Where is Yi during Alpha Strike?

When Master Yi Qs, where is he positionally? For example, if he Qs on an enemy and the enemy flashes out of ignite range from Yi's starting position, will Yi be able to land an ignite on that enemy during the rest of his Q?

Master Yi actually teleports to the Zen gardens on the island of WUJU where he used to practice the art of wuju style. Hope this helped :P

Keep in mind that Yi will always appear next to the unit you initially targeted with , regardless of its original position changing, meaning, if someone flashes/dashes away during your , will simply fallow them, allowing you to your opponent after is done.

found that out the hard way when i tried to go and smite steal a dargon but was mid alpha and too far away to smite.

You can also see that he only moves next to that unit after alpha strike ends, since if the unit dies he just "goes back" to his position when he casted it (i.e. technically his actual position during the whole duration of the spell).
