Champion Build Guide
Brief info & Tips
Nocturne is a formidable jungler, especially with a lethality build, in scenarios where your team doesn't require a tank or sustained damage.
Timing your W correctly against the enemy's CC skills is crucial—it can determine the outcome of a duel. Employing E at the opportune moment against enemies without escape abilities greatly increases your chances of securing a kill. Leveraging the speed boost and bonus damage from Q is excellent for farming and split-pushing. With a lethality build, you can demolish T2 to T4 towers in seconds with 3-5 items. Additionally, minions will typically fall to your Hydra in two hits, allowing you to clear entire waves in 4-5 hits or within three seconds.
Avoid being provoked by your teammates' pings or messages. Focus on reaching level six and acquiring at least two Long Swords or a Pickaxe to ensure successful ganks, achievable after 1.5 full jungle clears.
Resist the urge to rush Tiamat. Your passive offers sufficient early AoE for farming. When building into Hydra, prioritize acquiring a Pickaxe and two Long Swords first for optimal DPS.
Utilize Q for movement speed and bonus damage during duels, farming, and split-pushing. Your mana will suffice, and in the mid-to-late game, Q's cooldown will be virtually nonexistent.
In the early game, keep an eye on the minimap to track the enemy jungler. If they opt for Void Spawns and you assess them as challenging to defeat early on, consider taking the Dragon instead. Conversely, if the enemy focuses on the Dragon, seize the opportunity to take Void Spawns. Often, you'll find the void bugs distribution ending in 3:3, 4:3, or even 6:0.
Prioritize Void Bugs over Wind Dragons in early game, assessing the Dragon type before making your move.
Farming is key.
If a gank isn't feasible, focus on farming.
If the enemy jungler is ganking top and you're in the mid or bot lane, farm their jungle or engage enemy champions.
During team fights where your damage output may be lacking, push lanes, take down towers, and use R to either assist with vision, create panic among enemies, or both. Even if your team loses the team fight, your split-pushing abilities, comparable to those of Lethal Miss Fortune or Jinx, can pressure enemies to recall, potentially saving your team from an enemy push. Kiting and strategic sacrifices might be necessary to distract multiple enemies from focusing your nexus.
R can be instrumental in helping allies with bounties escape from long-range enemies.
Aim for a significant minion differential over your opponent, as it often yields greater benefits than unsuccessful ganks.
Don't hesitate to engage champions with single CC skills like Jax or Thresh, relying on your W shield for protection.
Opt for blue wards to locate elusive ganking targets and yellow wards early on for superior map control. Your ultimate's range generally negates the need for a Sweeping Lens.
Axiom Arc is a recommended purchase as your second to fourth item, enabling ultimate resets after securing 2-3 kills.
Communicate with your team when targeting jungle objectives, either to distract enemies or request assistance.
Always invest in Control Wards for Dragons and strategically place them near the enemy's Red and Blue buffs to monitor their jungler's movements, facilitating safer farming or split-pushing in their territory.
