Champion Build Guide
In this guide, I am going to show you what i think are the best ways to play Warwick and realize his full potential as a jungler. I have not spent much time on Warwick top, as I am a jungle main.
So sit back, and read the guide. I hope you find it helpful.
The most popular role Warwick plays is Jungle. The crowd control he has combined with the amount of damage Warwick provides makes for a great invader and ganker in the early game. He can also go top as a splitting duelist who can win lane by fighting 2v1.
Warwick plays like a bruiser mixed with an assassin. He is a great answer to squishy comps and lane bullies. He is counterpicked by few champions and is a very reliable source of cc for your team. Warwick shines in an environment where he can get ahead and make the enemies fear being below 50% health. He is one of the few "omnipotent" junglers, being able to effect lanes without being there just from the threat of the mark alone.
The way you play Warwick will differ from me but I hope you can learn from my experience.
Warwick deals 12-46(based on level) + (15% bonus AD) + (10% AP) magic damage on
hit. While Warwick is below 50% health, he heals for 100% of all damage after
resistances are applied. If Warwick is below 20% health, all bonuses are
amplified by 250%.
Warwick's Q: Jaws of the Beast.
Warwick lunges and bites the target dealing (120%AD + 100%AP) + up to 10% of
target's max HP and healing up to 90% of damage dealt.
If you tap this ability Warwick bites and returns to his position. If you hold
this ability he attaches to the target, following them through any dash, blink,
teleport, or displacement. Warwick is immune to being displaced while attached.
Warwick's W: Blood Hunt.
Passive: Warwick marks any unit below 50% Health, giving him up to 110% bonus
attack speed. If the target is below 20% Health all bonuses given by Warwick's
W are amplified by 250%. Bonuses, at max rank, include: 55% Movement Speed and
110% Bonus Attack Speed.
Active: Warwick marks the nearest person to him within a range and leads a
blood trail to them.
Warwick's E: Primal Howl.
First Cast: Warwick channels and gains 35%-55%(based on level) damage
reduction. Warwick can use all abilities during the channel.
Second Cast: Warwick howls and fears everyone within a radius for 1 second.
Warwick's R: Infinite Duress.
Warwick leaps in a target direction, if he hits a champion, Warwick does
175-525 damage, suppresses, reveals, and grounds the target. Warwick also heals
for 100% of damage done during the ult.
This is what most people have taken on Warwick since season 11 came out. The build has its pros, like being able to deal with tanks more efficiently and having a decent amount of scaling. This build is amazing for facing a tanky comp with minimal CC. However, the build suffers in its efficiency and ease of use. Warwick cannot proc divine as much as other champions can, think Gangplank, Ezreal, Camille, Fiora and many more. Second, Warwick is squishier than if he went tank, so he loses out on the hp and armor. Overall, I think, this build is overrated and ineffective against squishy, mobile comps.
Pros:
+ Great against tanks
+ Lots of damage
+ Big q heals
+ Some tankiness
Cons:
- Poor mobility
- Bad against squishies
- Squishier than tank
Tank / Scaling:
An alternative build, and, in my opinion, a better build than divine. Warwick does well with more AoE and tankiness. So naturally taking sunfire and titanic makes him super hard to kill, and gives him the damage to kill most anything. The build scales extremely well and does a lot of damage. However, it does not do well with a snowballing playstyle. I love this build, I think it is reliable and enables Warwick to tank, kill, and disrupt more.
Pros:
+ Great scaling
+ Great for holding a lead
+ Amazing AoE
+ Tanky
Cons:
- Does not snowball hard
- Poor mobility
- Gets shut down by vayne
Kraken Slayer:
The build with the most potential for damage, this does well into any comp you can stick on to. The build is hard to get a grasp on, you are very squishy in the early game but this is supplemented with the AD from noonquiver. I think this build is great, but it is very hard to get used to. Use it if you have your fundamentals down with Warwick and you want to carry the damage.
Pros:
+ Great Damage
+ Great Scaling
+ Objectives take less time
+ High snowball
Cons:
- Hard to adjust to
- Squishy
- Poor Mobility
- Little safety
Zombiewick:
This build is strange to say the least, but there is a method to the madness that is the zombiewick build. The build was thought of by Parnellyx with a high tempo, hard snowballing playstyle in mind. Warwick likes to build AD for his healing, so naturally building one of the ADC mythics would be best for that. Galeforce helps with Warwick's mobility and damage, Guardian Angel helps with dive and safety while adding on more AD, and Zhonya's Hourglass tops it off with another level of dive and safety.
Pros:
+ Great snowball
+ Great damage
+ High mobility
+ Very safe
+ Insane dive
Cons:
- Poor scaling
- Hard to get used to
- Squishy
- Bad against tanks
- Requires a lot of practice
This is my recommended path for most situations. It provides you with ample opprotunity to pressure one side of the map. It gets you to lv 3 the fastest.
Buff > Invade:
This is super risky and situational. If the laners cannot fight you, and you can kill the jungler, and you know they are coming up at that time. This path is amazing. Otherwise it is risky.
5 Camp - Red > Raptors > Wolves > Gromp > Blue (or that reversed):
I see a lot of higher level Warwicks do this for safety. It does not fit my playstyle, but I see the value in it. This is a nice medium between Full clear and lvl 2 invade.
Full Clear (Leashless):
I do not recommend this as a default, but if you have winning lanes and a hard jg matchup, this is a good way to let your bot lane get an early lead.
Full Clear (Leashed):
This is just a 5 camp but slower, It takes too long and doesn't even get your bot ahead. Do not do this unless there is risk of you losing if you don't.
Q predictions:
If you can predict when a player will flash or use a mobility spell, you can follow them and win a fight very easily. This takes a **** ton of practice and is part of being a good Warwick.
R Movement Speed Leveraging:
While one player's health is below 50%, you can path towards them, the extra movement speed will allow you to R the person near to them. Think if a support is low but you want to kill the ADC.
Blood Trail Info:
One of the reasons Warwick can destroy in solo queue is because of his free information gathering with the blood trail. So unlock your camera for once and look for trails.
Q Immunity:
Here is a list of things Warwick cannot be affected by when attached with his Q.
