Champion Build Guide

Shyvana, The Tanky Dragon Attack Speed Hybrid

By PokeBen6551
Introduction
Hello, my Name is PokeBen6551 and this is my first guide i`ve made. I`m currently Bronze II, Summoner Level 68 and Level 5 with Shyvana. I hope this guide helps you to get better with Shyvana and a bit better with league in General. I tried to make this Guide as beginner-friendly as possible. Please excuse me if my english isn't too good, I'm german and still learning how to speak and write english.
Why Shyvana?
Shyvana is, in my opinion, one of the Strongest junglers in game. Her Powerspike is About when she gets her second Item, in the case of my guide that would usually be Frozen Mallet. In lategame, she can deal massive Damage while also tanking the enemy Team, making a really good tank. I`ve tested all the runes and builds shown in this guide at one Point or another, and it usually worked out really well.In the earlygame she isnt as strong as Lee Sin for example, but can still manage a good clear of the jungle.
Runes In-Depht
I already showed the runes, and now i`ll talk more About why I Chose each rune.
Press the Attack:
Very good for 1v1 and teamfights since the Damage increase + Shyvana`s E make for a lot of Damage in total
Lethal Tempo:
Not as useful as Press the Attack but still reliable for earlygame ganks since using her e will proc Lethal Tempo.

Conqueror:
Very good because of it`s true Damage and lifesteal, but only reliable in combination with other lifesteal items like Death`s Dance.

Triumph:
Gives you Gold and HP Bonus for killing enemies, so no reason you shouldn`t take it.

Legend: Alacricity:
More attack Speed for the win :D. Can be replaced with Legend: Bloodline for more offensive builds.

Coup de Grace:
Extremely useful in 1v1s and Overall a good rune for tanks since they will be dealing a lot of Damage to low Health enemies

Bone Plating:
One of my favourite runes since it will block a good amount of Damage that could possibly have killed you.

Overgrowth:
Gives you a good amount of Health if you farm a lot, which is what a Jungler should be doing anyways.

Please Note that some Runes can always be replaced with ones you like more or that you think are better in the matchup you have to face.
Abilities In-Depht
Passive: Fury of the Dragonborn
Skyrim references aside, this is one Thing that makes her really unique. She passively gains 20% increased attack Damage against Dragons. Additionally, for every non-elder Dragon her Team kills she gains 5 armor and 5 magic resistance.

Q: Twin Bite
As the Name suggests, Shyvana hits twice on her next Basic attack, dealing Bonus Damage scaling with Attack Damage. During her R, she will gain an effect similar to Tiamat and its Upgrades on hit. The Cooldown on her Q is reduced if she autoattacks a Champion, a minion or a Monster.

W: Burnout
Upon activation it generates a field of fire around Shyvana, dealing Damage around her scaling with Ability Power and granting her movement Speed based on the Level of the ability. During her R, the field of fire grows in size, dealing Damage in a larger area around Shyvana.

E: Flame Breath
Shyvana shoots a fireball in a straight line dealing Damage scaling with Ability Power and marking enemies for a short period of time. The shot pierces all enemy Units or Monsters in ist path. Enemies that are marked take a percentage of their max HP as magic Damage if Shyvana attacks a marked enemy. During her R,
Flame Breath will explode after a Chosen distance, dealing Damage in an area and leaving the Ground charred, dealing magic Damage to whoever walks over it. This ability is her only non-ultimate skillshot.

