Intro
This is the recommended position for AD Thresh, as your rune and item choice will make you very squishy early. Support synergies are detailed later in the guide, and can be very important. Front line tanks that can absorb important enemy cooldowns and provide hard CC that allow Thresh to chain CC are always preferred to poking and squishy supports. Level 2 is a big power spike, so look for an opening then, and try to get it before the enemy bot lane. An aggressive lane is important. With the right support and ability to land important skill shots you can dominate lane, but dominating lane is almost necessary to win the game, so be sure to stay aggressive while making smart choices in laning phase.
Mid lane thresh is significantly more challenging than ADC, as you no longer have the peel and help of a support. Additionally, with a short auto attack range, slow movement speed, and low mobility, you can be very susceptible to ganks. Vision control and careful trades are very important. However, a major positive to Thresh mid is high gank potential. With hard cc and your lantern, you can receive early ganks better than any mid laner you will face. It is important to not expect these ganks though. You're playing something off meta and the jungler may decide to pretend you don't exist this game. That happens, and you need to be able to work around it. You have very high kill potential under tower, and once you finish RFC, have good enough poke to get your opponent down some and look for an all in. This is a very difficult thing to pull off, so do not get frustrated if it takes some time to get the hang of.
Once you're out of lane things will mostly resemble a normal ADC game. A very important thing to keep in mind is that your first auto attack is where you will do a majority of your damage, so do your best to have it at full damage potential(RFC and E passives - E passive takes 10 seconds to fully charge) and try to target someone squishy and important (Carries). Additionally, your galeforce and flash cooldowns are very important, as your short auto range puts you in range of many skillshots.
