Champion Build Guide
Intro
Hey all thanks for checking out this guide!
I am a Chall peak Fiddlesticks main from OCE. I got bored of Fiddle and wanted to try something new that looked strong. I first timed Soraka mid and boy oh boy, what a strong pick especially this season being influenced so heavily by early skirmishes in the jungle. Going from Fiddle (or jungle in general) to Soraka mid is such a refreshing change of pace as Soraka has a kit that when paired with good foundational game knowledge, leverages the benefits of a solo lane extremely well.
I am still learning her match up's and will continue to optimise this guide as I learn more. If you have any suggestions, callouts or feedback please reach out as its greatly appreciated.
Jotting down my notes so that hopefully you can skip a few steps in the grind and learn from what I have experienced.

The Basics
Prioritize your skills: Soraka's Q (Starcall) is her most important damage ability and should be maxed first. Her W (Astral Infusion) is a strong sustain tool that should be leveled up after Q.
Control vision: As a mid laner, it's important to ward your lane and keep an eye on the enemy mid laner's movements. This will allow you to make more informed decisions about when to engage in fights or when to play more defensively.
Play to your strengths: Soraka excels at sustained damage and healing. Look for opportunities to harass the enemy mid laner with your Q, and use your W to sustain yourself in fights.
Protect your allies: As a support champion, Soraka excels at keeping her allies alive. Use your E (Heal) to keep your allies healthy, and use your R (Wish) to provide a global heal when needed.
Be mindful of your positioning: Soraka is a relatively squishy champion, so it's important to be mindful of your positioning in fights. Try to stay out of range of the enemy's damage dealers and use your E to avoid taking too much damage.
Overall, Soraka is a strong and versatile champion in the mid lane. By following this simple guide, you should be well on your way to becoming a successful Soraka player.[*]

Strengths
Soraka has many lane strengths that provide her with an advantage from champ select. I am yet to play into a match up that overshadows her lvl 1 and 2 (please let me know if you have found a difficult lane matchup during these levels).
1) Sustain and lane bully: Soraka's Q ability Starcall is a slow, self-heal and damage all in one. This ability provides (in my opinion) an over tuned base sustain/damage combo that makes this Soraka lane pick viable and quite a low key early game lane bully if played aggressively.
2) Low cost super high value kit: This is what makes Soraka super strong, her kit is such low cost as its meant for the support role.
It takes advantage of the fact her champion identity is as a support (similar to Lulu), but when thrown into a solo lane, the benefits of her kit are compounded due to the greater gold/exp that being solo provides.
Also by getting Chemtech Putrifier after your mythic, you give your whole team heal cut globally with your R. This saves your team from having to buy heal cut, giving them more gold efficiency to optimise their builds. (Make sure to communicate this to your team early so that they don't invest into any heal cut)
3) Great synergy with aggressive meta Junglers - Now, to be frank I wouldnt blind pick Soraka - make sure you are communicating with your team to ensure that you have ample damage in your team comp draft. If paired with a xin/kindred or any heavy invade, early skirmish or counter jungle champion this is where Soraka lane really shines.
4) The mid game is your time to accelerate to a win. If you have played effectively during laning you should come out ahead more often than your opposing laner (due to the value/cost of her kit). You now need to use this to accelerate the game by grouping and taking objectives where appropriate. She is not the best lane splitter so but its still important to not over group (its a balancing act that requires you to read the game state and play accordingly), so still get into that side lane come mid game to keep up with exp/gold. Please be sure to get a control ward deep and frequently check the map to get to any potential fights and ensure you are not caught out when in the side lane.
5) The silence on your E Equinox is a game changing ability. If you use this correctly on the appropriate target or even better, multiple targets, you put your team at such a significant advantage. Think about it, this ability stops the enemy team from accessing all of their spells for up to 3 seconds and roots them if they stand in its AOE for long enough. WTF??? OP. Make sure to practice hitting this ability (just ahead of where the enemies are pathing) and not wasting as it has a high CD.
