Champion Build Guide
Introduction
Hey, I'm Kasugunai and welcome to my
Vel'Koz guide. I've been playing League of Legends since August 2010, having peaked Challenger rank 2 in April 2018.I have been doing individual coaching (multiple games) since 2014 and played professionally for nearly a year from September 2015 to May 2016. Earlier last year I started my path to a more serious career in League of Legends esports, having worked in the German national league (ESLM) as an analyst for 2 weeks, in the Portuguese one (DreamcupPT) as a coach for 1 month and most importantly as the Head Analyst for Beşiktaş Esports in TCL 2019 Summer.
I took a break from esports until the end of this year's spring split for personal reasons, so in the meantime I figured I could write some short guides to assist people looking for updated setups and gameplay.

Getting Started
Before anything else, I want to make it clear that my guides are highly focused on how to play the champion to its highest level so I won't go into general concepts. For that you'd need to look up an extensive general guide but even then, it might be too much to cover without a proper coaching session.
Feel free to ask me any questions in the comments, I usually reply within a day unless I'm away from home. Alternatively, in the case that I'm live, you can also tune into my stream and ask me any questions and I'll answer if I'm not in-game.

Organic Deconstruction (Passive) |
INNATE: Vel'Koz's abilities apply a Organic Deconstruction stack for 7 seconds, stacking up to 3 times. Basic attacks refresh the duration on-hit. The third stack consumes them all, dealing 33 − 169 (based on level) (+ 50% AP) bonus true damage. |

Plasma Fission (Q) Target Range: 1050 / 1100 Cast Time: 0.25 Cost: 40 / 45 / 50 / 55 / 60 mana Cooldown: 7 |
ACTIVE: Vel'Koz fires an energy bolt that collides with the first enemy hit to deal 80 / 120 / 160 / 200 / 240 (+ 80% AP) magic damage and slow by 70% for 1 / 1.4 / 1.8 / 2.2 / 2.6 seconds, decaying over the duration. Plasma Fission can be recast after 0.25 seconds. At the end of its range, upon re-activation after 0.25 seconds, or upon colliding with an enemy, the bolt splits in half, each part firing in opposite directions perpendicular to the primary bolt's trajectory. RECAST: Vel'Koz splits Plasma Fission early. Plasma Fission restores 20 / 22.5 / 25 / 27.5 / 30 mana per target killed.

PASSIVE: Vel'Koz periodically stocks a Void Rift charge, up to a maximum of 2. ACTIVE: Vel'Koz opens a rift to the void that cuts through the ground in a line in the target direction over 1 second, dealing 30 / 50 / 70 / 90 / 110 (+ 15% AP) magic damage to enemies hit and leaving behind a trail. After a 0.75-second delay, the trail detonates, dealing 45 / 75 / 105 / 135 / 165 (+ 25% AP) magic damage to enemies within.

ACTIVE: Vel'Koz hurls a disruptive anomaly that reaches the target location after 0.55 seconds, briefly providing sight, dealing 70 / 100 / 130 / 160 / 190 (+ 30% AP) magic damage and suspending enemies in the area for 0.75 seconds. If the area is created close to Vel'Koz, enemies hit are also slightly knocked back in the direction of the cast.

PASSIVE - RESEARCHED: Deconstructing enemy champions marks them as Researched for 7 seconds. Basic attacks and ability damage refresh the duration. ACTIVE: After a 0.2-second delay, Vel'Koz channels for 2.6 seconds to project an energy beam in a line. The ray's trajectory updates itself over the duration to face the target direction. After 1 second, Life Form Disintegration Ray can be recast.The ray deals 34.62 / 48.08 / 61.54 (+ 9.62% AP) magic damage in 0.2 seconds intervals, and slows by 20% for 1 second. Organic Deconstruction is applied every 0.7 seconds to enemies hit. Researched enemies take true damage instead.RECAST: Vel'Koz ends Life Form Disintegration Ray early.
