Firstly your only source of damage is your Z. If you miss your Z in a 1v1 or in teamfights you will be as useful as the Gromp, and then at least he spends gold.
Secondly, Kai'Sa's Z doesn't go through minions and it's a rather thin skillshot, really not easy to put on depending on the opposing champions and the placement of the minions waves.
High Mobility Assassins are nearly impossible to kill even if you are way ahead, they have tools to dodge your Z.
Champions like Braum / Yasuo / Samira can counter your Z easily, very frustrating to play against I advise you to ban Yasuo.
