Few words from the writer of this guide.
Here I would like to briefly say what makes Janna play in the MID is profitable.
As you all probably noticed how strong Janna is in season 7. Especially in the season which we needs a strong late-game. As a support we quicly reach late-game because our late is all slots for items (support items are chipper than AP items) + shield at level 5. And everyone who plays on the support knows what this fact is, so this is Ardent and the supporting item that gives us plenty of gold in exchange for a passive game - nothing simpler. Is it profitable or is it possible?
Now I would like to compare why Janna in mid is better than this at the expense of typical Midlanner. It is a simple fact that playing solo on a line is much easier for us to make money and to gather our experience. And first of all we stop being a supporter of the lack of a farm and the lack of killi and split pot of exp. So if we can achieve higher lvl faster and faster to get rich or can we invest in other items that are typically aimed for the support make us apart from the supporting character with a solid strike? When playing under AP, our shields are better than passive percentage skill. And besides, we have CC with Dmg and the ultimate ultimate.
If you can't cs well with low aa power thats isnt champion for you.
In general, how does Janna work in the mid? Her task is adapt for the current game. What does it mean ? Depending on your needs we are a burster or a magician supporter.
Janna may not look like it, but she can squeeze a ton of damage, especially in the game we will miss E and we will add items like Echo Luden.

We have Q which also got patched with patch [7.18]. We have 12 s CD on each level + our tornado always flies 1.5s.
If our primary damage it
60/85/110/135/160 (+ 35% AP)
In addition, we have damage for every second (up to 3).
15/20/25/30/35 (+ 10% AP)
Overall for 3 s of coding our scaling from AP is 35% + 3 * 10% = 65%. Pretty good ?
[W]
Our W is the main part of our DMG. Why? Because we have a 100% guarantee that the target will receive damage (unless it becomes non-targetable). Plus practically every time it launches Echo luden.
Damage:
60/115/170/225/280 (+ 50% AP)
(+ 15% / 25% / 35% ms bonus).
SLOOW:
24/28/32/36/40% (+ 6% per 100 AP)
As you can see with lightning and echo luden the same W + AA is able to recover.
[E]
This is a shield that has been nerfed and particularly not interested us because in most of the situation we max the last. I use it early in the farm because it gives us min 10Ad for start + 70 barriery. Skill which we do not need to mid-late game.
SHIELD STRENGTH:
70/105/140/175/210 (+ 70% AP)
BONUS AD:
10 / 17.5 / 25 / 32.5 / 40 (+ 10% AP)
[R]
Here is the skill that shows how important we are to our team in the team fights. If we will get positioned, we can save and keep the entire team before death to make them unkillable. When playing with Ardent the whole team gets a buff.
It is worth adding to this skill we are refilling skills such as R Syndra. In the early we often use it to push back the jungler or to heal to the full on the line as we do not want to return to the base.
Heal scaling for every 0.5 s. The effect lasts 3 seconds.
50/75/100 (+ 25% AP)
So late in the 500 + AP we treat
6 * 100 + 125 * 6 = 1350 in 3 seconds.
High movement speed
Janna's got really high movement speed because she gets a movement speed boost from her W ability's passive, Zephyr (speed scaling with AP). In addition to that, your passive grants you and nearby allies 8% increase movement speed.
Really good peel
As said before, Janna has 3 forms of CC in her kit. She's got a strong slow on her W, a knock-up on her Q and a knock-back on her ultimate. With all of that + the items that I recommend, it isn't hard to understand why Janna's one of the most irritating champions to play against as an assassin.
Enhances trades mid lane
Janna's E, Eye of the Storm, is one of the best abilities found . It provides herself with AD and absorbs damage, which you'll see is invaluable mid where trading plays a big role. When you takes negative damage and deals extra, it's easy to win trades and fights.
Carry potential
As long we win lane is hard to lose lane again 1v1 and we output one midllaner. In mid game we are awesome annoying we are everywhere by move speed saving and finishing it. We just coming and do what need to be needed and we taking advantage more. In teamfight single R can win game coz OP healing.
Super Squishy
She is easy to kill 2v1 or by assasin who can dogde our slows or other skills like Kayne, Nocturn, or Katarina. We cant fight with champions with super low coldowns chapions like Katarina.
She have mana problems
Coz she have big mana cost and low cd we arent able to force all time without blue so we need manage skills smartly. Or we need to have hope our jungle wont need blue.
