This build provides more damage than any other bruiser Akali build. It gives more burst, better poke, more all in damage and more consistency. Sheen is a cheaper item than blasting wand, and it gives more damage. Full Divine Sunderer also gives stronger power than Riftmaker, not to mention better healing. Nashor's tooth gives a lot more damage than Lich bane. Your build path should be flexible around how the enemy team itemizes, and the only Core items are Divine sunderer and demonic embrace. After that, Nashor's tooth, BotRK, Lord dominik's, Void staff, Mejai's and Sterak's are all great options. Sterak's is my favorite since it gives tons of teamfight power with the shield and healing, and doesn't sacrifice too much damage. Zhonya's and Banshee's are also fine choices, but sterak's is usually better.
Starting Items and Early Game
Your starting items can be very flexible. Most of the time, you want to run Doran's shield because it keeps the adaptive force you have on the AD side, and makes laning in top lane easier. Doran's ring is also good in top if the matchup is even. If you hard win the matchup, consider going dark seal.
With this Build, you will mostly want to be playing safe levels 1-5. You want to base for sheen on level 5 because once you hit level 6 with sheen you have incredible kill potential on practically all champs. This build provides similar burst to Riftmaker, but the burst is much more consistent because you have a sheen item.
Late Game
This build provides probably the best late game of any Akali build, since it allows you to beat any champion in a side lane no matter who they are, even full tanks won't survive your full damage. This makes you a dangerous threat and you can actually take towers because of the sheen effect. If you can't find an opening or a flank in a late game teamfight, front to back fighting isn't as horrendous because you have tons of healing and HP stacked, and you deal with tanks very well.
Item Choices
This build is very flexible and really good at adapting for different situations. Your only core item is Divine Sunderer. After that, you want a defensive AP item. The best two options are Demonic Embrace and Zhonya's hourglass, and Banshee's is ok if you're against heavy magic damage. You then want as much damage as possible from your third item. The highest damage possible for as little price against squishies is always nashor's tooth. If two or more champs have build MR, Void staff is absolutely insane. You want to go Nashor's 4th if you go void staff 99% of the time. If you think you already have enough damage and just need survivability, Sterak's is absolutely great. Your last item completely depends on the situation. If you still feel like you don't have enough back line pressure, Deathcap works. If you feel like you aren't able to kill the enemy tanks, Lord Dominik's is absolutely insane. If there is an enemy with tons of health stacked just destroying your team, BotRK is a fine choice as well, even though Lord Dom's is still probably better here.
Extra Notes
This build isn't a replacement for the assassin Rocketbelt build. It provides nowhere near the amount of burst.
This build isn't that good in the mid lane. It's much better against the HP stackers in top lane.
You can't waste abilities on this build. You have to use as many passive procs as you can. The only passive procs that are fine to not take are the E1 and R1 procs. Otherwise, simply spamming your abilities doesn't work on this build.
