Ryze is a pretty unique champion due to the fact that He has both a very high skill ceiling due to the ways you can use your R and due to having a high APM and being reliant on your Q for alot of damage. Knowing when to use QEQWQ instead of QWEQ oe QEWQ is crucial at a higher level, but also a very low skillfloor due to the fact that you can just QEWQEQ for easy consistent damage. Its never really bad even tho it might not be the best all the time, its still a pretty reliable combo.

On ryze its important that you understand the importance of XP, especially in botlane due to you sharing XP. Champions like Twitch, Bard, Zilean and Pyke are great with ryze due to the fact that ryze has amazing waveclear, and can have perfect cs even while alone in lane, if you do have a roaming support take TP for your lane unless you are absolutely sure you can survive without it. I would always recommend it since just a single mistake will give the enemy a huge lead due to tower platings and endless prio without it.

in my experience poke supports like brand are the worst on ryze, they will steal ur farm while flaming you, on the contrary enchanters are ultra strong on ryze, you can easily abuse enemies if you have a good yuumi, nami or soraka as a support. Nami is the #1 best support on Ryze by far, you can EW and nami can Q to have a pretty nice combo and amazing gank setup with very little counterplay due to the first stun being a point and click and the next being a knockup. Tanks are self explanitary since they like to roam after 3 so you get free soloxp and snowball like crazy. If you have a roaming sup and enemy doesnt, you can all in at lvl 11 when you get your second damage amplifier from R aslong as enemy makes a mistake, obviously depends on your lane opponent though.

mindstate and playstyle
You always want to put as much focus as you cna into farming. the lower elo you are the easier it is to climb consistently by only having amazing CS and a consistent XP lead to the enemy laner.

The mythics are explained in the builds section; this is for understanding when to chooose what legendaries.

You want to get seraphs everygame as second item, always. The ap and the shield it gives you allows you to literally 1v9 due to it scaling with mana, lategame the item will give you 180+ AP and combined with rabadons will make the enemies shiver

Rabadons is another nobrainer, most games i build it as my fourth item but sometimes its okay as third item too (if enemy has no real ad threat or if vastly ahead), frozen heart is very often better when bought first since it gives you extra ap, ability haste and defence making you unbelievably strong against ad threats. Once you get your frozen heart you can usually 1v1 the enemy toplaner and if ahead can 1v2 botlane or 2v3 bot and jgl, once u have rabadons u can solowin anything.

Zhonyas is amazing in teamfights giving you a second chance if you mess up and helps you sustain, i dont get it everygame but some people do, can be amazing if used properly, can also be used in 1v1s to wait out ur W CD so you can stun the enemy and run with phaserush/passive.

void staff is a strong option giving you alot more damage, especially if the enemy happens to have several tanks.

rylais and cosmic drive are similar in the sense that ryze loves being faster than the enemy, and they both allow you to reach that position. cosmic is better if ur ahead of very confident, also better for solo carrying. Rylais is better if you dont have a trash team. Cosmic drive is also an amazing 6th item if u sell boots

Warmogs allows you to stay in the map for a very long time and you can solowin the game by for example splitpushing to get elder for your team with it very easily since you end if enemy contests drake with everyone and your team gets elder if alot of people come for you. dont get if you cant 1v1 everyone in enemy team

Randuins vs yone/yas/tristana etc, all crit champs who are fed suffer if you have it, only a good replacement to frozen heart if enemy has only 1 or 2 ad champs.

Mejais is a very rare buy, only if smurfing or giga confident. Not that great on ryze due to the fact that you need to be pretty close to proc ur consistent mobility from your passive, you can easily get assassinated and have no where to go

Morellonomicon good if ur team has 0 antiheal and enemy has alot of healing like soraka and mundo, wouldnt recommend the item tho. I rarely ever buy it. Just tell ur support or jungler to get antiheal

Force of nature good if enemy is 80%+ ap, abyssal mask is even better if ur own team has alot of AP too, also a good buy if enemy has a splitpushing ap champ in their team since you can completely counter them and overtake the game even if behind

Anathemas only if absolutely needed, for example when enemy has a gigafed assassin like talon, hecarim, zed or kindred.
