sett shall recognize you as THE BOSS of top lane, your Q with executioner will reduce his passive and you can build serpent's fang
Trundle
with spacing, tiamat and executioner can keep him kited
Dr. Mundo
he can ignore your cc but you have the advantage with executioner and you need to use your minions as meat shields
Illaoi
try to use your q with executioner before she q you instead
Tryndamere
poke him with q and executioner and save your e against his roar and spin if done right he may not use his ult to dive bomb you
Garen
Use w against his q and you can space his e, do not engage with his ult up unless your have more health than him
Kayn
Mostly will punish by flanking your behind while on low on health even under tower.
Camille
camille does not have an answer to aatrox's passive, she has to get within melee range to use her passive, but Aatrox can kite her
Gwen
focus on poking and farming, avoid trades and her true damage
Ambessa
well you have to buy black cleaver and serpent's fang against her. if she engages your second Q is quite good against her
Kled
killing kled is hard he will try to bait you into diving to kill when he is low on health while his passive bar is nearly full and you will need to maintain the health advantage against at all times. use ignite when he is unmounted.
Jax
even after jax purchases executioner 's calling and bramble your Q damage without receiving grievous wounds
Mordekaiser
aatrox needs arcane comet , executioner's calling and serpent's fang while focusing on poking and avoid long trades
Yone
focus on poking ,farming and getting a serpent's fang first. save your E against his dashes.
Master Yi
against yi purchase bramble since he can only auto to deal damage landing cc is hard against him and he can out run you.
Kayle
using q, arcane comet to poke kayle
and second to recover from her poke
if done successfully she will run out of mana and suffer after you buy executioner's calling before she reaches level6 and if she is smart she will focus on farming.
Irelia
purchase bramble and avoid trading with her
Trundle
same as tryndamere except his E is annoying
Vayne
the nature of laning against Vayne is a farming lane equipping against doran's shield and second wind allows you to survive but she kill by hard to kill.
Building arcane comet can help ward her off
Shyvana
She has no crowd control, she focuses on building health which is good for Aatrox's passive and does not have a dash. her priority is taking dragons near bot lane which allows your jungler to steal Herald.
Aatrox can remeain revelant in late game with his crowd control and items that provide his longevity but if hse falls behind then she cannot tank or deal damage.
K'Sante
build armor reduction and he will become weak, build serpent's fang and he will become defenseless, but still could be revelant with crowd control
Briar
build armor and grievous wounds and she will still eat you in the wrong way possible.
Olaf
well he can ignore your crowd control has better sustain in the trade and outrunning will be difficult. the best decision is to stick to your steam and tower and try to stay away from him.
Buying grievous wounds is a must.
Nasus
susan can buy oblivion orb, poke you with E and can use Navori Flickerblade against you. Aatrox should recoomend help from jungler.
Pyke
I hate pyke's ult.
Yorick
Interrupt farming his ghouls with your Q, save your third Q for his gouls, save your E for his barrier and place cc on pet ultimate under tower.
Akali
Save your Q against her shroud and dont fight her with lower health
Rammus
you do not receive grievous wounds when he buys bramble vest while hitting him with Darkin Blade.
Sivir
Teemo
Do not engage Teemo with his Q ready to be used or he will sabotage this guide. focus on farming, use the arcane comet plustsecond wind to survive his poison.
Yasuo
Yasuo can Use your Darkin Blade to activate his ultimate. Yasuo must be competent enough even if he uses your knock-ups as a crutch
Morgana
champions with hard cc usually have good synergy as long as they chain crowd control together.
With Navori Flickerblade Morgana will place the enemy under eternal crowd control
Garen
champions that have armor reduction in their kits or build can help Aatrox heal from his E's passive while Aatrox in turn can prevent the enemy from moving very far.
Champions that have finishers can benefit from his knock ups.
If he buys Navori Flickerblade then he can perma silence shield reduce enemy armor.
Akali
Champions that can burst, deal both physicial and magical damage, and need time to deal their damage can benefit from Aatrox''s Knockups during teamfights and skirmishers
Quinn
characters that can splt and dive under enemy tower can help Aatrox in the early game.
Master Yi
acknowledge that Aatrox may not be able to achieve higher kill count than Yi so you might as well make sure he gets fed. Aatrox must assist carries even since his crowd control is better than his Ability to deal damage as a bruiser
Shen
enemies that apply grievous wounds through Auto attacks can be negated with Shen.
Kayle
champions that provide
invulnerability are useful at keeping you alive and prolonging in making sure your presence is felt on the map but you need to convince them that your are a priority over the main damage dealer and support.
Poppy
If the enemy laner as too many dashe coordinate with an available poppy to win a 2v1
Wukong
champions that can bait out the enemy caster's abilities will have their dps reduced once Aatrox engages in the skirmish.
