Tristana is a high-mobility AD carry known for her explosive damage and incredible scaling potential. Whether you're new to Tristana or looking to refine your skills, this guide will provide you with everything you need to dominate the Rift. We'll cover runes, item builds, combos, and essential gameplay strategies to help you make the most out of this powerful champion. Let's dive in and unlock Tristana's full potential together!

Pros:

+ Synergizes well with every Keystone rune

+ Super strong early game

+ Great waveclear

+ High attack range

Cons:

- Inconsistent scaling into late game: Hail of Blades provides a strong early game, but you become weaker in mid game. However, in late game, you outrange most champions, making her viable again.

- AP scaling on R, W, and E means abilities won't deal significant damage in late game.

- Difficult to freeze waves due to passive

Passive: Draw a Bead


Increases Tristana's Attack Range as she levels.

Q: Rapid Fire
Tristana fires her weapon rapidly, increasing her Attack Speed for a short time.

W: Rocket Jump
Tristana fires at the ground to propel her to a distant location, dealing damage and slowing surrounding units for a brief period where she lands.

E : Explosive Charge
When Tristana kills a unit, her cannonballs burst into shrapnel, dealing damage to surrounding enemies. Can be activated to place a bomb on a target enemy that explodes after a short duration dealing damage to surrounding units.

R: Buster Shot
Tristana loads a massive cannonball into her weapon and fires it at an enemy unit. This deals Magic Damage and knocks the target back. If the target is carrying the Explosive Charge bomb, the bomb detonation radius is doubled.

The Collector might be one of the more obvious choices for Tristana because you need to attack the same target repeatedly to fully stack her E ability and reset the W ability's cooldown. Therefore, Kraken Slayer is the perfect mythic item choice for you. To achieve the necessary critical strike chance, Navori Flickerblade and Infinity Edge are your best choices for second and third items. Sometimes, you may need to skip Infinity Edge for Lord Dominik's Regards when there are too many tanks around.

Your final items should be either Bloodthirster, Mercurial Scimitar, or Maw of Malmortius.

Press the Attack synergizes well with your E ability for a more bursty build, but it is generally recommended to use Lethal Tempo. Triumph and Treasure Hunter are also great runes for all-in-based champions like Tristana, which is why your secondary tree should be Domination.

Coup de Grace, Eyeball Collection, and Legend: Alacrity are great additions to maximize your damage output.

You can perform "insec" moves by jumping behind an enemy with W and kicking them into your team with R. When they die, you can jump out again without using flash.

If your W is on cooldown, try to land your fully stacked E by using Q afterward and spamming attacks on an enemy. If the bomb explodes, your cooldown gets reset, and you might be able to escape. Sometimes, attacking is the best defense.

Don't always use R to execute enemies. You can deny engages from champions like Leona or Alistar with it and save yourself or your teammates.

If you manage to get a fully stacked E off, your W cooldown will reset. Using that mechanic while in the air allows you to perform multiple jumps and make impactful plays in teamfights.

Reposition yourself with W as often as you can. Every time you get an assist or kill, its cooldown resets, allowing you to jump again.

You are very good at pushing towers, so focus on surviving teamfights. It's better to avoid a kill and stay alive than to die for a kill.

When you can't dodge a binding or hook, activate W before you get hit. You will escape anyway. Tristana's dash is one of the old-school dashes that still work like this. However, remember that you need to activate it before getting hit, and it may not allow you to escape from everything. You'll need to learn how it behaves.

Tristana may not be the top late game champion anymore, but she remains a joy to play, especially due to the explosive power of Hail of Blades and a fully stacked E in the early game. Her ability to burst down opponents within seconds makes her a formidable threat in the early stages of the match.

While the late game can still be enjoyable with Tristana, there are currently stronger choices available. However, her high mobility and strong early game potential make her a valuable pick for players who enjoy aggressive and fast-paced gameplay.
