His engage is really simple, he's tankier than you and has lower cds. Play defensively as he can counter your W with his Q or W. Btw, you can dodge his dash if you time your E or W correctly.
Amumu
Amumu is quite dangerous on any stage of the game. He has 2 Q's to secure early levels and his ultimate is stronger than yours. Buy Mikael's Blessing and peel for your carry.
Thank god that he can't be as tanky as jungle Amumu and pick him whenever he's wandering without his team.
Anivia
Playing against experienced Anivia is hard: she can easilly disengage with W and Q, and her R is a pretty strong zoning ultimate.
Make sure to use your ultimate only if she doesn't have wall or CC.
Annie
She has tons of CC, deals damage and gives strong shields. Play around her passive stacks and be careful after lvl 6, since she can ******** you with Tibbers and her adc.
Ashe
Buy Mikael's Blessing to counter her ultimate and Redemption if you're getting poked to death.
She'll probably buy Umbral Glaive, so using Ghost Poro is a bad idea.
If you manage to get on top of her, she's gone.
Buy swifties if she focuses you and you get hit by every W.
Bard
He's quite a Jack of all trades, but master of none, unless you're playing against Bard OTP.
Make sure to stand behind at least 2 minions, try to deny him roams and using his W. In case he's absent, ping your teammates and check objectives.
Blitzcrank
Skill matchup but you'll get hooked a lot while E'eing to your team.
His hook has a really narrow hitbox, but cd is longer and mana cost is really high, so you can abuse that. You can provoke him to waste his hook by walking away from minions and hiding back or dashing to your ally.
Blitz Q = 20/19/18/17/16 sec.
Brand
"Just dodge skillshots lol"
You can bait his W by walking on the edge of it's range. If he wants to hit you, he can, by flaming minions and using E on them. Play around cds and punish him for whiffing.
Buy Mikael's Blessing if your teammates always get stunned by his Q; Redemption if he pokes you really hard.
Braum
Uhh, he's supposed to be a frontliner, but also to stay in backline? Such a pitty.
Look out for adc before trading, because his CC is useful only when there's someone with high Attack Speed.
Galio
Once again, Jack of all trades.
He deals a lot of damage if he lands his E, so try baiting it before all-ins.
Also aim accuratelly, because E moves him slightly backwards and this can result in you missing your engage tool and getting punched by another bird.
Gragas
His E cancels all your dashes, he can insec you, he also has a pretty good sustain and he also might deal a lot of damage.
Either way, he shouldn't be as OP as on other roles due to how much money supports usually have.
Heimerdinger
You can't play when he has his turrets around, wait for your jungler, get on top of him, kill him (maybe you'll die for this kill).
Janna
She can easily disengage your R with her Q and R, so play patiently. Her Q's cd is always 12, and some Janna players prefer to poke with this skill, which gives you an opening during the laning phase
Karma
Jack of all trades, but actually master of some. Try baiting her Q by standing on the edge of skills range, but be careful, since empowerd Q has more range due to explosion it makes. You can counter her W by using E, since you should be able to engage when either she or her adc makes a mistake.
Leona
Basic Engager/Engager matchup, play around cds and wait for an opening or a gank. Try baiting her E, by standing on the edge of its range.
Q cd is always 5.
E cd = 12/10.5/9/7.5/6.
Lissandra
Her cc is primarily used to disengage and due to how short the animation is, it's pretty easy fo her to disengage your W.
Buy Mikael's Blessing to counter her ultimate.
Lulu
The only reason this matchup can be hard is due to her disengage, which is pretty annoying. But you can wait untill she wastes her W on an ally and then you can engage.
W cd = 17/16.5/16/15.5/15.
Lux
"gl hf" by a Lux player is the most cynic thing you can see in your life.
Try to bait her skills and stand behind at least 2 minions.
Q's cd is always 11.
Malphite
That's not a champion untill lvl 6. Sure, he terrorizes whole toplane, but he can't buy toplane items while being support. After lvl 6 ward as much as you can, because no one will be pleased from Malphites ult outta nowhere.
