacity" can also be a viable option.

Other Possibilities

- "Ultimate Hunter" is very strong on Zilean.
- "Zombie Ward" is probably your best option for your second rune.

PROS

- High mobility
- Good slow (99% at lv 5)
- VERY good ult that corrects your teammates' mistakes
- Short ult cooldown

CONS

- Manavore
- Uses bombs
- Can only ult one person at a time

Zilean is one of the best supports (or the best) of League of Legends and, after Teemo, the biggest cancer.
