What are honor ribbons?

"Honor is a point system introduced to League of Legends on October 1, 2012. The Honor system was created to incentivize positive behavior among the League of Legends community and identify summoners that would be considered pillars of the community. Currently, Honor does not provide any rewards or perks other than the points themselves, though this could change in the future.
Players can only honor other players in matchmade games (including Co-op vs AI), as this feature is unavailable for Custom games."

I have XXX honors but still don't own that honor ribbon, WHY? :(

First, let me tell you, that nobody is sure how honor ribbons get awarded, except Rito. I think that Rito tracks, how many games you've played and how many honors you gave away to others. Further more, I think they are tracking how often you get honored by the same summoner (maybe your friend?).
Summing up everything, I think you will get a honor ribbon, if you get honored each 2nd game one time (by different summoners).

Main behavior for EACH ribbon!

First, say Hello Guys :) or something like that in champion select.
Then go on with gl & hf :P in All-Chat at beginning of the game.
At the end say GG wp in All-Chat.

I hope you already see, that its pretty easy :)

Red Ribbon

If you want the Red Ribbon, you have to be a "HONORABLE OPPONENT".
Your main aim is on being active and polite during the whole game in All-Chat!
Talk to your opponent by telling jokes or praise your opponent after a good play.
Remember, that you shouldn't flame or insult others aswell and that you cannot KS or be a jerk and expect this to work. ;)
This nearly ALWAYS works, if you say it was funny playing with you guys, well played indeed :) at the End-Game Chat.

Green Ribbon

If you want the Green Ribbon, you have to be "FRIENDLY".
Say some funny things like LoL Jokes during the game and protect your allies IN A FRIENDLY WAY of other flaming summoners.
Remember, that you shouldn't flame or insult others aswell and that you cannot KS or be a jerk and expect this to work. ;)
This nearly ALWAYS works, if you say you guys were very FRIENDLY at the End-Game Chat.

Blue Ribbon

If you want the Blue Ribbon, you have to be "HELPFUL".
Pick a supportive champion, who is needed by your team (mostly Tank Support xD) and try to land as many wards, heals and shields as you can, to show that you just want to be helpful! Point this out at chat, too.
Remember, that you shouldn't flame or insult others aswell and that you cannot KS or be a jerk and expect this to work. ;)
This nearly ALWAYS works, if you say I like HELPING polite guys, like you were at the End-Game Chat.

Yellow Ribbon

If you want the Yellow Ribbon, you have to show "TEAMWORK".
Pick the champ, who is needed by your team comb mostly. Then point out at champion select that "you don't mind being a team player".
Concentrate on good suggestions and the right calls during the game.
Remember, that you shouldn't flame or insult others aswell and that you cannot KS or be a jerk and expect this to work. ;)
This nearly ALWAYS works, if you say very nice TEAMWORK at the End-Game Chat.

This is exactly how you should behave in EACH game to get the spirit of your team up and winning more games :) I can understand you, if you are tilted by a raging 0/11/0 Mid , but flaming won't work.
