you can't really push him under tower and roam nor kill him in lane so he neutralises you well. He will just push and keep you under tower. Use your q to proc his passive and all in him when his passive is on cd before 6 or if he has no ult.

galio is made to smash ap meele's (only dianna is an even matchup) and sylas is the perfect example.Just inform your teammates when he steals your ult.

it might feel super hard to play against her. but after you get your protobelt you can roam and problem's solved!She has good kill pressure on you so be carefull and don't E onto her cause she can E you back and get an 100-0 trade.
Yasuo
In theory this matchup seems super favourable.If you overextend and die it's hard to comeback play a bit safe and don't miss your cc abilities otherwise you will get destroyed.
Diana
even though she seems easy she is way to strong at the moment and you should respect her.the muchup is a bit favourable for you but again it's very hard to comeback if y make a single msitake.
Corki
He is very squishy and he might be high range but if you catch him he is dead or out of lane .He can somewhat match your roams with package but yours are still superior.
Ekko
He can't really all in you if he doesn't hit his stun just try to avoid it and you should be fine.
Vel'Koz
he has a lot of range but he can't really do anything if you all in him. try your best to dodge his skillshots and you will be able to beat him.
Anivia
it's hard to kill her if she plays well and since most anivvias are one tricks they usually know what they are doing.Her passive gives her 1 less death every 5 minits and her cc and wall are very annoy.
Zed
this matchup can go both sides but galio has the advantage.Just don't use all your spells when you all in him because he can turn to you with his ult.As a general tip vs zed with any champ:when he does the w-e-q combo try to dodge the suriken that zed throws .
Lux
just dodge her q.If you get on top of her you can destroy her.
Ryze
He is squishy and has low range, which allows you to get on top of him easy.He outscales you by a lot but most games he will not hit late game.
Ahri
with her ult she can easily dodge your E in engage .Try to dodge her charm and get a lead before six.Still the muchup is winable
Akali
Very good matchup for Galio. Don't all in her before level 3 and try to use your w defensively.Don't underestimate her .
Twisted Fate
His poke is not that bad and you can outrade him if you hit your cc .His goldcard is very annoy so just w8 for him to use w and then all in him.His ult allows him to follow and match your roams very well.The matchup can go both ways.
Veigar
This matchup favours veigar a little bit. Try your best to dodge his q and w and all in him when he uses his cage.
Katarina
Great matchup for galio. Just be careful and remember that if you use all your cc she can run you down if her ult is up.
Annie
After the buffs her playrate sky rocked. Her range is too much and her point and click stun can stop you very easly.try to push safly and roam if you get ahead you can win the muchup.
Kassadin
Try to get an advantage befor level 6 or else you can't really kill him in lane if he plays well.just try your best to get your others lane ahead because if he gets level 16 you lose the game.
Irelia
She can't really win a trade against you.Should be an easy matchup.
Qiyana
She can't all in you at any point.Be carefull when she hits 6 if you don't get stunned by her q you can win the trade. Don't go in with all your cc cause she might be able to turn on you.
Orianna
her poke is really strong and if she potisions well it's hard for you to reach her.Try your best to shove her under tower and roam or ask for a gank.
Aurelion Sol
doubt you will ever see him but when you do you need to be extremly careful. He can roam very well so be sure to inform your team when he is missing.At levels 1 and 2 he can put you under tower very easly. Buy boots early vs him so you can make it harder for him to position well
Fizz
If he uses his E you can punish him by going all in on him and getting a very favourable trade.Try to bait his E because if you E in he can just E out
Ornn
Ornn is a muchup slightly favourable for Galio.Punish him when he uses w or q and look to not get hit by his q-e combo.
Neeko
Hard muchup.She can dodge your all in with her w and her root makes her pretty safe.Try to punish her if she uses it and look to roam or freeze and kill her with your jungler.
Renekton
You can't 1vs1 him unless he is super behind.When he all ins you use your w as his burst will be weaker and you can rush tabi against him to significantly lower his damage.Try to peel your carries when he divies onto them in teh later stages of the game.
Rumble
He is easy but you need to respect him. All in him when his passive is low or he is sclineced for a very favourable trade.You can all in him after level 3.
Zilean
the matchup is favourable for zilean.If you dodge his stun you can win the trades.Try to punish him early game because his midgame is very strong in the right team comp.
Nocturne
Very underated midlaner .He is very strong and you can't all in him because if he W's your Eyou willl lose every trade and his global pressure after six can match your ult.
Azir
After 6 if the azir player is fast he can R your E.Don't stay inside his solders because they can deal massive damage.Great muchup for Galio.
Zoe
she is very squishy if you are able to go on top of her you should be able to win every trade.Just be careful of her sleep.
Lissandra
whoever gets priority in this muchup wins and usually Galio is the one who gets it.Try to dodge her q level 1-2 and all in her level 3 to get lane control.
Talon
Talon is a melee so Galio should be favourable.His early damage is better and his waveclear is better as well.If talon gets nerfed ( He is op for so long) this muchup should be even.
Xerath
his range is too much but you can still win trades if you hit your E. dodge his poke as much as you can and stay out of the wave so he doesn't hit both you and the minions.Still winable
Pantheon
very good matchup overall.You much his early game damage and wave clear and also his ult roams.If you don't feed him you should win.
LeBlanc
After leblanc uses her w you can get a very strong trade.With protobelt your waveclears are even so her roams are not as threatening.
Vladimir
if he ever uses his w he is very vulnerable Try to bait it and all in him. At level 2 if he gets E get w and try to connect it on him you will get a great trade with q+aftershock
Cho'Gath
this muchup favours cho.His W is rly strong and if you try to all in him he will q onto him so you can't get melee range.Try your best to doodge his q and all in him if he uses it.Poke with q but his passsive give him insane sustain.
Viktor
Slightly favourable for galio.Try to get a good trade pre-3 and after that try to bait his w so you can all in him.His w cdr level 1 is 17 sec so look to punish him.Keep in mind that his q gives him movement speed.
Lucian
He might be a ''long'' range adc but in order to hit you (except with his ult )he needs to get into your range.Don't underestimate his early damage and respect his level 6.
Aatrox
A counter pick for galio. Complitlly destroys him.Look to all in him if his q is on cdr and at the early laning phase .After he has some points in q you can't fight him.
Kog'Maw
There is a new poke-ap kog built that pro midlaners have started to try out(Bjergsen for instance).He is very squishy .Try to freeze near your tower and all in him with your E or just push and roam.Should be an eazy match up
Gangplank
eazy matchup. Doodge his barrels and all in him with e scince his w can't remove knock ups.Remind your teammates when his ult is up.
Heimerdinger
very hard to deal with if he sets up his towers well.try to all in him if he steps out of his towers and kill them with q.Take absolute focus to kill the towers easier.

