Yeah Pub would be referred to Public (Solo Que games) which brings people to call others Pubstompers or PubStars ... basically saying you do good against uncordinated teams that have no real team work or communication ...but on the flip side some may refer these to poor premade teams as well ... Teams that just don't have the skill to be better then average ...
Why some champions (Ex: Evelyn) are considered PubStompers because they do well against teams that aren't communicating with MIA's or Wards or team comp ... etc.

Pub (or public) comes from old dota and HoN. Were you made public games, basicly normals. A pubstomper is some1 that teams upp with 3-5 friends and fight against 5 randoms.

It stands for Public house.
Oftenly a special kind of a bar where you usualy drink ALOT.

So who wanna beer?
Pub - LoL/HoN/DotA and plenty plenty more games (not only MOBA games) means public :P
But i find my 1st explanation a better one.
Pubstomp - coming into pub do beat anyone in drinking contests!
Pubstomp - LoL/HoN/DotA - OWN random n00bs in public games.

Weird, somewhere along the way, I converted it to "pugstomping"
Always leads to me thinking "Poor puppies..."

Therefore it can be inferred that "pub" probably is referring to said solo queue teams.
If anyone's played an MMORPG that requires some kind of team work (Guild Wars for example), you're probably familiar with the phrase "PUG", or "Pick-Up Group", referring to groups of random people who join a team on a whim and don't really know each other, just being in the group for the sake of completing a mission.
My theory is that "pub" is similar to this, but I don't know what it stands for.
My friend argues that "pub" has nothing to do with "PUG" and quite possibly isn't even an abbreviation.
Can someone help me settle this?
