"I would get Mejai's Soulstealer before you get Sorcerer's Shoes so any kills or assists will give some earlier AP.
You might also want to get an early Tear of the Goddess to build into Archangel's Staff] later. Doing that will also give you some nice mana regeneration as well."

"Philosopher's Stone doesn't really seem effective anymore. I like to get an early Catalyst the Protector. It really helps your lane phase out a lot more but I really do like that gold over time. If you get the Catalyst the Protector instead of Philosopher's Stone you can later replac"

"For champions with DoT skills. You can counter them with quick silver sash. Lets say you have really low HP and Cassiopeia ends up poisoning you (not a good situation). She will most likely spam her Twin Fang on you. Just use the quick silver sash and she can no longer burst you ;)