Milio
He easily abuses Rakan weaknesses by making poke hurt more, disengaging your ultimate with his own. But the worst is the fact, that this LIONEL MESSI can disengage your W by randomly kicking his ball. Make sure to ult him first, so he doesn't use his R asap.
Q's cd is always 12.
R cd = 160/145/130.
Maokai
Three simple CC skills will not allow you to do anything on lane and during teamfights. If he uses W you can time your E to get him deep into your backline, when he'll die or root your whole team. Rush Mikael's Blessing to peel for your carry, when he ults, hide behind your teammate and then use cleanse on him.
Miss Fortune
Uhh, I don't know.. She can slow you and interfere her adcs farm with her Q? Her E gives vision, and she has some additional MS from her W, but that's it.
Morgana
RIP BOZO YOU WON'T BE MISSED. I don't need to explain this. Buy Mikael's Blessing to counter her Q in important moments.
Don't engage on a shielded enemy and be careful, since she also can ult and run into your team. Morgana players usually take Perfect Timing, pay attention to her KDA so you won't be outplayed.
Nami
She's really annoying, since she denies you your main stat - movement speed. Bait her Q and try to hide from her vision, since if she's pressing W she easilly outtrades you.
You can buy Swifties in case she focuses you, so her "disengage" isn't as efficient.
Nautilus
He can cancel his autoattack animation into his hook so be careful. Mikael's Blessing is useless against his hook and ultimate, so don't waste your money. Deny his escape by dashing between him and a wall.
Neeko
Neeko always been quite a pain the ***, but after the rework she's even more annoying. Try to bait her skills by standing on the edge of their range and count minions while they come.
Pantheon
Yeah, it's really fun to play against statchecker who says some ******** about Gods and never giving up. Don't facecheck unless you're sure he won't kill you. Pantheon players usually like to sit in the lane bush and wait untill someone comes close enough. Ward bushes so he'll be less dangerous, ping your teammates if he's absent.
Poppy
Rakan W is really hard to disengage, because you need to cancel his dash, which is possible only with mind games.. or picking Poppy who has a button, which denies Rakans' whole kit. Consider dodging if you see her.
W cd = 24/22/20/18/16
Pyke
Pyke is pretty much like Rakan but better, he easily gains vision, since he can buy Umbral Glaive, he's as mobile as Rakan is, but he uses other items and his cc is harder to hit. You can buy Redemption, so it'll take more time before he can execute someone with his ult. Don't use Ghost Poro if playing against Pyke, because as I said, he builds Umbral Glaive.
Rell
Mikael's Blessing is useless against her W and R, play around her cds and try to bait her W, but be careful, since while getting her horse back she's really fast.
Renata Glasc
She's not dangerous at all, her only disengage tool is Q with a pretty clunky animation. Bait her Q and after you get on top of her, she's pretty much dead.
Senna
She can poke you through minions, but if you position properly, it's easy. Her utility is useless, she has no disengage tools. Senna players usually buy Umbral Glaive, so it's hard to win vision against her.
Seraphine
"YaAaAaAaaAaAaaAaAAaA"
Same as Lux, bait her abilities. Buy Mikael's Blessing to counter ger ult and if she's going utility, buy Chemtech Purtrifier. E's cc depends on your current state, if you're slowed, her usual E will root you, and if rooted - you'll be stunned. If you're stunned, her E will press FF for you.
Sett
Sett support usually uses same tactic, as Pantheon: sit in bushes till someone comes closer. You should also be aware of his E>Flash combo, which can catch you off guard. He needs enemies from both sides for his E to stun, otherwise you'll be only pulled.
Shen
Another filled toplaner, but if Sett and Pantheon have good damage, he only has very predictable taunt. His W doesn't affect you at all and his Q is quite useless. Ping your teammates if you see his ultimate animation and don't do anything risky unless you're sure he can't interfere.
Sona
She can't do anything against you, except her R. It's quite easy to roam, when you're plating against enchantress support, since they can't do much to your adc.
Soraka
Good Soraka player won't let you to engage during laning phase with her E. Same spell can **** you up later, when you'll be trying to escape from a teamfight, so be careful. Buy Chemtech Purtrifier to make her less effective
Tahm Kench
Go back to toplane! Be careful of his engage from no vision and stand behind minions, so he won't kiss ya.