the classic ''wombo combo'' synergy. Jarvan ults and you ult.That's all.

It's easy to get prio as galio in the early game. look to help out your junglers with river control and scudles. Also you have great gank setup so freezeing in front of your tower and setting up a gank is very good.Trade around your w's passive cdr and your aftershock. You can't get outraded if you are careful.If you are vs a melee champion try to hit both him and last hit the minions with your passsive.Look to roam after level 6 by shavingunder tower or by getting a tempo advantage with tp.Use your ult well because it's cdr is masssive.Also you don't have to roam all the time you are no talon,you can exceed your lead since you are a great laner.
mid game
If you are not behind you can probably one shot the enemy adc with your magic pen.look to help your team create a members advantage with your tp and ult and focus the enemy carries.You can split push very well with your waveclear and ult so look to abuse it.
Late game
You start to fall of a little bit ( especially if you are vs a cass , a ryze or an oriana).look to splitpush and peel for your carries or dive the enemy backline but that's not always an option (janna :( ).
conclusion
Galio is a strong early-mid game champion. You should pick him vs melees especially if they are ap and assassins in general. Very storng counterpick and still somewhat blind pickable.Look to ban Ahri,Orianna,neeko or tristana(not a lot of people play trist is soloq but she is hard to deal with if she repects your all in).I believe that Galio is a great champion to add in your champion pull easy to learn mechanically but needs good macro to be piloted to his full potential.I hope this guide helps you and sorry if my English are not insane,I am not a native speaker.I will answer any questions you have.
