I came for the title, seeing as I am approximately iron with Gwen and a 0% winrate, so this guide still comes from someone more skilled than I am :) I was just wondering what you thought of Shadowflame on Gwen, especially vs. champs like Mordekaiser? I've been building it a lot, is it any good or am I just griefing?

not a gwen main here but i feel like the other hp/ap items get more value. Cosmic is great. Zhonyas is good. Morellos is cheap with lots of good stats. Demonics is decent. If u want dmg, dcap is good too. And this is all after the rift, nash start. Mpen isn't that great on gwen since she does a lot of true dmg on her q (well its only 50% now since it keeps on getting nerfed). Mpen is also generally just used more on bursty champs. I don't think its bad, but I think there is just higher priority items.

Wow, thanks so much! That was way more insightful than I could have hoped for. Actually, yeah... that makes a lot of sense. I didn't even think about the true damage in her kit, just about "heehoo shields, shadowflame goes brrr" no wonder I lose every game. Thank you :)

also personally i dont think shadowflame is really good vs shields in general. You only get a maximum of 10 more mpen. You can also get higher than 10 just naturally through their hp or smth.

Yeah, I've heard that take before, but I'm bronze monkey so my brain just goes heehoo shadowflame = serpents fang but ap, heehoo time to build. Thanks for reminding me to stop relying on baboonery for my builds :)
