the range nerfs are a pretty big deal. he no longer can be a ranged tank nuke sustained damage ffafter30 carry. he is going to have to get closer to deal damage (which makes sense because he is so tanky). the ms nerfs are to compensate, but i think that's just to help him in lane phase. i am guessing it won't mean a whole lot in fights and that's where the nerfs are really going to matter.

The range changes hurt his early top lane a lot. Because it forces him to be that one step closer to harass which puts him in range of a lot more gap closers. However, the MS buffs will compensate for this by allowing him to kite better and with his ult speed buff his chasing ability will be fantastic.
I also don't this hindering his teamfight much, in fact, the buff to his ult would help him position better to unleash his combo on a higher priority target. Will be a bit to get used to though for current Ryze players..
