Aatrox

Like most melee vs ranged matchups, you have the first two levels to poke Aatrox out but come level three, you really don't want to underestimate his damage. He usually takes Ignite so when you're weak, recall and TP back in with full HP and an item advantage. If you kill him, good news. He can't come back as fast as you can. In teamfights, play to catch Aatrox without his ult. If he popped it in a skirmish it's GG. If you have anti-heal like a Thornmail or a Chempunk, he won't do his job.

Akali

I haven't played against an Akali in a while but I'll update this when I do.

Camille

Camille plays to scale up so you need to shut her down by any means. Once she gets Sheen, you really need to respect her. However, if you hit level 6 before her, you can go right back to being aggressive. Camille is one of those champs who has two options for you to counter her. Take her on in the duel in the sidelane or teamfight 4v5 and leave your turrets and inhibs exposed. A general tip for champs who you have to duel or teamfight, go to the sidelane and take the duel but TP once you see the rest of the team so you can have a man advantage.

Cassiopeia

I haven't played against a Cassiopeia in a while but I'll update this when I do.

Cho'Gath

Poke Cho'Gath out as much as possible. If he gets too fed, rush the funny item (Blade) and you'll really make him regret his choice. Besides, you have max health damage in your W. Get Sunderer to do even more max health damage. In teamfights, take down his carries and get your team to turn on him. Hell, even zone him from his team. But please be careful of his Q and R. He could press R at anytime when you're low HP.

Darius

Like always, you have the range advantage. Similar to Aatrox, he doesn't take TP. When you get low on health, back and TP to lane. You need to play short trades because the longer the fight goes on, Darius becomes exponentially more stronger. Teamfights, you outscale him because you are more useful. If you get a really clean engage off and you have Radiant Virtue, the fight is already over and Darius can't do a thing.

Dr. Mundo

Mundo can deal pretty good damage for a tank. But all tanks are weak against the combo of PTA, Blade and Gnar W. You need to dodge his Qs and poke him back. In teamfights, if you're ADC isn't playing Vayne, you're the one that is going to be dealing with him. Try to zone him away from the team and make sure his passive is up as least as possible.

Fiora

Fiora is a challenging opponent for two reasons. One, if you leave her alone so you can teamfight, you're base will get taken in no time. The other is max health true damage. Get anti heal early in the lane, ideally the first back, and watch her cry. When you're in range of a vital proc and it's in a good spot for her, you just run away and go back to see where the vital is. You have two choices for mid and late game. You either sidelane against Fiora or you teamfight 4v5 and hopefully you win.

Gangplank

GP's laning phase is oppressive. Go Doran's Shield and Second Wind to remedy this. Your level one is stronger than his. Take poking runes like Scorch to match GP's poke. Bait him to put the barrels wherever you're not fighting him. If he's got barrels in the alcove and brushes, play in the river and vice versa. If you're in the river, watch for jungle ganks. Come mid game, please ping your carries not to go near him. One barrel can one shot an ADC.

Garen

Gnar is Garen's worst nightmare because he can just Q spam to stop him from regening. Get as many W procs as possible. Go Iceborn to kite and chase him even more. Garen won't be able to do anything to you. Try sidelaning in the mid to late game with Hullbreaker and Ravenous Hydra. Garen can't really come to stop you because you'll just stomp him because of your W and Blade if you have it.

Gragas

I've never played against Gragas but I'll update this when I do.

Gwen

Gwen is an interesting champion. She's pretty good at long and short trades. You think I can just poke her out, right? That's where you're wrong kiddo. Her W makes her untargetable to anyone outside the mist. Then why don't I just go in? Wrong again. Gwen excels at close range combat and her W increases her armor and MR. Gwen can either take towers with ease or wipe your team out with her ult and counter with Hallowed Mist. But if you flash ult her team and yours can follow up, you're good.

Heimerdinger

Heimerdinger is extremely oppressive. Now people are playing him because Beryl played him at Worlds. If you need to ban him, do so. Otherwise, pray you have a team that scales hard in teamfights. You need to play around them if you want to make Heim pay.

Illaoi

Illaoi is a knowledge check and here's the knowledge that will win you the lane. Whenever she misses her E, go in. No matter where you are just go in. Flash if you need to. When she does hit Test of Spirt, just run away and take down the tentacles for some free gold. She is a great split pusher but so are you. Go split push items like Hullbreaker, Blade and Ravenous to match her. Whoever wins the duel wins the game.

Irelia

Gnar gets countered by Irelia but you can at least make the wave push to you and create an opening for your jungler if she overstays. Once she hits full build you're at a loss. Just farm until mid to late game.