Rakan
This lane ain’t big enough for two handsome men.
Taric
Taric is actually a pretty decent and even dangerous character. Usually Taric players cheese their opponents lvl1: sit in the bush and then jump on a victim with stun and Ignite. He becomes even scarier after 3 level, when he can just press M2 on you and mash Q, till his out of mana. His passive gives him 2 empowered autoattacks, which reduce skills cd. Pay attention to enemy adcs' position, if you're playing against Tristana or Ezreal, be ready for their dashes with Tarics' E. His ultimate has a really long animation and makes everyone in its area immortal (they still take damaged and ccd). Try to deny him getting closer to his team and don't waste Ignite if you're late.
Thresh
Thresh has lots of functions outside his hook: he can disengage your W, but it requiers mind games and predicting your engage. You can put a Pink Ward on top of his lattern, so enemies will hit it instead of lattern. Don't get hit by his wall while you're ulting, cuz it slows you by 99% (!). When you get to lane, check his passives: E gives him passive autoattack damage. If he has this passive, then you're safe from his hooks till lvl 2.
Q (hook) cd = 19/16.5/14/11.5/9
W (lattern) cd = 21/20/19/18/17
E (flay) cd = 11/10.5/10/9.5/9
Twisted Fate
Uhh, TF is already bad on mid, why would someone take it to support? Wait untill he wastes his golden card and then you're free to engage.
W cd is always 6 seconds.
Veigar
He easilly zones you away with his E, but it has a pretty ****ty cd on early levels. You can buy Mikael's Blessing, so your adc is allowed to play more agressive.
E cd = 20/18/16/14/12
Vel'Koz
You don't need to bait him into wasting his skills, he'll spam his Q whenever he can. Pay attention to his positioning, because he can send his Q into no vision and then it gets to you. Don't waste your W untill he ults. His E throws you away from him if you're close enough, so you should be careful when using ult. Buy Knights Vow if your carry is getting erased from his true damage.
Q cd is always 7.
E cd = 16/15/14/13/12
Vex
She deals lots of damage to you, due to her passive countering your dashes. Play around her "depressed kid" meter, because she can just press W and you're ****ed.
W cd = 20/18/16/14/12.
Xerath
Vel'Koz, but worse. Sure his ult range is huge, but his disengage tool is so **** if you position correctly. Look out when he's charging his Q and step away.
Yuumi
"Oh, so you're Xayahs' pet!" **** you, parasite! It's hard to play against Yuumi, because she still can go to a fed Hecarim and make him immortal. You can roam to prevent this Hecarim from feeding on your poor teammates and buy Chemtech Purtrifier to counter her healing, no more counter play to an untargetable champion.
Zac
Ward everything, he has lots of angles for engage. He can proc his Q pull with plants and wards, so avoid these.
Ziggs
Sure, he can disengage with his W, but that's it. Ping your low hp teammates, when he's absent, because this desperate mf is probably looking for any kills.
Zilean
He can make your engage look goofy af, because his slow is really powerful. Don't underestimate his damage and DON'T KILL ADC WHILE HE HAS ZILEANS ULT!
Zoe
It doesn't really matter whether she's midlane or support, she still can one shot you. Her sleep is interupted if someone autoattacks you, so if you're caught off guard in jungle - you can attack monster once and he'll break Zoes setup. Her bubble gets further if sent through obstacles, so if she's hiding behind walls, be ready. You can also build Mikael's Blessing to save your teammates from her annoying cc.
E cd = 16/15/14/13/12.
Zyra
Yeah, she can solo baron, she has good cc and damage, but she provides zero utility for her team, relies on skillshots and not as mobile as Rakan. You can easily run her down after she wastes her root and there's no setup. She cam stack 2 plants and place them during Q or E animation for more damage. Play passively and crush her in midgame. Zyra players sometimes buy Rylai, so you can buy Swifties.
W (plants) cd = 18/16/14/10/8.
E (root) cd is always 12.