Mel
As long as is not a point click champions that can reflect skill shots withs hard control then Aatrox can fight while behind them.
Renata Glasc
Aatrox can not use his crowd control once she uses her ultimate which causes enemies to attack eachother.
aatrox can only focus on low health enemies during the effects of her ultimate.
Bard
The worst that can happen is that he makes you waste your third Q on a champion in stasis.
Illaoi
You can heal from the echo that illlaoi created. If ialloi has Navori Flickerblade then she can alwais get more echos ready for you to heal from.
Caitlyn
The best key runes that have the best synergy with each other are conqueror and press the attack, so Aatrox should coordinate and protect the adc well.
Corki
Corki can reduce both armor and magic resistance since Aatrox can deal mix damage and this guide will allow Aatrox easily refresh his passive constantly.
Heimerdinger
Aatrox can apply Aoe crowd control
heimer can deal damage across an area. they both can split the enemies attention apart quite well
Talon
Champions that can burst under a second can benefit from just one knock-up from Aatrox's Darkin Blade.
Aatrox with his bright ultimate and the noticeable zones created by his aoe abilities will distract the enemy team while sneaky champions with less noticeable special effects can only be noticed once their target is dead.
Darius
a team with two AD bruisers will be countered by building armor and kiting them.
Nasus
If he buys Navory Flickerblade then he can farm better and get more kills even in aram.

Darius
a team with two AD bruisers will be countered by building armor and kiting them.
Nasus
If he buys Navory Flickerblade then he can farm better and get more kills even in aram.
Aatrox first goal in lane is obtaning cooldown reduction for his basic abilties whic help him deal the most damage in his arsenal, his auto attack are lack luster since the beginning of his rework and otherwise he suffers from long cooldowns, currently there is an called item navori flickerblade is useful for proccing conqueror and increase the frequency of his trades since it reduces the cooldowns of his abilities. Adding Auto atacks to his combos and proccing the passive of Navori Flicker BLade on minions can increase the succes of trading and poking. Aatrox can interrupt and pusnihs the enemy's farming by poking them with the two Q's of his darkin blade ability. his combo should include hitting successfully all of the Q with his Darkin Blade when the ammount of available health of the enemy is similar to Aatrox otherwise he should withheld his third Q.
Navori's Flickerblade and Conqueror
I think that Navori Flickerblade is an underrated item for its synergy with Aatrox's abilities and passive, it has lower price than most bruiser items, it reduce some the impact of Aatrox's weaknessess, the long cooldown of his abilities, the punishment of not landing the Q ability (Darkin Blade), effectively lowering the skill ceiling in playing around Aatrox;s long cooldowns and laying down knock ups as much as possible to the point of being the most impactful crowd crontol in the match.
With the addition of other attack speed items he can increase his dps to the point he can procc Conqueror much easier which in turn increases his damage and heal during trades.
The enemy laner with eat a lot of crowd of control from poking with the two Q(Darkin Blade) which helps Aatrox to soften up the enemy to a trade, a kill or to force them to back off from lane.
Spells and item active that deal damage can trigger a stack of conqueror but must manage what he has in his arsenal to deal the most damage once conqueror is full of stacks.
W tips
Infernal chains is Aatrox first ability that starts his combos at the start of any trade, either the enemy fights in the zone and loses dps once they pulled by the cahins or they have to waste time moving to the sides which is still favorable for Aatrox since he can predict where they could be going. they could be used to pull the enemy off of Aatrox or they could waste time buy repositioning in front of Aatrox retreat which dould be dangerous for them since he could dash to safet once they dash infront of him. If onthing else he could last hit minions its not like he has to keep it in reserve.
The role of a drain tank and Death bringer stance
Aatrox as a bruiser that heals from omnivamp must deal damage to heal he has limited options of healing from minions without items or sustaining his health outside of combat. Among the options that it is available to all champions spell Heal, the rune revitalize and the item warmog's armor are good alternatives outside of combat. Without items Aatrox can only sustain through omnivamp which is dangerous to benefit from when you are in low health with Aatrox. Aatrox is not a blood knight or deathseeker like tryndamere and Olaf and must be as a healthy bruiser contrary to his character that seeks his end. Also RIP to Aatrox's old passive
As Aatrox Gains more health, Cooldown reduction, and attack speed his passive: Deathbringer's stance becomes his first tool in fighting against tanks and high health opponents which allows him to heal from a percentage of damage based on the enemies maximum health , in addition most enemies build armor against him so when it is active he may deal noticeable percentage of magic damage to beefy targets continually from just his passive alone. From kills assists and takedowns Aatrox can heal well from the combination of thr rune triumph and Death's dance.
swapping out ignite and flash
Teleport is important since Aatrox needs to avoid cs loss during the lane phase and be ableto lend 4 hard crowd control effect on the enemy team across the map.