Jax

You have the advantage early game but late game, Jax becomes a split pushing monster. Try to match his split pushing by going Tri Force. Jax has an easily dodgable stun. Also punish him for jumping on you if he ever does it with a fuck ton of damage because he used his escape to engage you. Yeah.

Jayce

Jayce is part melee part ranged. Go in if he's melee and kite him if he's ranged. He builds Eclipse so build Chempunk Chainsword to answer him.

Kayle

All you do is hope to God you can scale and she can't. Bully and force her off of CS every chance you have.

Kennen

Kennen is ranged and has a lot of CC so whenever he uses his CC, answer back with a Mega all in with CC greater than his to lock him down.

Kled

Kled has 2 forms like you. The only difference is that he's melee in both forms and he can actually control what form his in. Bait out his Q. If you get latched onto it and you're about to become Mega, DO NOT BACK AWAY. It does apply GW but its damage is minimal compared to your damage.

Malphite

Contrary to popular beliefs, Malphite ISN'T an answer to Gnar. All you have to do is rush Black Cleaver. Next you want Divine Sunderer or Frostfire Gauntlet. If your team has a dedicated tank, go Divine Sunderer. Otherwise go full time and Frostfire Gauntlet. Frostfire slows him so if he lands a Q, he'll be slightly slower than usual. Go Mercury's Treads to mitigate his slow. If you want extreme overkill in terms of Tenacity, go Unflinching and Legend: Tenacity. It'll work wonders on him and his other CC heavy teammates like Morgana. Go for all ins when you have your ult and your Cleaver done

Maokai

Not sure on how to beat Maokai but will update this when I come against him

Mordekaiser

Mordekaiser is a mixed bag. He could be really good or really bad. There's no in between. Just rush a QSS and force him out of lane any chance you get. Beware of jungle ganks. Be as aggressive as yordlely possible, taking advantage of every mistake he does. All four of these rune pages go well against him but you might want either Fleet Footwork or Grasp.

Nasus

Nasus is someone you never want to get ahead. TBC

Ornn

Ornn is tanky so build anti tank items. The only threat is his team with their upgraded mythics.

Pantheon

Try to trade often with Pantheon. You want to win them too.

Go full tank and tenacity

Renekton

Rush Bramble Vest to prevent him from healing and go Trinity Force. You want Fleet Footwork and Taste of Blood so you can heal but he can't. Dead Man's is good because he has a lot of dashes to work with and you can run away or engage him.

As long as you don't follow him, you can farm up and trade when necessary. I'd go movement things like Phase Rush

The first few levels are Gnar favoured but once level 3 comes around, you just need to poke him out. Just because Sylas is a mage doesn't mean he gets blown up as easily like an Annie. He can W to heal for a lot of health and to top it off, he uses Conqueror. When teamfights roll around, you better hope to the LP gods he stole someone else's ult. In his hands, Gnar can singlehandedly win teamfights with your ult's ridiculous AP scaling (100% base and 150% if you hit a wall).

Tahm Kench

The buffed Teemo is on the same level is Irelia. You literally can't touch him. Just pray you have a jungler that can camp you and look for easy all in. Go with every possible tenacity option you can. Sunfire Aegis, Unflinching, Legend: Tenacity, Mercury's Threads and Elixer of Iron are needed.

Trundle

For Trynd, just go Phase Rush and his slow is useless. He is known for split pushing so go Trinity Force, Hullbreaker, Blade of the Ruined King, Randuin's Omen. Last item is up to you.

Udyr

Urgot is a real pain due to his execute ult. Be careful whenever he has it up.

Vayne

Vladimir

Vladimir is a ticking timebomb that will inevitably go off and turbo 1v9 the game. You can try and shut him down but he can just heal back all your poke attempts. When you all in in Mega, he can just give you the middle finger and go into his pool. Unless he's incredibly behind, you must never group for teamfights. Split push and if they come to stop you, if they're not Vlad, you got a free kill and can continue pushing to win the game.

Volibear

Volibear's chain lightning is scary but you can easily stick back and poke him. Once you get Iceborn, you can proc your W over and over and over again. Bonus points if he's forced to ult out. Then you don't have to worry about him diving you. If Voli engages your team with ult, hop back and use Iceborn to turn the fight and punish his positioning.

Warwick

No matter who hard he tries, he's gonna feed you breakfast, lunch and dinner. Warwick has no value and should stay Jungle.

Wukong

Yorick

To beat Yorick all you have to do is be the better Yorick. Get it? You need to match his split push with your own. Go Tri Force for the maximum split pushing power and never group with unless it's for soul or Baron. Your team will flame you for not being there but they're never there for you right? It's only fair. If he can't snowball then you can. Go for the offensive build and copy it. Take as many towers as you can. You want to go for inhib towers by 25 to 30 mins. After you breach base, you can stay with your team now. You'll be powerful BC of turret gold.