R: Dragon's Descent
This ability has a Passive and an active effect
Passive: Shyvana gains fury per second increasing with ability Level. Her fury is shown by an orange bar under her Health bar that turns red once ist full. When it is full, Shyvana can use her ult.
Active: Shyvana Leaps into a direction, dealing Damage scaling with Attack Damage and dragging enemies with her. After the leap, Shyvana transforms into a Dragon, gaining Access to her empowered abilities.Additionally, she also gains max HP while in Dragon Form.
Levelling order
The order I Level in Always the same. I start with E and max it first because in my opinion it`s Shyvana`s most valuable ability because it help her clear the jungle rather quickly. After that i Level and max W because it help her go across the map easily. After that her Q since it`s not as useful as her other abilities. And of Course you gotta Level her ult whenever you can.
New clear Route
Since the new jungle update with the crab spawns delayed, the old jungling path I had was kinda destroyed. So now I have a new one. What you will want to do is start Bluebuff. Now some might ask "Why Bluebuff Shyvana doesnt even have mana?" And i can only answer: "Yes." But you won't do it for the mana but only for lvl 2. Then you do Wolves, after that you go to the Raptors, and then do your Redbuff. Now that you have redbuff you have 2 Options. Either A: Make good use of your Redbuff and gank the lane closest to your red, usually botlane or toplane depending on which side of the map you are on. If those lanes aren't gankable look at mid and try to gank there. If it's also not gankable choose Option B: Invade the enemy or do your Krugs. It doesnt matter what you do, the crab will have spawned or be close to spawning afterwards. Do the crab now. If the enemy jungler is there and does it, just go away. It could cost your laners that have to help you time or even a kill or two could go to the enemy Team. On the other Hand that could happen to your Team too, but if you're not willing to take chances just run and Alarm your Team as well as go to the other crab and do it. After your crab go ganking or farming if there aren't any oportunities for ganking. Try to back with 1300-1600 Gold for your items.
First Back
On your first back, your target should be to get Stalker`s Blade and as much attack Speed as possible. Belive me, attack Speed makes everything easier.
Ganks
Ganks are actually simple with Shyvana. You initiate wit your E, then attack the Enemy with Basics attacks and Qs and chase with smite and W. Once you hit Level 6, you only initiate with your R and then do the other Things.
Items and Powerspike
Since I am mainly using the build I showed as "Hybrid" I will go In-Depht About that one.

- Enchantment: Bloodrazor
One everlasting debate About Shyvana is whether to take Cinderhulk or Bloodrazor, but in my Opinion it should be Bloodrazor, since it`s really one of her only ways to build tanky with 4000+ HP and still have a considerable amount of Attack Speed. Also it helps Shyvana way more than Cinderhulk
- Berserker's Greaves
My choice of boots since they are the only other Thing in my build that gives Attack Speed other than Legend: Alacricity and Enchantment: Bloodrazor

- Frozen Mallet
Basic attacks slowing the enemy is always nice to have, plus it give 700 HP and 30 Attack Damage. A must-have for AD Tanks in my opinion.

- Titanic Hydra
The tanky tiamat upgrade. It might not give as much Attack Damage as Ravenous Hydra, but it gives a good amount of HP and the ability to hit multiple targets, just like Tiamat and Ravenous Hydra

- Sterak's Gage
Another must-have for AD Tanks since it give Attack Damage, Shields and Health.

- Death's Dance
Life Steal to Keep you alive in the frontlines. Need I say more? (Can be replaced with Guardian Angel, depending on your kills vs enemy team's kills.)

Powerspike:
Usually your Powerspike is after Frozen Mallet. For those who don't know, a Powerspike is when you get one or more items that make you really powerfull, hence the Name Powerspike.
Playstyle
Your Playstyle early should be safe. Try to gank, but not die while doing so. If you go behind early you will fail the game and doing your Job.If that happens, the only way to get back in the game is either A: Get a big Shutdown or B: Powerfarm.
Should you get into the game with a couple of kills, you can Play Pretty aggresive.
During Fights
Your fights are determined by one factor: Did you hit your E or not? If you did you can Pretty much 100% kill the enemy you are facing. If you didn't, you might be able to, but the chances are low. Use your E to choose who you'll kill, your Q to deal Damage, your R to initiate after your E and your W to chase fleeing enemies or run away yourself.
Overall Opinion
Shyvana is a great champ, not only as a Jungler, but also as a toplaner and a Teamfighter. The Hybrid build I'm showcasing is really strong Overall and has a lot of strenghts and relatively Little weaknesses but a lot of counters. She relies heavily on stacking bonuses from her runes and E, because it deals all the Damage she deals. 8% Bonus from Coup de Grace, 8-12% from Press the Attack and Bonus max Health Damage from Flame Breath.
Outro
And that's it for my first ever Guide on how to Play Shyvana. I hope you liked it and it helped you understand Shyvana. Thank you for reading and GLHF.