Flash can be removed since Aatrox can use umbral dash constantly with this build, he can maintain his position infront of the enemy laners while they are retreating and does not need the spell flash if you can anticipate well what the enemy will do. You can substitute ignite with items that give Griveous Wounds since te spell ignite does not give health from damage over time. It is more important to remain alive and farm than to secure kills since Aatrox has trouble accomplishing takedowns even with ignite because he does not have an ultimate as a finisher, and his abilties are slow and with relatively long cooldowns. You can also add that the tension of using his abilites while securing a kill is even harder while he has low health and the enemy laner could still kill Aatrox one way or another will bring about a lower level of productivity with Aatrox's players.
farming and gold efficiency
Aatrox can use doran shield and attack speed items to farm minions relatively well and can focus on farming caster minions on the backlines with is his Q to build his minion wave and farm gold with less interuption from melee minions and melee champions.Aatrox can use his Darkin Blade to farm enemy minions with a frienldy minion in between them to reduce the possbility of being hit with a skillshot that doesnt pass through targets with the added bonus of hitting the enemy laner ase well if they position themselves poorly.
Once his Darkin Blade is maxed out and has its damaged increased it can easily remove minion waves from the map which allows to force the enemy to farm their tower without farming with the pressure from Aatrox's area of effect abilities.
minions wave and crowd control
Aatrox can win poking and by interrupting the enemy laner's farming, if your minions are about to kill his minions and the enemy laner is in position to deal the final blow agains for the cs then you can interrupt it with your Q abilties and reduce his farming.
If the enemy triggers minnion aggro then Aatrox can use Crowd control to allow the minions to have opportunities to attack the enemy laner.
Aatrox Can stall and distact enemy minion waves using CC and drawing aggro thus delaying the minions' approach to his tower or objetive.
Attack speed vs Cooldown reduction
After purchasing Navory Flicker Blade Aatrox should focus only items that reduce the cooldown of his abilities for the benefit of his ultimate, items with cooldown reduction have more desirable statistics than attack speed items.
parallel chasing
Whilw chasing are retreating enemy laner Position yourself to the side of the path that the enemy is retreating to ensure that the sides of your second Q will hit enemy since they are much wider than longer.
Advanced Worl Ender tips for normals
Playing with a build that focuses on cooldown reduction allows aatrox use his utlimate and axiom arc in different ways outside of teamfights: 1)the most important one is using the spell heal during the trading phase in lane(the most important one),2) honeyfruit in the river,3) Activating World while running to your standing tower when your teleport spell is down,4) Activating Wold Ender while attacking his enemy's tower this practices can reduce the chance that a jungler will gank a low health Aatrox during the laning phase. In teamfights and at full health World Ender should be used at the start since Aatrox can be bursted with low health and die which puts World Ender on cooldown.
playing as the debuffer
Aatrox can buy items that can apply status effect on enemy champion and should be recognized as one of the best at the job since he can apply them while casting his aoe abilities but he must balance between keeping the enemy under crowd control or spacing out his darkin Blade to refresh the duration of the debuffs.
secondary jungler
Aatrox is one of the best jungle farmers even if he is in the top lane, he is best used to help kill void grubs and atakan due to the aoe damage of his Q, but his w works on the dominant monsters of each camp. Aatrox can take the opportunity to sabotage the enemy's jungle farming by applying crowd control on the enemy jungler and aiding the attacked camp in killing the jungler. If Aatrox has a jungle item that heals from dots he can with some cooldown reduction hit jungle monsters with a Q while he is kiting them or just happens to walk by without farming them, ex. Ancient Krug. One Aatrox has attack speed items he can proc his passive more frequently on jungle monsters.
Teamfight and stealing jungle monster
Aatrox has two tools to used in teamfights deal damage and apply crowd control, he is not a tank who is responsible from drawing aggro and must decide how to best apporach a teamfight. In preparation for a teamfight he could groupup of with another laner to 2v1 another enemy laner in a skirmish he could engage the teamfight after the tank has drawn the enemies's attention, he could chain cc after a teammate applied their own cc. Aatrox canot place every enemy laner under the effect his knock ups but can focus one or two champions that can do the most damage while his teammates follow up with their assault. Tanks are not his priority when it comes to dealing damage or sustain in a team fight except when his passive is active since he heals from the damage of the health percent Auto attack the circumstances need to be judged if he should used to his passive on a tank or a soon to be dead target.
If Aatrox is engage in a 2v1 with a teammate he can position his teammate between him and the enmy so he can Darkin with ease.
lol patch v14.19
As of patch v14.18 the total cost of Navori the total cost of Navori FlickeBLade was 2600 that means there have been an increasing number of summoners incorporating Navori FLicker BLades in their item builds and Riot decided to increase the price.
Immortality
Remeeber Aatrox does not die after his health is zero, he merely returns to the blade.
