Rengar is one of the highest skill ceiling champions in the game. The mechanical skill expression is almost unmatched. Rengar is very versatile and when in the right hands, consistently one of the strongest champions in the game.
-Hard to master
-Hard to play from behind
-Difficult to gank before level 6
-Bad into tanky comps with alot of CC
-Very mechanically demanding
Rengar takes alot of practice and dedication to pull off. Playing from behind is almost impossible and small mistakes can cost you the game. You need a good understanding of wavestates to succesfully gank before level 6.
To start off, there is no universally correct clear. You have to adapt to the information the game gives you constantly. I start Red most games but will start Blue if i really want to path towards/away from one lane or if I'm afraid of getting late invaded. Starting Red generally gives you alot more options early like invading/ganking mid. Make sure to check your lanes while clearing so you don't miss out on possible ganks or counterganks. The more info you gather, the better.
Full Clear
The Full Clear is the most consistent clear in the game. It provides you with the safest early game, because you aren't at risk of losing Tempo on low percentage plays. You will path in a straight line towards Blue Buff. This will give you an advantage over the enemy jungler in the majority of your games.

I recommend learning to clear leashless. Getting a leash can instantly disadvantage your sidelane and result in you giving info to the enemy team for no reason. You should aim to always complete your full clear before scuttle spawns, the faster the better.

After you're done with your Full Clear, you can either look for a gank on mid or sidelane. If no gank is possible, you can take the scuttle crab at 3:30 and drop a ward in enemy jungle for future information (I recommend warding their Krugs or Raptors).
Notes
- Doing Gromp before Blue is alot better for Camp sequencing, but takes a little bit longer.
- I recommend not warding Krugs and saving it for future vision.
- Leaping repeatedly after using Q on Red extends the duration of the attack speed buff.
- Make sure to use your Q as an auto reset.
- Stay in combat with Blue until 3:20 so you have stacks for Crab.

Invade

Invading is a useful way of quickly getting a lead early game, especially in lower elos where people don't expect it. The goal is to kill the enemy Jungler at their Buff, and taking the Buff after, if possible.
To succesfully invade an enemy, you will have to start at your Red Buff and clear your botside for level 3 (Red, Krugs, Raptors).

You will need to know where the enemy Jungler started. You do this by either getting a ward on the enemy Junglers Raptors, or looking at which lane leashed. If the enemy Jungler isnt at his Raptors while you are clearing yours, they most likely started at their Blue buff. If they are, then they started at their Red Buff.

After acquiring this information, you are free to invade them at the Buff opposite of where they started. So if they started Red - invade their Blue, if they started Blue - invade their Red.
Notes
- Some Champions are impossible to invade if they beat you 1v1.
- Take Lane prio into account before invading. If the enemy laners can move before yours, you can't invade.
- It's useful to save your ward to put it over enemy Blue or Krug wall when invading.
- The higher the elo, the more risky invading is.
- If the enemy doesn't spot you waiting in the bush, let them take damage from their Buff before killing them. The more the better.

  • Invade Awareness: You should always ask your midlane to ward enemy Raptors at 1:25. If you expect a lvl 1 or 2 invade, you should ward your entrance or ask your midlaner to do so. Most level 3 invades aren't a threat with a few exceptions (ignite Talon, Shaco)
  • Map Awareness: Constantly check lanes. If you miss important information, you're going to miss out on good plays and go for
    bad
    ones.
  • Be Efficient: The best junglers look like theyre AFK farming, but they are simply ignoring low percentage plays and prioritizing good Farming. Only skip Camps if you get a guaranteed Kill or more.
  • Early Strength: Rengar has very strong early fights, especially after lvl 3, which makes invades viable. Don't force plays-if nothing is available, farm your camps efficiently, but if you see a free lvl 3 invade don't be afraid to go for it.
  • Ganking: Ganks can be difficult without good wave understanding. Look for opportunities to lanegank when waves are pushing towards you. After lvl 6 Ganking and Invading becomes a lot easier and you can get more aggressive.
  • Stack Management: Try to always have full ferocity after finishing your camps or when you're going for a play.
  • Listen to the Map: If unsure what to do, listen to your Camp and Objective timers. Be on Objectives on spawn with your gold spent.
  • Objectives: Grubs are great and you should take them if you can. Get your support to help you contest. If they're risky or uncontestable, trade Grubs for crossmap plays like bot dives, drakes or counterjungling.
Bonus Tip: The first Grub gives significantly more XP and Gold and can be cheesed alot of the time, even when you can't contest Grubs.
  • Maintain your lead: Don't throw your advantage - keep farming and play around your win condition. If you're behind, be patient and wait for the enemies mistakes.
  • Ult Sidelanes: It's often easy to catch enemies in sidelanes with your Ult. Look for picks constantly.
  • Dealing with ARAM: If both teams are grouping mid, don't mindlessly follow. Go sidelane and split push smartly. Avoid jumping into 5 people (boring, I know)
  • Efficiency: Stay efficient. If there's no clear play (invade, gank, trap), ignore pings and farm.
  • Objective Setup: The later the game, the more important it is to set up vision and position early. Be on Objectives early with your Gold spent and cooldowns up.
  • Teamfights: Position to assassinate the most valuable and killable target. Jumping over walls will make it harder to react to your leap. Getting a kill on a carry will instantly win you the fight. Surviving after leaping in can be difficult, especially if you're new to Rengar. Positioning, correct combos and patience are important.
  • Map Awareness: As always, WATCH THE MAP. Avoid getting trapped or collapsed on when you're sidelaning.
  • Sidelane Pressure: If your team allows it, go splitpush. Rengar oneshots turrets and can create huge pressure. Tier 2 sidelane turrets are worth 700g - don't ignore them.
  • Learn through patterns: League and Rengar especially are all about pattern recognition. Watch good players and review your own games. Rengars I recommend watching: NattyNatt, ScrubNoob, Pusi, Favo, Heybeyo, Geomener
