So the reason why I started playing this way was mostly because I felt like Tank Yorick is extremely easily outplayable. I felt like Yorick needed more surprises in his kit. So I started testing Eclipse, Serylda's and found those to be the best items for Yorick.
I believe this is the reason why Yorick is not seen in professional play - the predictability.
With this I still split push and take towers, but additionally the ghouls can farm lanes on their own much better because of the damage and I can actually get the Nexus faster if the enemy team leaves me alone.
The biggest advantage for this build is that the enemy does not expect this. You can split a lane, then somebody recalls and they usually expect to be safe around a Yorick and just slowly stop your pushing and then BAM, you just kill them with E and win the game.
With this build you can take jungle camps much faster, take drakes with just 4 ghouls and of course kill somebody with just 4 ghouls.
Since patch 12.12 it's almost impossible to run away from ghouls when you get Serylda's Grudge. I take it both as an offensive item and a defensive. It's just the best item in the game for Yorick. Too much slow.
In the mid it's quite simple - just hit your E's and win. If you miss them, you might lose. Just hit like 50% of them and you will be fine. Maybe even 1/3 and it's fine. Of course the graves have to be ready to spawn the ghouls.
It's still ok to poke with just 2 graves, 4 is the best of course but 2 is still something.
