A mastery token is an item that will show up in your inventory when you get an S-, S or S+ rating after a game.
You can only get them when the champion you are playing are either mastery 5 or mastery 6.
When the champion you are playing are mastery 5, you will get mastery 6 tokens for that specific champion whenever you get and S-, S or S+ rating. You can then spend 2 tokens and some blue essence to raise that champions mastery level from 5 to 6.
When the champion you are playing are mastery 6, its almost the same, except you only get mastery 7 tokens when you get S or S+ ratings, and you need 3 tokens to raise that champions mastery level.
