Champion Build Guide
Guide by me fr
Introduction
Tank Yasuo is an unconventional but interesting way to play one of the most iconic champions in League of Legends. The standard Yasuo build focuses on dealing massive damage through crits and mobility, but the tank version allows him to be more durable and engage effectively, surprising opponents while providing your team with unexpected crowd control (CC) and frontline pressure.
Playstyle
The primary goal of tank Yasuo is to survive longer in teamfights compared to the traditional, more fragile Yasuo. By building tank items, you can be in the thick of the fight, soaking up damage while still dishing out decent damage and delivering key crowd control. As tank Yasuo, you become an initiator who can dive into the enemy team, activate your ultimate, and live long enough for your allies to finish off the enemies.
Laning Phase
In the early game, tank Yasuo plays fairly standardly, focusing on farming and minimizing losses. His kit allows for effective wave clear, while his passive shield provides extra safety during early trades. Due to lower damage compared to the classic build, your priority should be survival and farming until you reach crucial items. A key aspect is using Wind Wall (W) effectively to block important enemy abilities and Steel Tempest (Q) for safe harass and farming.
Mid-Game and Roaming
Once you have your first defensive items, you can start playing more aggressively and move around the map. Tank Yasuo excels at initiating fights and setting up ganks thanks to his mobile kit. Roaming to mid or assisting your jungler in skirmishes can give your team a significant advantage. During teamfights, focus on positioning yourself well for your ultimate – look for moments when multiple enemies are clustered together to maximize the impact of your Last Breath (R).
Teamfighting
In the later stages of the game, your role as tank Yasuo is to be on the frontline, soaking up damage. Good positioning is crucial – tank Yasuo can engage by dashing into enemies with Sweeping Blade (E), combining it with a charged Steel Tempest (Q) to knock up opponents and start the fight. When enemies are airborne, use Last Breath (R) to gain bonus armor penetration and provide your team with a window to deal damage. Thanks to your increased durability, you can survive extended fights, and your damage will become noticeable over time.
Conclusion
Playing tank Yasuo is about balancing aggression and defense. The key to success is skillfully using Yasuo’s mobility and CC in combination with his high survivability. Although his damage will be lower than the classic version, tank Yasuo can surprise enemies by lasting longer in fights while providing valuable crowd control.
