The first thing you should be doing is looking at who your opponent is. Your playstyle will differ depending on the matchup. THere are a few matchups where you can trade well early at level 1 then look for an all-in at level 2 with ignitw/tp. An example would be viego. In these matchups you want to look to fight alot and if you have a strong invading jungler, push your wave and go look to invade with them.

If you are playing against a champion you cannot fight early then you should take E and farm minions. You are really good at setting up ganks for junglers so you should try to pull the wave Towards you.

If you are playing against ranged toplaners, max E and take aery runes. In this situation you just need to constantly poke them with E and eventually you can threaten an all in.

Look for roams and TP plays on jarvan. your champion is really good at catching people out and generally it is bad to constantly stay in lane because you have so much benefit to being with your team. Playing with your jungler is important because of the CC and setup you have. Many Midlanders are immobile and it is really easy to gank them.
