Farsight Alteration is even more powerful now because the ward lasts until it is actively destroyed. So, if the enemy team does not seek out to destroy them, technically you can light up the entire map with them. In real game situations, though, I'd recommend two people on a team get it to partly ward one's own jungle defensively and partly to light up bushes in enemy territory that are not often traveled through but may from time to time reveal some important information. Then, the support can use his or her sightstone and the jungler can use their tracking jungle item to ward more strategic and high trafficked areas. They should also have red trinkets to clear enemy Stealth Wards. Vinjerte has convinced me that the final person should probably stick with the yellow trinket to provide more Stealth Ward coverage. In my ideal team, I'd have top stick with yellow trinkets to support their split pushing while mid and adc switch to blue trinkets. However, a true vision meta hasn't been established yet. I keep having to beg teammates to get the blue trinkets.
Farsight was good to avoid facechecking, since most adcs don't have a tool for that and warding range is also death range. Plus the far-away ward is a good tool to have in a team, so the adc ended up having to get that because they shouldn't be the ones who ward/clear wards.
And yeah, farsight alteration is really strong atm. I'm betting Riot will nerf it or do something about it, because having permanent wards can be too much in some games. I'm betting adc is still its main niche, maybe the mid laner as a second best.
