Ok, I am utterly confused about this system and it's entirety.
So on my main account when I first started my 10 provisional games I ended up at 9/10 of the games won for my main, along with being Gold the season before they placed me in Silver I, to where I later just climbed up away from Silver.
But now I was duoing with my cousin to help him out in ranked, this account was my smurf and got only to Silver last season (it was very close to Gold though), I ended up winning 7/10 of my games but the thing is they placed me in Gold IV. I don't know if they went more lenient with the provisionals but this system just confuses me..
Anyone know the reason why?
The difference I only saw was that I duo'd (He's Silver 1), I was constantly placed with Golds/High Silvers on my smurf.
Maybe it's because I didn't duo when I was on my main?....

It might be the duo-ing factor, that that usually skews the MMR slightly up, so you're just proving yourself to be slightly better overall, which is why you were dropped in low gold instead of silver.

Thank you to jhoijhoi for the sig, and all the dividers in the guide.
Yeah, it was definitely the fact that you were duo'ing with a Silver 1. You gained more MMR because the enemy teams had higher MMR than if you'd just been playing on your own.
