Morgana
She canBlack Shield your stun and then Q you, messing up your whole combo. Bait out her sheild with your E, then go in when you know it's down.

Champion Build Guide
Hail of Blades is the best keystone for a lethality setup. It synergises well with Viego's Q ability and works both in lane and roaming/team fighting.
Taste of Blood is the most consistent option in this row.
Sudden Impact is better for a push-and-roam playstyle and synergises well with Viego's E ability and helps you avoid taking damage and rotate to teamfights faster. Ideally you use Viego's W ability while invisible in his E ability to land a guaranteed stun.
Eyeball Collection is the standard choice in this row.
Ultimate Hunter is the best keystone for a lethality setup. It synergises well with Viego's R ability and is great for roaming/team fighting. Ravenous Hunter has been nerfed so many times that it is not worth taking it and you can substitute lifesteal in your items. |
SECONDARY RUNES
Triumph is the most consistent option. The extra HP it gives when you get a takedown adds to the HP you get when possessing a soul.
Alacrity is the only attackspeed in this build (other than boots) so you need to take it. If you go for Resolve tree secondaries, you're forced to buy attack speed items.
Second Wind is best against heavy poke lanes ( Syndra, Xerath, Lux, Vex, and Akshan which you should definitely ban).
Bone Plating is best against burst mages or assassins ( Syndra, Diana, Akali, Katarina) However, Precision tree is more valuable in melee matchups.
Overgrowth is a good choice because you are not building any or many HP items. |
The other mythic item options are Galeforce and Shieldbow. These mythics make most sense with a crit or attack speed build. You can do a burst build with Galeforce, which gives more mobility to catch up to your target. Shieldbow is better for longer drawn-out teamfights or if the enemy has a lot of poke mages ( Syndra, Xerath, Diana, etc.)
Antiheal is needed almost every game, but which item you choose depends on if you're going crit-thality or full lethality. Chempunk is your safest option since it gives haste and HP. Moral Reminder also works if you're going for an attackspeed build.
Even though BORK is Viego's signature weapon, you should only buy it if you didn't take Legend: Alacrity in your runes when doing this build.
Sterak's is good if the enemy team has burst, teamfights are long and drawn out, their team is tanky or if you are ahead and want to have some fun.
Only get Spirit Visage if the enemy team has a lot of magic damage OR if you have a lifesteal item ( Hydra) OR if you have a healer ( Yuumi, Soraka, etc.) on your team and want some tankiness.
Death's Dance is good if the enemy team is full AD AND you don't want to buy a lifesteal item.
GA is only worth if you are fed, are hard carrying or if the enemy has a lot of burst. There's no point in buying it if you are dying constantly-- it's going to pop the minute you get out there and you'll die after you revive anyway XD
