My Experience With Gnar

In the Early Game, Gnar's potential is pretty limited until you hit level 3. At level 3 you have a hard hitting W and a long range poke with Q, along with the mobility from your E which can be easily be doubled when jumping off of some sort of entity like a minion or champion. Gnars early must be played safely as his powerspike hits when he gets a phage. For the early all you shold be doing is farming and making good trades with your laner. A prime problem is when you face a ranged champion or somebody witha lot of mobility because they can get close to you and outtrade you. The way you counter this is by using Q to slow the target and even getting your 3rd W to pop if it is safe to do so, in this situation I'm primarily thinking Fiora, Riven or Irelia.
The Mid Game, This is Gnars strongest phase. He can run all around the lane with a phage and boots kiting the enemy very well and outtrading them almost everytime if played correctly. Gnar can out damage any laner as long as you pick trades at the right time. When youre nearing Mega Gnar (Big Gnar is how I refer to him as) youll have 3 forms of CC and with some basic combos further in the guide youll see how strong he really is. Chain CC is a key point here as Big Gnar utilises this extremely well. Youll soon start to encounter team fights, here youre prime objective is to have 100% rage and Use Little Gnar's E to double jump onto a carry and ult as soon as you land - This is also a key part in the late.
Late Game
Gnar in no way falls off even if hes 0/6, for example. Your CC is still there but as long as you've made the right decision in getting a tank build you'll do just fine. You may get bursted when you opt for the AD oriented build but you'll have higher damage output. For the late all you want to be doing is staying with the team is ESSENTIAL and SPLITPUSHING IS A NO-GO. If you split on Gnar while your team fights 4v5 they WILL lose the fight because you're a primary source of engage for the team.

[*] So Gnar has some pretty strong combos within his overlooked kit, I made i video showing them further:
[*] Big Gnar also has some pretty devastating combo which is the MOST EFFECTIVE combo! Here it is:
So from watching the short videos youll hopefully have an idea of what to do when laning and/or teamfighting as Gnar. One IMPORTANT thing to remember is that between EVERY BIG GNAR ABILITY You MUST Auto Attack for MAXIMUM DAMAGE
