Champion Build Guide
HELLO! I'm Edwwardo, an EUW silver Zeri mid main with 236k mastery as of this writing.
This Guide used to be called "⚡ AP Zeri Mid is still OP at 38% Winrate ⚡". With patch 12.23 reworking the entirety of Zeri's kit and making her W damage Physical, however, I had to find a replacement for my old trusty AP build. And boy did I find it! I took the time to try out many different builds in the practice tool to optimize her caster style build, so you don't have to. This guide is the result of that testing in combination with actual games. I have tried to optimize W damage throughout all stages of the game while making sure you get the most out of your hard earned gold. Have fun!
To start with, there are two main reasons why you should play Zeri mid:
⚡BECAUSE HER W has 130% AD Scaling and always Crits after hitting terrain
⚡NO SERIOUSLY, HER W IS BULL**** AND WILL TILT EVERYONE HIT BY IT INSTANTLY
⚡BECAUSE THE ENEMIES CAN'T REACH YOU ZAP⚡ ZAP⚡
STAY CLOSE TO WALLS! They are your escape and primary source of damage.
Make sure to always keep a wall warded so you can play around it with less risk. Don't hesitate to buy Control ward for this purpose.
If you suspect your lane opponent is recalling somewhere behind their tower, try to throw a cheeky W at their tower toward the spot you think they are recalling from. I've gotten a lot of free kills this way while the enemy is in their shop.
MID GAME: After two to three items you are extremely strong. Apply pressure around the map and help your team mates from afar.
LATE GAME: W GO BOOM ON ENTIRE TEAMS. make sure to stay safe since you're insanely squishy.
ALL GAME: Keep your distance. use your dumb range to farm wins. But don't be afraid to use your E >> R >> Q >> charged AA when they are low after an insane W.
Muramana is broken and here is why:
It gives you 2.5% of your max mana as AD, with a level 11 Zeri this means it gives a total of 72 AD for only 2900. This is already insane as it also gives you 860 mana and ability haste (more W:s). On top of that it gives you 1.5% of max mana extra damage on every ability, meaning 37 extra damage per W. These numbers are just for mid game, they go even higher!
Finally, the mana it provides gives you the opportunity to go for damage runes instead of mana regen runes = even more damage.
In short: get that Maramuna lol
Don't forget that your W slows, so if you land a W and flash + E to ULT them and they don't die then you will probably be able to land some extra autos on them to lock down the kill.
- It has a bad build path early game. The components are expensive and don't offer any lethality or dmg amp.
- The rest of your kit does not get boosted damage. This is especially sad for your all ins, but also for any cheeky W you throw withhout a wall.
- It offers less safety than Duskblade (duskblade's passive saves lives)
- It offers no ability haste. Long W cooldown = less W damage overall
